OMG! I just remembered what Dumai wells is all about; oh man; gm has a sadistic streak; dropped us in the game right at the rescue of Rand being tortured by Aes Sedai and kept in a box for a week; this is the aftermath of the rescue; oh man could there be a worse time to meet a guy, plus all twisted up in his heartstrings by his three loves and Lews Therin talking to him in his head. This is where you either swear loyalty to Rand or stay captive; not sure if it applies to those not involved or not. Hard Place; US, between; hehe Ashaman have it no better; Lews is screaming for Rand to kill all of you hehe.
Am glad Tesliin has all kinds of diplomacy whew

A'Mar, were you saying the above out loud? I'm having trouble distinguishing what your character is saying versus what is his "internal monologue". Also, how much info does your character know versus you as a player? It just seems like A'Mar is a bit omnipotent with how much of the overall story he is aware of.
All these thing happened with big pomp and circuimstance; the Amyrin Seat even visited Fal Dara in Shienar and all the borderkinds started packing to go there so it was well known and the events
Logain has a rep over 10; so his actions are very well known. Taim was taken in Saldea not far from Kaldor and any false dragon is big new.
So were is the omnipotence these are things well known and the gossip of the whole world. News of Tear and Tolman Head are just as big and evryone pays attention to a dragon.
Just my thoughts. Aes Sedia have there pigeon network; not sure if we are on that.

Agreed a lot of these things could be large enough to have been heard. But for instance, when talking with/about the Asha'man and describing Logain, you talk about his being with the Black Tower and able to channel again. He isn't healed until midway through Book Six and he isn't mentioned as being at the Tower until Book 7 or 8. And even so, outside of the Asha'man, almost no one actually knows he can channel again.
Its not a big deal and rizzen is fine with it. I was just getting confused about the continuity and what is and isn't public knowledge and the text formatting threw me.

Valegrim |

That was just a wrong assumption on my part; A'Mar thought this was Logain not Taim; so had to reset he was mystified. Now he is curious how Taim got away.
wow just noticed I am nearly at 11k in posts on these boards; I dont remember going over 10,000
sorry about hte format; i should have put it; was spoken as he thinks he is gonna die; he is getting his guilt trip in. hehe he knows he is powerless and screwed in this situation but very strongly believes in right and wrong and this is wrong in his eyes.

And to think on this day at the same time this is going on; Lord Captain Commander Padron Niall, one of the world great commanders, of the Whitecloaks is murdered by Lord Captain Abdel Omerna who is then murdered by Lord Captain Eaomon Valda. Guess I shouldnt have made my character a Lord Captain; lol.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Im allowing all the comments about Lan because, from my POV, any true borderlander worth his salt would know who Lan is, and what he is currently doing to combat the Dark One. So the way i see it, A'mar's comments about lan teaching Rand the blade, while not common, i think all Warders would know about it.

Marten Noral |

It is ooc. this blue color is ooc speech. I agree about the resisting. although your aes sedai is now sworn to the Guy giving directions. I'm actually kind.of interested to see how irritated marten gets. I'll keep to the discussion page if that's simpler. :)
I threw this up here, since it kinda belongs here, instead of in the thread.

Volty |
So what does it mean to be at a negative HP? How long do we need to wait for A'Mar before heading on? Can he do anything right now? No, right?
I'm just thinking of how to do the rest of this encounter without leaving out members of the party. Can Tesliin speak to other Aes Sedai with one of the Asha'Man present, and basically get caught up (to what we all know happened) so that we can start fresh the next day? And do so without having to RP it? lol save time.
Just throwing out ideas here. I hate to leave people out of the adventure. :)

Marten Noral |

Same here. Lets say 10 days of rations. :) Other than that, rdy to go!
I thought about stuff to hide the party, but traveling with an Ogier... lol. Also, how do we feel about traveling vs walking? We could RP that discussion, or just make an OOC decision.
Again, just thinking out loud. long day, so ignore me if I dont make sense.
[edit]Also added a backpack/bedroll. I figure he didnt have those, given that they traveled there.

Sorry to jump in to your forum, but I saw the recruitment thread and had to find out; any chance of a late addition? I saw you have 5 players and just started recently. I am a big WoT fan and I have the campaign setting. I'd love the chance to get in on this, even if I am chasing the eight ball a little. Let me know please.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

lastnameonearth, sure. the group is in the right place for another person to come along. Just create a character using the pathfinder rules for feats and skills, the WOTRPG book for classes and feats, and you can also look through the netbook "under the dragon banner" for more feats and weaves, if you want to be a channeler, or if you want to be a wolfbrother, that is listed in there as well.
and tesliin, its whatever you want amar to be.

Figured I'd post this here. Not 100% what a Toh tournament is, and couldn't find any reference to it. Unless referring to ji'e'toh, that is.
Also figured I'd have the great serpent ring hidden since coming here as part of the disguise.
well, im sure you could ask around the Inn and find out...

Ah, sorry. So much information in this setting, thought it was something common knowledge I just didn't recall.

Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |

Lastnameonearth here. I have the basics of my character up for your perusal Rizz.
I had a couple of ideas I wanted to try, but settled on this one. If it doesn't work with your planned campaign let me know. I used the variant Algai’d’siswai class described in the Netbook, as it was a fair bit more interesting than the base one.
If this concept does not work, my next choice would probably be an Aes-Sedai. A blue sister from the Saladar camp I think, with a Wilder background to offset Tesliin's background and abilities.
As for Rhoekk, I think that he would be easy to introduce as a Red Guard, on duty patrolling the city when our party arrived. He saw them come through a hole in the air, and decided that these people were more than they seemed. He has just started to hear rumours about the men that can channel from the Aiel returning from Dumai's Wells, and that they use holes in the air to move about. As a result, he figures that these are likely some of them, and is curious to find out more. Since the male channelers serve the Car'a'carn, he feels comfortable enough to approach them directly. Since they are travelling incognito, he'll approach them the same way, perhaps tapping on the window of their 4th floor room. As he has a +21 stealth skill, he is confident no one would see him come or go.
I think Rhoekk fills a couple of good roles in this party, as he's another fighter/non-channeler, and can cover the stealth, rogue, infiltration part of things that are not covered so far. However, if this is meant to be entirely an intrigue campaign, he will likely not get to use those skills, so let me know.

Joliar Belthoval |

Excited to say welcome aboard. An Aiel would be an interesting addition to the group.
The rules lawyer in me is really curious how you achieved a +21 t0 Stealth at 7th level. Assuming max ranks of 10 + 4 (from an 18 in Dex) + 2(skill focus or like-wise feat/ability) that would put you in the 16-18 range. Just curious is all, believe me if we have someone with a 21 Stealth mod, I won't be complaining. :-)

Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |

The Aiel get a stealth bonus that allows them to add their Reflex bonus to Hide/Move Silently, or in this case, stealth.
7 ranks, plus 3 for class skill bonus, +3 for Dex 17, Reflex save of +8: 7+3+3+8=21. Pretty awesome.
I know, I did the same thing when I saw Noral make his Weavesight roll. I thought, How does a level 7 character have a +17 in ANY skill? I did a bit of reading and found the bonus Initiates get as a class feature.
WoT has a few eccentricities am not familiar with. I don't know the setting quite as well as I know 3.5 or Pathfinder.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

rhoekk, not bad on the character. we will see how he pans out, since your using the class from the netbook.
but background wise, i am going to say no to it. In game timeline, this is still the same day as the battle at dumai's wells, so the aiel havent traveled far enough to spread word about the asha'man.
if you can, sit tight for a moment, i know the perfect spot to bring in your character...

Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |

That is no problem. I have a few things to finish up with for him, and I may change his clan and society once I refamiliarize myself with them. The Red Shield society was because I remembered them being given the job of Policing Cairhien, and I thought it might make introduction easier. As I said before, if an Aiel doesn't fit let me know, and I can be flexible.

A'Mar of House Issola |

I will be traveling week after Xmas, but will try to check posts when I can....
I think what we might try, is as nobles; go to a library and have our so called servants look for the books we desire; given them both run of the place to find and read what they want; buy really, I am thinking the library at Tar Valon is probably the only place they might have books about creatures of the blight or whatnot that might have some side knowledge about what we seek.
is there a, lol, index of Browns study of knowledge so we could ask one hehe.
