Janna - The Storm Maiden |

Round 4
Janna briefly holds her arms outstretched at shoulder height, and she makes a single twirl and the very air around her moves with her. creating a light gentle breeze around her.
she then circles around some tree stumps and enters the mist, hoping that the light breeze she conjured is enough to give her some visibility.
cast Breeze, the move into the mist ... see map

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Round 4
Taking a deep breath, Damien rips the quarrel out of his shoulder as the young priest mends the wound, "Much obliged son."
Narrowing his eyes at the mist, Damien shoulders his long hammer. Retrieving the shortsword from his belt, he steps closer to the arcanely obscured area.
Turning to Kev he smirks, "Probably best if you go first. I'm right behind you."
"Work round the bastards. Keep them hemmed in. They're no better off than any of us inside this crap!"
Free Action : Maintain Inspire Courage
Move Action : Sheath Hammer
Move Action : Move and draw shortsword
Buffs: Inspire Courage : +1 Atk/Dam, +1 vs fear
Remember to add your bonuses from Inspire Courage guys!
Jerrid, I don't think you get your sneak attack damage due to the concealment :(

Kevezyat Faen |

Round 4
Kevezyat nods in approval as Leoven tends to Damien's wounds. Looking the half-elf over after his comment, her lip curls a bit in amusement, "As you wish..."
She then eyes the blob of mist spread before them, approximating the center. Then, pausing, she looks Damien right in the eye and winks, then advances into the mist...
Grimmy, she's headed for the centre of the mist, thinking that the caster is possiby still there. I guess you'll let us know if we see anyone? Kevezyat really doesn't know where anyone is...

Vhillish Quarrelwick |

Round 4
Status: 31/31 HP
Actions: Load (Move) and Attack (Standard)
Buffs: Arcane Strike, Inspire Courage
Keen to his former lieutenant's voice in any battlefield, Vhillish heeds his shouted orders and keeps making his way to a flanking point that grants an overwatch of the battle;
Full Round Action: Run (x3 movement = 60ft)

DM Grimmy |
Grimmy, she's headed for the centre of the mist, thinking that the caster is possiby still there. I guess you'll let us know if we see anyone? Kevezyat really doesn't know where anyone is...
If they are stealthed I'll hide the token and give a perception DC. Right now, if the token is on the map, you can see that NPC as long as you are adjacent.

DM Grimmy |
Jarra the sorceress winces as Jerrid's sickle slices her leg.
Korungra the half-orc sustains an even more serious wound from Samduc's apple pairing knife, but the halflings' new magic dagger doesn't find it's mark.
Janna's weather effects clear out a corner of the mist, allowing her to see her immediate surrounding clearly, but none of the enemies are revealed in the section she cleared.
The eagle's continue to harass the elven monk.

Round 4 - Jarra
Jarra was just conjuring another pair of eldritch missiles to slay Jerrid when the drow paladin appeared from the mist behind her wielding a huge sword. Fear washes over the sorceresses face.
Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Jarra loses her spell and provokes an AoO from Kevezyat.
The fire beetle chomps Jerrid.
Bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 miss
Edit: No AoO, see below

DMG |

Jarra calls out to her companion, "Darkral, to my side! Protect me!"
Round 4 - Darkral
The elven monk moves past Jarra to get behind Kevezyat Faen, ignoring the eagles as they rake at him with their talons.
provokes AoO from all four eagles, and Kevezyat
Darkral attempts to knock Kev's sword from her hands.

Eagle AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Note that if kev succes in her AoO Darkral will get a penalty to that CMB - EDIT: asuming that AoO was for the lack of improved disarm

DMG |

Round 4 - Vorgya and Zalatha
Zalatha is about to quaff a potion when Vorgya hisses to him, "No time for that you lilly, lets cut down that storm genie, now!"
The pair move to either side of Janna, leaving Zalatha visible to Janna and Damien at the edge of the mist. As for Vorgya she passes by Kevezyat and ends up outside the mist altogether in order to get Janna surrounded the way she wants, but Vorgya pays no heed to Damien or Kev for the moment, focusing on slaying the magic user.
Zalatha Dagger: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15 hit?
Damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
Vorgya Dagger: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9 miss
I forget if Janna has mage armor up, no status effects listed in her last post

DM Grimmy |
Note that if kev succes in her AoO Darkral will get a penalty to that CMB - EDIT: asuming that AoO was for the lack of improved disarm
The provocation I cited was for movement, he is trying to get Kev to burn her AoO so she doesn't have an AoO left for the disarm attempt :)
Maybe we should use opposed Bluff vs Sense Motive if Kev wants to save her AoO for the disarm? Leo can roll to assist (he can just see what the monk is up to there at the edge of mist.)
Darkral Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Janna - The Storm Maiden |

no mage armor, Janna is not currently buffed at all. except the inspire

round 4 follow-up
concentration: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Just as the blade was about to pierce Janna with but a simple wave of her hand Janna suddenly becomes a part of the breeze negating the hit.
immediate action cast Windy Escape to give Janna DR 10/magic and immunity to poison, sneak and crits for that one attack

Damien "Wet" Winters |

It's Jerrid who's rocking the mage armor atm.
My memory is a little vague. We use a slight house rule that says positioning like Vorgya and Zalatha's counts as flanking right? Or is Vorgya in the wrong place?
EDIT : Though Janna seems to be doing just fine without the armor :P

Kevezyat Faen |

Yeah, I was assuming the AoO was for the disarm attempt....
Round 4
Kevezyat emerged from the mist only feet from the bandit leader, Jarra. So jarred by the paladin's appearance, the woman fumbled her incantation and mere sparks fell from her hands onto the hidden ground below.
Jarra's shout brought her companion through the mist, converging on Kevezyat's location. His movements were strange, an unfamiliar pattern, Kevezyat, in the moment, allowed her training to determine just what the strange elf was up to...
Sense Motive to determine Darkral's intent: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Scowling, she sees in his actions the intent to close with her and attempt to wrest her sword from her. Allowing the elf to get close, within the arc of her sword, Kevezyat twists her wrists and at the same time steps out to the side, leaving the bandit's side exposed...
Standard Attack, Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 - 1 = 18
Miss chance,20%: 1d100 ⇒ 100 ok
Damage: 2d6 + 3 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 3 + 3 + 1 = 14
So, now a penalty of 14 on his disarm attempt...fail! Assuming the 18 hit :)

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Round 5
"Janna, get your breezy backside out of there!"
Attempting to take some of the heat off his employer before one of the sneaks can land a proper blow, Damien cuts a wide path to the severely injured Zalatha and thrusts hard with his shortsword. Unfortunately the magical shadows throw off his aim and he hits only air.
"Damn! Janna, finish her! She's barely on her feet!
"Keep pressing the pricks. They're getting desperate!"

Leoven action: Double move
Surrender!... Please!

DM Grimmy |
Vorgya sneers at Leoven.
"Ha! It is you who should surrender, priest! Or better yet retreat! You will not be shown mercy! The dark elf and the storm genie will look very pretty at the Gold Palms in Bard's Gate, after they've developed a taste for blue lotus blossom in the steam baths at the Dreams of Feng!"
After threatening Leoven she shouts to her cleric on the other side of the mist.
"Korungra!! Darkral is fallen and Zalatha is hurt! Tell your death-god he cannot take these agents today!"

Janna - The Storm Maiden |

Janna quickly realizes she is not in a very healthy spot, the eye of this storm is far from calm.
ha, and you thought I was just a harmless breeze... and two arcs of lightning strike Zalatha
5' step back to where Damien once was

Samduc Dawnbringer |

Round 5 Sam delay to flank with Lannet
5' step and full attack
Sam delays and points to the other side of the orc priest for Lannet to move and take the clear area outside the cloud.
After Lannet moves, Sam shifts into the mist and flanks with Lannet and his two daggers flash, his magic dagger cuts deep.
attack +1 dagger: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 1 + 2 - 1 = 25

DM Grimmy |
Vorgya, not knowing that the cleric has fallen, watches Zalatha and Darkral on the ground shrouded in mist, expecting healing energy to wash over them any second.
"Korungra! NOW!! Korungra??" The leader of the agents curses under her breath when she hears no response from her cleric. "Jarra! We are defeated. Ride to Crimmor and tell Wistus the deputy of Fairhill is in league with our enemies!"
Kevezyat and Vhillish are up.

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Damien shouts into the mist, "You'd best listen to the boy, mage. We're past the point where you make it out of this. Come on out of that mist quietly and you've my word we'll not kill you here and now."

Samduc Dawnbringer |

Seeing the half-orc priest stricken and falling, Sam nimbly leaps onto the orc, his momentum and mass bearing the priest into the rolling mist. As they fall to the ground, Sam can't help but wonder, if an evil priest falls in the obscuring mist, and his evil god is not there to hear him, does he made a sound?
What does an evil priest carry around these days?

Kevezyat Faen |

Round 5
Kevezyat is still as a statue as she brings her bloodied sword to her side once more, then raises it , pointing at the mage's sternum "Yield." she says conversationally "Your friend fall quickly...cancel the mist that surrounds us, and you have the word of Freya's Chosen that you be treated fairly."
Readied Action, Standard Attack if she tries to cast another spell

DMG |

Round 5 - Jarra and Vorgya
Vorgya steps away from the clawing eagle and quaffs a potion, instantly becoming invisible.
Invisible Stealth: 1d20 + 6 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 20 = 28
Seizing the reigns, Jarra spurs her horse to ride out of the mist and leap over the fallen tree.
Kevezyat immediately gets one AoO with 20% miss chance against Jarra, and Vhillish and Jerrid still get their turns from Round 5. After that everyone can take one additional turns worth of actions to take parting shots at Jarra if desired before she's out of range, or attempt to locate the invisible Vorgya somehow.

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Round 6
Damien is already in motion by the time the time the potion touches the rogue's lips. "Get the mage!", he bellows as he barrels forward and dives into the seemingly thin air where Vorgya disappeared seconds ago.
Full-Round Action : Charge Vorgya's square
Free Action : Maintain Inspire Courage
Grapple: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 23
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 76 Whew!
Buffs: Inspire Courage : +1 Atk/Dam, +1 vs fear
Vorgya gets an AoO on Damien for the attempted grapple, though it would break her invisibility to take it.
On another note, I could be wrong but I think Jarra is owed a couple AoO's from the eagles in addition to Kev?

Damien "Wet" Winters |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Sadly her hit means I actually miss the grapple as well. At least she's not getting away any more.
The materializing rogue's knife sinks deep under Damien's armpit causing the half-elf to stumble in his charge, grasping fingers slipping past his target.
Gritting teeth hard against the pain, the veteran smirks at the now visible rogue, even as a trickle of blood drips from the corner of his mouth, "and there goes your escape plan..."

Jerrid Kinslarn |

Round 6
Jerrid steps past the beetle in the mist and desperately tries to grab the mage and drag her off the horse.
Grapple 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6
Then when the mage tries to escape he tries it again, aiming for silk cloak.
Grapple 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
But the horse is just too tall, he could jump until he was old and grey and not get it done.

Kevezyat Faen |

Round 5
Kevezyat is not surprised when the bandits do not accept the terms of surrender. She moves forward suddenly as Jarra attempts to flee...
AoO, Standard Attack, Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 - 1 = 20
Miss chance, 20%: 1d100 ⇒ 38 OK
Damage: 2d6 + 3 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 + 3 + 1 = 17
