Astor looks in horror as the bodies of the farmer and his family are discovered. He immediatly draws his sword, readying himself for whatever may come. He follows behind Jerrid, trying to be just as sneaky.

Damien surveys the carnage slowly, his face unreadable.

As Vhillish and Kev assess the damage he stows his crossbow and retrieves his hammer, "Bandits rarely bother with poison, nor do they leave behind the kind of stench your kind look for ma'am. We're dealing with something nasty here, likely hired some help."

With Jerrid and Astor moving around back he motions to the other 5, "Stick close, I'll take point."

Damien moves slowly towards the front door of the house hammer at the ready.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10


As you move about the farm, Janna suddenly hears a familiar voice. He looks over and sees Vortigern and two large men with bows drawn, just inside the cover of the surrounding woods some 60 feet away. Vortigern has his familiar — the devil-eyed raven — perched on his shoulder and he is reading a scroll.

As Vortigern finishes reading the scroll, the raven transforms into a small, devilish, winged creature and with a hideous shriek flies off Vortigern’s shoulder and immediately goes invisible. Instantly, the ground comes alive.

Skeletal hands claw through the ground and begin to encircle the party!

Was there soft cover after moving to B9? No problem, just wanted to make a reasonable shot, didn't count on a -8. Blowing your first attack as a rogue is surely anticlimactic

seeing herself nearly surrounded she decides she better get out of the situation before they emerge.

Samduc's quarrel hits the zombie within the fenced area. It seems it would normally shrug off such an attack, being more vulnerable to weapons that slice and dice. Samduc's well-placed shot however snaps a tendon, resulting in a debilitating wound.

Janna already disappointed in herself for forgetting her necromancy lessons so soon, she suddenly does recall a little rhyme about zombies.

that's it! Blunt weapons! You need blunt weapons against these guys, they have no blood so sword and spear will not work Janna calls out hoping her silly ditty holds true.

Vhillish's crossbow bolt finds it's mark despite Vortigern lurking behind the cover of trees. Unfortunately, a shimmering field of magical energy can momentarily be seen as the crossbow bolt harmlessly glances off the wizard, leaving him unfazed!

The skeletons fully animate and the zombies stand upright.

Astors sword comes down on a newly formed skeleton. Despite the blade being relatively ineffective against bone, the sheer strength of the blow shatters the creature into shards of bone!

It seems to be a little late but I'd have figured Leovan would have followed the plan and moved back...

In another funny thing I noticed. Astor managed a beautiful blow but I think rolling 1d20 for damage may have been a little overzealous :P

Oh and it might actually make a difference, you forgot to add Inspire to Vhillish's shot!

Actually janna be really down, the magic missiles took her down then the bow shot added to that putting her at -7 of course the arrow maynowmiss due to the additional +4 to ac for being prone.
