Aldhranhald |

I'm going to wait on doing anything until Gansu's turn is botted and Sama goes, actually. Barring anything obvious that Aldy can do to help, let's assume he's "guarding the hallway" as usual. :)

Sama Kattan |

Upon hearing the fighting and (especially) the grunt of pain from Uriel, Sama rushes to assist. Her fingertips crackle as she unleashes another thread of lightning toward the bandit that has circled around behind Uriel (purple).
Jolt ranged touch attack, into melee: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 4 = 8

[dice=Jolt ranged touch attack, into melee]1d20+5-4
Actually, Sama, I hope that Uriel's critical hit has already taken care of Purple. You may be better served with your shot to aim for a different bandit...You should also be healed of your damage from the channel that Gansu did a few posts ago...

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Ummm ... When referring to bandit's colors let's please try to use the same color names that I list in the initiative to avoid confusion. I could not understand the references to the 'purple' bandit at first, then I realized that would be the 'pink' bandit. Gansu's border is purple. I try to avoid using the same color for bandits, that any players have. Thank you.
When the bolt digs into Uriel he feels himself get a little weaker. - 1 Con, save every round until further notice please.
Uriel wades on into the fight, and in his wrath he cuts the head clean off of the pink tasseled bandit.
Boudacia, Not sure why you are asking for a 20 ft radius? Glitterdust only has a 10 ft radius spread. Since Pink was killed anyways I will just use it on the other bandit. And I am fairly certain there is a 20 ft radius on the map, I just can't access it from work.
Will save vrs Glitterdust: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
And the bandit goes blind!

![]() |

Sorry, pink it is. I think we are ready except for Gansu's actions. You are right about the 10' radius, but I think Boudacia was trying to hit the two bandits in the back, which should be blue and cyan if I recall correctly.

Boudacia |

Sorry. I mean't 10' radius in the last post. Which makes things make sense, more or less. And Uriel is right I was going for the 2 bandits in the rear, Cyan and Blue.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

My apologies Boudacia! You were correct by all accounts other than the 20 ft! There was no 10 ft radius template! There is now! And I shall attempt to make the save for the second bandit as well!
Blue's Will save vrs Glitterdust: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Both the blue and cyan tasseled bandits are blind!
************************ 'Gansu' Post ******************************
Gansu rushes in and attacks the red-tasseled bandit.
Gansu power attack on Red: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 1 = 20
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Gansu slices deep into the bandits shoulder!
******************* Bandit's turn *********************
The red tasseled bandit drops his crossbow, draws his sword and swings at Gansu!
Red's attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage!: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Max damage! Yay! :-D
The bandit slices deep into Gansu's thigh!
The Cyan bandit, having seen Uriel rush forward to stand right next to him before he went blind, drops his crossbow and draws his sword and takes a swing at Uriel.
Blind, concealment 50%, 1-50 misses, 51-100 passes: 1d100 ⇒ 92
Cyan's attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
While Cyan's blade goes in generally the right direction, he comes nowhere close to striking the turtle.
Blue, having reloaded his crossbow before going blind, takes a shot towards where he last saw Uriel.
Blind, concealment 50%, 1-50 misses, 51-100 passes: 1d100 ⇒ 87
Blue's attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
His bolt flies past Uriel harmlessly striking the wall in the distance.
CURRENT INITIATIVE:
Block 2:
Aldhranhald - guarding the 'hallway', Boudacia, Gansu, Sama & Uriel (Fort save please!)
Block 1:
Cyan bandit (blind for 2 more rounds),
Block 2:
Aldhranhald - guarding the 'hallway', Boudacia, Gansu, Sama & Uriel (Fort save please!)
********************* Notice: ************************
Uriel has graciously volunteered to 'bot' Gansu for me, and I have accepted his offer for the foreseeable future. However I am still to be held responsible for anything if Gansu does ever come back to the game.

Boudacia |

Boudacia moves into room 8 so she can see all the bandits, then attempts to put the red bandit to sleep.
Slumber Hex, will save DC17 or 4 rounds of magical slumber.

![]() |

Uriel steps to the west and assesses the situation...
If the red bandit is asleep, he swings at the sparkly blind cyan bandit. If the red bandit is awake, he swings at the red bandit. But first, the fortitude save!
Uriel Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Uriel Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Uriel Longsword Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

BotBotBot |

Gansu steps to the west in support of Uriel, pausing to briefly lay hands on his wound.
Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
He then spins and swings his fearsome Nodachi at the red bandit (if he is awake) or sparkly blind cyan bandit (if red is asleep).
Gansu Power Attack with Nodachi: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 1 = 22
Gansu Power Attack Damage with Nodachi: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Red's Will vrs Slumber: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
The red tasseled bandit does NOT fall asleep!
Uriel feels the poison fade from his body. Rats! Don't forget you are still down by 1 Con though.
Uriel stabs the red tasseled bandit deeply!
Then Gansu stabs him as well and he drops to the ground unable to move! Red is at 0 HP !!!

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Oh crap! I just re-read Glitterdust and realized I forgot the bad guys get another save vrs the blindness at the end of their turn! So I'm starting with the save they should have gotten last turn. *** Also, it was pointed out that Red had taken previous damage, and I forgot, so he is dead. *** Sama!!! This means your target was dead, so if you want you can use that same attack roll on Cyan or Blue who are standing & don't give you the - 4 for being prone, which means you would hit their touch AC since they are blinded! Choose either target, and roll damage!
Cyan Will vrs blindness: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Blue Will vrs blindness: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Well, so much for that.
Boudacia? are you in bat form or humanoid form? When your icon is full size I take it to mean you are in humanoid form, and if that is so, then you cannot occupy the square with the red circle because there is a life size statue there. I went ahead and moved you back 1 square, but if you are in bat form feel free to put it back, but please try to shrink your icon?
Cyan will swing his sword at the same spot as before as he still hears the sounds of battle directly in front of him.
Blind, concealment 50%, 1-50 misses, 51-100 passes:: 1d100 ⇒ 76
Cyan attack vrs Gansu now: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
But his swing goes wide.
Blue is very confused, and will try firing his crossbow again. Yes, AoO from Uriel!
Blind, concealment 50%, 1-50 misses, 51-100 passes:: 1d100 ⇒ 42
But in his confusion he fires in the wrong direction.
Cyan new Will vrs blindness: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Blue new Will vrs blindness: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Cyan can now see his impending death ... Suddenly there is a yellow puddle on the floor. On the rare occasion it is best to be blind! ;-)
CURRENT INITIATIVE:
Block 2:
Aldhranhald - guarding the 'hallway', Boudacia, Gansu, Sama & Uriel
Block 1:
Cyan bandit,
Block 2:
Aldhranhald - guarding the 'hallway', Boudacia, Gansu, Sama & Uriel

Uriel AOO versus blinded blue: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

BotBotBot |

What do the voices say to Gansu at this point? Mercy or Justice?
Ancestors: 1d20 ⇒ 19 Low is death, High is mercy
Gansu cocks his head to the left, listening to unseen voices, then raises his deadly Nodachi. Taking pity on the soiled cyan bandit, he intones,”Surrender or die!”
Readied action to attack it the bandit does not comply:
Gansu attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Gansu damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Crit damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Uriel steps to the west 5 feet to box in the sparkly blind blue bandit. Hearing Gansu’s offer, he shrugs his shoulders and says to blue,”What he said.”
Readied action to strike if bandit does not surrender:
Uriel Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Uriel Damage: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Both bandits drop their weapons and raise their hands in full surrender.
Usual loot including poisons. I'm gonna do a little different for the Gp since I'm at work.
Gp found?: 1d100 ⇒ 86
You find 85 Gp. I like to make it evenly divisible by the # of players.

![]() |

Okay, same dance, different partners.
Once the prisoners are stripped of weapons and treasure, then settled in the jail, Uriel asks, "So which door next? Aldhranhald, what does your map say?"

Aldhranhald |

Good question, have we been in room C13? I don't remember going in there...
"Hold on while I consult my sketches and notes." Aldy says putting away his weapons for the moment and pulling out his scroll tube with all his cartographical supplies.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Essentially no, you have not been in C13. Just a little over on the East side by the pool of water, but you have NOT opened door # 11 yet. You can go South into C2 and take the stairs down to the next level, completely by-passing the rest of this level if you wish, BUT you have not fought neither the 'boss' of this level, nor another potentially important encounter. Also there are still some 'secrets' to discover on this level!
So you have:
1. South into C2, or
2. North through door # 11 into C13 (Or go the long way around back to door 10) and then doors 1, 2, or 3, and / or on down the tunnel into area 4.

![]() |

I believe we have looked into room 13, but did not venture inside.

Aldhranhald |

Craft Cartography: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
"That way." Aldhranhald says, pointing at the double doors in the northeast corner of the room. He then gives a careful look and listen at the doors to check for traps or awaiting bad guys on the other side of the portal.
Take 20 Perception: 20 + 12 = 32 33 when looking for traps.

Boudacia |

I think we have been in room 13. Otherwise it would not be exposed.

![]() |

Urial sets up on the door as per the standard approach. (Even If we have already been in, there may be new threats). When everyone is ready, he opens it. Let’s say Gansu gets into position as well. Token assist please.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Aldy finds nothing suspicious. Uriel opens the doors to an empty area / passageway. You can now see another door (# 12) in the tunnel area, and you see the tunnel continues North as well.
Some of you recall the prisoners talking about tunnels leading up and out, or down to certain death, where the Gibbering Mouther came from.

BotBotBot |

Gansu speaks up, ”Let’s work from east to west to avoid leaving potential enemies behind us.” Gansu strides over to the pool on the east side of the cavern, checking it to ensure no threats lurk there. He then encourages the others to set up on door number 1 as is standard process. ...assuming more ‘squishy’ characters follow from the south near the more explores areas...

![]() |

Uriel moves to door 1 as requested. Token assist please.

Boudacia |

Boudacia nods in response to Gansu's suggestion, then silently moves to take up position in room 11, ready to support Gansu.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

I'm waiting for Aldy at door #1. Aldy, just a reminder, taking 10 or 20 takes time. Things may happen if you choose to do so.

![]() |

Thanks for making it clear on whom we are waiting, Stormstrider. I thought we were waiting on you and maybe some people repositioning their icons.
Also, realize that Gansu was motioning the more “squishy” characters towards the south near the explored areas, but current icon positioning for Boudacia and Sama is to the West and fairly exposed to whatever may come out of those unexplored doors...

![]() |

...Aldy, you joining us?

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Aldy generally posts during normal business hours from his work, so I do not expect anything before tomorrow at this point.

Aldhranhald |

I am dreadfully sorry, I hate being the one that is holding up the show. I didn't think things would be hinging on me. My bad.
Aldy follows Gansu and Uriel's lead and goes to the door they've approached. He takes a look for traps, and listens for potential threats on the other side.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 31 when looking for traps.
Per the GM's advice, I'll forgo the take 20 this time. :) Looks like it would have only been marginally better anyway. Sorry again for holding up the show!

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Don't worry Aldy, it happens. No big deal.
Aldhranhald does notice a small black human hair stuck from door to frame, but nothing else.
What to do? Is the DM just playing a mean trick giving you something insignificant? Or is this some strange trap? Or something else entirely? :-D

![]() |

Uriel waits for Aldhranhald to call the door clear, then does his standard procedure to go through (after nodding first to make sure those who want to ready actions have the opportunity to do so).

Aldhranhald |

"Hmmmmm." Aldhranhald points out the human hair that is stuck across the space between the door and the frame. "That could be a trigger for a trap. Or it could be nothing." He says, and then speaks the words and waggles his fingers to detect magic.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Like I said, nothing else detected.
Aldhranhald does not detect any magic.

BotBotBot |

Concerned for the rest of the party's safety with the double doors to the north, Gansu shifts position to guard from any incursion from that direction.
To Aldhranhald, he says, "Perhaps even if it is not a trap, you can just remove it whole and we can put it back when we are done. I know I got caught at least once sneaking out of my room when I was a boy by just such a trick..."
Holding his Nodachi at the ready, Gansu readies an action to strike any enemy that gets close enough for him to reach and waits for Aldhranhald to finish & Uriel to open the door.

Aldhranhald |

"Not a bad idea..." Aldhranhald says and then uses his precision tools to try and do exactly that.
Disable Device?: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Hope that's enough.
Having done his best he moves back away from the door and lets the meat shields do their thing.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Aldhranhald successfully removes the hair from the doorframe. Uriel opes the door to find an apparently empty room that has:
A finely woven rug with a subtle tan and moorit pattern covers the floor of this bedroom. A garderobe enclosed by a wall is in the northeast corner, and to the west of it stands a large wardrobe.

![]() |

As usual, Uriel steps into the room while defensive after opening the door. If nothing threatening jumps out, he will scan the room for non-obvious threats and invite the smart ones to investigate.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Uriel sees no threats in this room. What he does notice is that this room is definitely the nicest bedroom you all have seen on this level. Large, nice rug; what looks to be a very comfortable bed; a desk and chair (though nothing special in appearance about them); a somewhat large, elegant looking wardrobe, and an apparently large, private restroom. By far higher standards than previous rooms. You strongly suspect this may be the private chambers of the leader of the Splinterden, Tarrin Dar.
To any who decide to investigate this room, please be as specific as possible in your actions. Nope, not for any special reason! Just for fun! By the way, I have some cheap, beautiful, beach-front property in North Dakota to sell you ... :-D ;-) :-P

![]() |

Uriel will back out of the room to give others space to investigate. He will keep a watch over the interior of the room as they do so.

Aldhranhald |

Aldhranhald will roll up the rug and look underneath. He will also, after checking them for traps, open all the furniture that has doors and drawers and tap their various walls and bottoms with a dagger looking for hidden chambers. He'll flip the mattress, and examine it for things stuffed inside, and also dutifully check the water closet for any hidden areas or secrets it might hold.
Perception Take 20: 20 + 12 = 32 33 when looking for traps.

The All-Seeing Eye. |

Well, I asked for specific and I got it! Hahaha! Thanks Mended! *** Of course you realize that to roll up the rug enough to check the entire floor area, you will first have to move the bed, the desk and the two chairs?!?! Perfect timing for a Mimic! ... to bad I don't have one. :-P That will also make a lot of noise. *** Also you were recently 'reminded' of the possible effects of taking 20 so ...
Aldhranhald will need help to be able to move the furniture in the room. Any volunteers?
