Vala " the Swan" |

I did miss that part, evil early mornings
Vala pivots and goes for the creature
attack1: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
attack2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Vala spins about, still hearing the croon of the fell beast. Unfortunetly, she just cannot reach the animal to silence its death call, due to her companions standing around the thing in absolute submissiveness.
ryvin, make another fort save, dc 20 to resist wisdom drain.
1d6 ⇒ 2

Ryvin Altessar |

Fortitude save 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11.
F-BOMB! Ahem. I should like to use this opportunity to make that second save you gave me after intimidating the innkeep.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 *Whew!* Vala? Please wake me up so I can break away? Thank you...

Litheene |

I don't think it's possible to just to just wake someone up, but if I understand the mechanics from the book correctly, and in line with similar effects, a damaging attack should give a second chance at the saving throw.
It makes more sense for Vala to attack me, because I have a high chance of making the save, then weaving to stop the song right away (I have quick embrace). However, she can maybe use some sort of whirlwind attack if she has any, to damage a few of us at once. We should probably be easy to without dex bonus to ac anyway, as we are mesmerized

Vala " the Swan" |

Hmmm okay
Vala gets in the middle of her companions and spins her fist leading as she intends to knock them free of the horrid crooning.
Whirlwind punch
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Ryvin Altessar |

Will save 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27. Whoo! Oh, kindly DM, I await your ruling: did that slap Ryvin awake and free to act, yay or nay?

Litheene |

I assumed it based on page 239 in core book, which lists Draghkar. Is says: "...A captivated creature becomes completely docile and moves toward the Draghkar, taking the most direct route available. If the path leads into a dangerous area (through flame, off a cliff, etc'), that creature gets a second saving throw.
Thus, from what I understand, if the captivated creature goes against survival-instinct/danger, it gets a second save. Besides, a swirling blade master's sword damaging you sounds like a "dangerous area" to me :)

RIZZENMAGNUS |

hmmm...im going to say no. The rules list it as getting another saving throw should the pc move through a threatening area, not if the pc is attacked from behind. As the rules say "A victim within 5 feet of the Draghkar stands helpless, offering no resistance to the shadowspawn's kiss".

Vala " the Swan" |

Rushes in a attacks the Draghkar with Arc of the Moon!
Blade Sense: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Save vs. Decapitation DC 15 or if a crit DC19

Ryvin Altessar |

Could she knock us out of the way with part of that whirlwind attack and at least direct one slash at the soul-sucking hob trying to reduce me from a Wilder to a Tamed...? ^^;

RIZZENMAGNUS |

no, she would need to do a reposition maneuver on one of you, or drag you out of the way, or use something with reach.
since vala missed the posting of not being within reach, i wont have the draghkar act today. but tomorrow i will, and ryvin has to fail a fort save some time...muwahaha!

RIZZENMAGNUS |

thought i had posted this this morning...
Vala grabs ryvin by the scruff of her neck, pulling Ryvin away from the creature. Just before it leaves its deathly embrace, it takes one last pull upon Ryvins soul.
Ryvin, another fort save please.
1d6 ⇒ 3

Vala " the Swan" |

With a free shot Vala attempts to do Arc of the Moon
Blade Sense: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Save v.Decapitation Fort DC15 or if a crit DC19

Keelix Andren |

Keelix shakes the fog out of his head, glancing down at the remains of the Dragkhar. Then he looks around intently at his companions to see if anyone has been harmed, "Thank you, Vala. Is everyone okay? What was that thing?"

Litheene |

Litheene stares about for a few moments before the song's effects are over.
Trying to not look at the shadowspawn remains or the body of the women on the table, Litheene finds occupation by silently going over to the table with the notes, looking over them to understand what they have stumbled upon.

Ryvin Altessar |

Ryvin blinks once or twice, and then goes shooting to her feet, wild-eyed and clutching the fiery dagger.
"I was..." she says, her face contorting in an expression of disgust. "It -- I... Urgh...!"
The Ebou Dari staggers off a few paces, drops to her knees and vomits helplessly into the filth already covering the floor.
"Its mouth...!" you can hear her whimper. "Its lips on mine, I -- I... Hkk!"
Shoulders heaving, Ryvin empties the contents of her stomach. Saidar abruptly blazes around her, the glorious aura crawling with red -- and briefly, black -- sparks before it settles down a little and Ryvin struggles back to her feet.

Keelix Andren |

With his sword held in one hand, Keelix drops to one knee beside Ryvin and with his other hand he collects her hair and holds it out of the way, trying to offer support while maintaining a vigilant watch.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

looking about the retched room, you 4 doors. One behind you is the door you came through, one opposite, one to your right and one to your left.

Ryvin Altessar |

"I want out of here," Ryvin says as she struggles back to her feet, leaning on Keelix. "The air is too close down here, and this place is foul. I want out."
Keelix may not be the only person to notice that Ryvin's legs are trembling, but the look on her face is more one of disgust than fear.

Keelix stands with Ryvin, and supports her easily, "And we will make it out." His tone allows for no other possible outcome.

Vala " the Swan" |

Vala cleans her blade as she seems unphased by the whole ordeal.
"We will get out of here, the more prominent question is how?"he says in an almost emotionless voice.

Litheene |

The notes ... Litheene says. These experiments were extensive, the woman was not the only one. T, D, G, I wonder. Back in the tunnel, I saw a vision, when falling in the water, of a trolloc being made. This was a Darghar. while keeping an experiment diary, one would specify the relevant conditions checked. Is it possible that T stands for trolloc, D for darghar, G for what? Gholam? small shudder I am not sure about the rest.
But why would something like this be so close to Tar Valon? Is this the black ajah working? Are capable of creating new shadow spawn? But the writing is of a man ... strange Litheene keeps to herself, this is a discussion for when they are out of there.

Keelix Andren |

Keelix releases Ryvin as soon as she is stable on her feet, and walks to the left door, listening carefully at the door without touching it.
I assume his scent ability is pretty much useless right now?
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23.

Keelix Andren |

A slightly puzzled look crosses Keelix's face as he moves to the center door and repeats the process.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26.

Keelix Andren |

Concern and not a small amount of anger flickers across his face, but he moves to the last door and listens there as well.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34.
I suppose I could have sped up this whole process by giving more actions ahead of time. Sorry.

Keelix Andren |

Keelix stays near the third door, a look of hatred and alarm on his face.
He beckons for Vala and Stephen to come closer, attempting to pantomime snouts and horns and pointing to the door.

Ryvin Altessar |

Ryvin fixes the second door with a deadly glare, and raises a hand, index finger pointing forward. "Make sure there is nothing but Shadowspawn in there," she whispers. "I'll lob in a Fireball."
