I have been using hero lab and have been experimenting with different builds. So far I like the one that focuses on the wild shape. I may focus on being a caster but so far the wild shape route appeals to me the most.

I think I am actually going to go for the Lilliend Bard. In the spirit of fairness I think the GM should rule that the lilliend gets the bard achetypes class abilities that will replace the standard performances, other wise I get the archetype abilities, and the standard bard performances, but if he gives me both I won't complain. :)

Bump.

Also, what time does recruitment close on the 15th?

I'm not going to set a specific time that it will close on the 15th, mainly because my schedule for this week is suffering from some modest disruptions due to an emergency visit to the vet... so, can't be sure when I'll get caught up and therefore be out of work on the 15th.

As far as the archetype abilities... yes, I'm willing to allow them to replace the standard racial option for the Lilliend

I will try to get a background story up soon, hopefully before the recruitment closes.

cool im+8 GMT so thats handy

Woot!

Thank you Ipad

Still around. I am holding off on fully updating Akor until I find out if I am chosen as I might use him in a different game, if I am not.

Dang! Found this too late.
Love to play a Planetar/Paladin 9 or Solar, but no way to get a proper character in shape in time...;(

You only have to submit the background. If you get chosen you will be given time to do the mechanics.

PS:Why am I encouraging competition? Nevermind move along, nothing to see here. :)

Xailu is an advanced Lillend bard 17(archaeologist archetype). While most Lillend are female Xailu is male. Another unique aspect is that while most outsiders that are ascended from mortal souls don't remember their mortal life Xailu was transformed from a mortal into a Lillend just before his death. In order to understand why this took place we must revisit Xailu's mortal when he was a human(Tien) who committed many selfless acts. Xailu often adventured not for fame or fortune for the advancement of humanity as whole. If a region was plagued by disease or some monster he was quick to go against it, not even asking for payment. Because of his generosity however people often gave him more than he needed to go into battle, even though he often used his many abilities to avoid battles. This led him to the fame and fortune he never seeked. Hardly one to spend money on extravagances for himself, most of what was given to him that was not needed was gifted to the poor. He eventually set up several charities that would take care of those who were less fortunate long after he was gone. He enjoyed what he did for many years, until he could not adventure anymore, then he became an arbitrator. He not only helped to settle disagreements between groups, but also between nations. It is rumored that he stopped a war or two before it even began. Xailu often criticized people for focusing too much on being able to end a fight, than to make sure the fight never took place, and it was this philosophy that led him to be selected as a member of the Custodian. Not wanting him to lose any part of himself he was transformed into a Lillend with memories in tact.

Xailu's personal agenda is to enforce the welfare of people(creatures) as a whole, while avoiding violence as much as possible. He does not really agree with the idea of balance, and if good were about to somehow vanquish evil from the universe the would not take part in any exercise that went against that. He has given his word to not confront the other members, but that does not mean he will follow their “every whim” as he likes to see it. He does not have anyone close to him other than the Custodians. His ideals of making things better for everyone is his main motivation.

Xailu is very laid back when not on a mission. If not in a conversation he is often studying , trying to learn more as much as he can. When he is on a mission he does not care a lot about red tape. If he thinks the rules are in the way of progress then the rules can be broken. He once used a combination of charm person along with diplomacy to get two nations to sign a peace treaty.

His dwelling in Astrarium is no much to look at considering his stature. He has a decent sized house for a creature of his size, and while he does have special items he puts on display for visitors, when nobody is around the house is somewhat plain, with most of his belongings function over form.

My character will make a good party face, and secondary combatant. He will also be decent with knowledge skills, and he will have a high perception. There will not be many situations where he won't be useful.

Not to kill my chances or anything, but I feel like i'm going to be picked, because most submissions are either Monsters that wouldn't be useful (in my opinion) except in combat (which they would probably help alot), and there are have been an ungodly (sorry, bad pun) amount spellcaster submissions. I'm one of the only submissions that doesn't use spells, and I might actually be the only non-monster PC (unless you count the Advanced Template, but i'm not). I don't have time to go back through the posts, so I may be 100% wrong, it's happened before, and it will likely happen again.

It really depends on the DM and playstyle. The thing about epic more so then normal play is you dont need to fill the triditional roles. A non spellcaster is not needed as badly sense things at this lvl can eat, throw, or fly you out of reach that without some kind of magic your not likely to recover from in time to be useful. Thats why melee types are gear dependent to maximize their usefulness.

Just make your character and hope for the best. ;)

Here's my attempt at a list of what's been submitted so far:

Dm Jelani/Skulda - Advanced Half-Celestial Norn Monk
Baron of the Sands - Advanced Oread Monk/Fighter
OmniChaos - Aasimar Wizard/Celric/MT
Isonaroc - Changeling Witch/Savant
Monkeygod - Aasimar Inquisitor
Sol-Alar De Xin Min - Advanced Drow Noble Synthesist Summoner/Shadow Dancer
Ricky Bobby - Advanced Half-Celestial Aasimar Stormborn Sorcerer/Savant
Xara Ozolins - Half-Elf Master Summoner
Berenzen - Human Ranger/Fighter
Cuan/Hailani - Back to drawing board
Sigz/Kikubwa - Awakened Ape Barbarian/Ranger
Dm Fnord - Advanced Doppleganger Wizard

Just to double check: From what I can see, the only changes to Skulda's list are:

-Xara Ozolins withdrawn.
-Grand Moff Vixen submitted a Druid
-Mr Swagger submitted a Lillend Bard.

If there is anyone who I missed or who I've got the wrong character for, let me know.

Kikubwa should be an awakened advanced dire-ape.

If you are not liking the doppelganger, I can drop that for human.

When are you going to announce your group Fnord?

I should also mention that I plan on the advanced template for the crunch.

Alrighty. I'd like to thank everyone for their submissions. Picking among them was far from easy. If anyone would like to ask why you didn't get picked or for feedback, please feel free to PM me.

In the end, I decided to go with a group of five characters. It should allow for a relatively robust campaign, without leaving the gameplay crippled if someone goes missing. If someone does drop out, I might contact others from this list to see if they're still interested, and I might do an open recruitment again... it will depend, I suspect, on how far along we are.

So, the following people should head on over to the discussion thread, where I will be getting up a post with the collected rules for finalized mechanics within the next 24 hours.

-DM Fnord
-DM Jelani/Skulda
-Sigz
-Grand Moff Vixen
-Mr. Swagger

Thank you, once again, to everyone who applied.

The Exchange

Dang it. I wish I'd seen this earlier. I was going to put forth an arcane trickster, but checked the last page of the thread to make sure that the recruitment was still going on, and sure enough, it's closed. Oh well.

It was fun just making the PC, have fun guys.

Good luck and lots of adventure to you. ;)

DAMN IT. Good thing I didn't write down anything.

Good Gaming to the lot who didn't make the cut and see the rest in game :)
