you run no further than 30 feet when you suddenly see a large wooden door, reinforced with layers of what appears to be a very high quality steel. It reflects the light back at you, showing off its highly polished state.
Set within the middle of the door is a large steel ring, held by a large metal post. Thick steel bars of metal run through the middle of this door.
Vala " the Swan" |
Vala reaching there gets to the door and puts away her dagger. She grips the gate and begins to try and pull it open."A little help would be nice"
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
It is a strength check to do a good old BB/LG check right
Ryvin Altessar |
I thought it must be a cell door...! ^^;
"Someone open it," Ryvin says in a tense tone. "If there's some boggard or a fetch behind it, I'll throw a fireball through. Or something."
The aura of saidar around Ryvin pulses and glows a little brighter.
Ready action to channel something painful if any hostile creature comes out from behind the door.
Keelix Andren |
Hearing the cry of pain and the smell of burning Vala, Keelix calls from the back, "What happened? Is everyone okay?"
Litheene |
Litheene grinds her teeth from the pain shared from Vala, hurrying to her side with a healing weave.
Level 5 using slot 3, Major Healing: 5d8 + 10 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 6, 6) + 10 = 36
Turning back to Ryvin and Jasmine We should block out the water, then use ice and maybe fire as well to weaken the door. Ryvin, can you freeze the door? Jasmine, push the water away from us, I'll block it from returning.
Litheene turns back towards the pass, and prepares the harden a wall of air across it, once the water is pushed away from them.
Ryvin Altessar |
"My pleasure," Ryvin says, grinning fiercely.
The Ebou Dari just looks at the door, but the air around the portal immediately starts to steam as ice spreads over its surface, crackling and grinding.
Ryvin uses Create Ice as a 2nd-level weave to encase the door in a large block of ice. Full-round action.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Weaves of fire and water lash at the iron bound door, weakening the iron and wood. An audible crack emits from underneath the water, now risen to chest height.
Keelix, help Stephen barks out as he slides up and grasps the door.
Keelix, sheathing his sword, steps forward and grasps the door as well, and lends his strength.
Heave! they both grunt in unison, and with blood vessels rising upon the skin, the door slowly slides open.
The water... Ryvin points out, and everyone looks.
the water, surging around them, is not pouring into the darkened room beyond.
Who cares! if we do not move now, we drown. Vala exclaims, pushing through the opening and stepping into the dark portal.
a long tense moment passes, and nothing from vala.
water up to the mouth, everyone just looks at each other and then moves up to the portal.
stepping through the portal is like stepping through a sheet of ice water. cold, liquidy, yet not. a sense of distortion, spatial and time, surrounds your body and thoughts. you feel as if you move agonizingly slow, and way to fast.
A heart beat, and eternity later, you step into the dark room.
The only thing you hear inside this room is the sound of water dripping from your clothes onto the floor below...
Keelix Andren |
I am assuming by lack of visual description that it is pitch black in the room.
Though it changes nothing in the amount of sensory data he is getting, Keelix closes his eyes to better concentrate on his other senses. He stops moving, trying to determine by the echoes how big the room is, and to hear if anyone/thing is in the room with them. He inhales deeply, concentrating on any scents the room might offer.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32.
Ryvin Altessar |
Ryvin raises her fiery dagger a little higher, allowing the weapon of fire to shed light like a torch.
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Litheene creates a ball of light in front of her, revealing a hellish scene before you.
A woman, nude, lays strapped to a reclined chair, her legs spread wide. Her ankles appear to be strapped in place with thin leather straps, the ankles red, bloody, skin hanging in strips from where the leather has dug into the skin. The knees are strapped as well, thin leather strap, flesh hanging, bloody. Your eyes slide off of the intimate area, unable to focus upon the horror that is being birthed. Her stomach swells obscenly, a large hand print pressing outward, the skin stretched pass the breaking point, revealing torn sinew and muscle. The chest reveals horrors beyond imagining. Sharp points protrude from her chest, leaving massive rents in her flesh. It takes you a moment to realize that the sharp points are her ribs. Her arms are strapped as well, raw, bloody, flesh hanging in strings from her arms. Her left arm is rubbed down so much that only bone remains. The look upon the woman is extreme horror and insanity. Her eyes stare upward, fixed upon the ceiling, as if cursing the Creator for her very existence.
The floor below her is slick wit blood. Bright red intermingled with black, it coats the floor like thick paint. Beyond the woman is a desk, its top covered with books, sheafs of paper in stacks and stuck within the books. Beside the quill and ink pot sits a long hook, stained with blood. Behind the desk are instruments of pain. A hook, a poker, sharp knives and forks hang upon the wall, each clean.
Opposite the door you came in you see another door. To your right, you see another door, coated with blood. Looking at the wall, you first think it red, but then realize that it has been sprayed by the birthing of these fell beasts.
just think..it's Halloween...and there are more rooms within...
Ryvin Altessar |
"By the Pit of Doom..." Ryvin whispers, horrified. Her gorge rises, and she has trouble fighting it down. Her hand trembles, the flames forming her dagger wavering, then leaping with sudden brightness.
Is this woman still alive? Because if she is, Ryvin would feel strongly motivated to mercy-kill her. o_o
Ryvin Altessar |
"Enough!" Ryvin says, choking on bile. "ENOUGH!"
The young Ebou Dari rushes forward, fiery dagger flashing.
Regardless whether the poor woman is alive or not, Ryvin uses coup de grace to chop off her head; a fiery weapon-style dagger should be able to do the trick.
Vala " the Swan" |
Vala still singed from the fire heads into the room her hand on her blade now as she pulls it out. She had fought darkfiends before and she will not hesitate to end the suffering at the hands of the foul creature she is trying to birth.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Ryvin pushes forward, moving rapidly to the table.
As Ryvin positions herself up by the womans head, suddenly a loud noise, a creen, is heard. It enters your head, soothing, a gentle promise of comfort. It enters your head, and travels down your spine, loosening taut muscles, relaxing your grip on weapons.
Before you, you see a creature birthed, it falls the ground, coated in mucus and blood. WHile small, it immediately stands upright, and wings spread from its back. Long arms that end in talons stretch wide, and black eyes fall upon the group, denoting an inhuman expression.
everyone make a Will save, dc 20 to resist the song. if you fail, move yourself towards the creature
Ryvin Altessar |
Will save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16. Oh, crap. o_o
Ryvin feels the crooning song enter her mind, weakening her will.
Her feet move forward without her instruction, and the Ebou Dari struggles to marshal her thoughts.
'Move.'
Step forward. And forward. Forward again.
'Move!'
The empty, soulless eyes looking at her, the wings opened, the clawed hands.
'Fight!'
"HnnKeelix!" Ryvin slurs, struggling to weave strands of Air around herself. "Keelix!"
Air starts to fall into place -- around Ryvin.
If possible, Ryvin uses Harden Air on herself, stopping her from moving closer to the thing. Composure check to multichannel: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18. Oops... So much for Aeriform Shield.
Keelix Andren |
A gagging sound is heard from Keelix moments before light bathes the hellish scene in the room. For a moment his eyes refuse to focus and he stands in shock as his mind struggles to make sense of the horror before him.
Ryvin leaps forward with a blazing knife and he belatedly reaches to try and stop her, but she is out of his reach to swiftly.
The the thing is birthed, and the crooning starts,
Will save DC 20: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17.
Reall?! :(
and Keelix starts numbly approaching the horrific creature along with the rest.
Litheene |
Will: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18. Ohh, bad. Vala - you have the same bonus as me, it's high, you have to make it
Litheene watches in horror at the sight of the tortured body. As the creature emerges, she tries forming weaves, but too slowly, half paralyzed but the horror in from of her.
With the song soothing her, the weaves fall apart, and she stumbles towards it.
Vala " the Swan" |
Vala sees the others unwittingly shamble to the body of this woman. To Vala it was a wretched sight. She felt pity for the woman, but not for the creature with in. So with her blade she strode forward and struck caring to kill the woman swiftly and be done with it.
Attack1(two handed): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35

Just curious, but did you miss the post when the creature came out of the woman and stood up?

very interesting indeed
Vala rushes forward, her twin blades descend upon the woman strapped to the chair, the blades strike true and separate the womans head from her body.
Everyone else, oblivious to the scene, steps towards the crooning creature. Ryvin, the closest, receives the creatures kiss.
