Astor smiles a bit as he watches the zombie fall, then turns his attention to the two skeletons bearing down on him. Having not had the chance to switch out his weapons he decides to do the best he can with his sword. He reels back and tries to put enough oomph into his swing to hit both!

Kevezyat Faen |

@ Kevezyat: The flail does not prove very effective against the zombie. Only 2 damage. It continues to harass you.
I skipped you somehow in Round 3, take another turn now.
Alrighty then!! :)
Having managed to move the zombie off of her somewhat, and seeing that the flail was proving ineffective, Kevezyat discards the flail and reaches out and grabs her greatsword. Her swing is awkward but the weight of the sword and the conviction of her faith guides it home.

Astor Evisthan |

Riding the high from watching the skeletons fall too pieces, Astor heads towards the woods to help finish off the rest of their foes.
Double move to L12

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Gods do I hate practical enemies :P
Damien growls at Vortigern's hired hands, "Seems you boss has up and left you behind boys. Might be a good time to give yourselves up? Other option involves a whole lot of blood."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Might as well go full in on this then :)
Damien shifts away from the two opponents, weapon at the ready but no longer actively engaging them.
"Sergeant, Samduc, kindly feather these idiots if they insist on pressing a lost engagement!"

Kevezyat Faen |

Round 5, Init 32
Watching the zombie fall to pieces after her attack, Kevezyat levers herself up off of the ground, then pauses to offer a quick prayer to these unfornate souls so brutally taken from this world, then used so cavalierly in the furtherance of evil.
Taking a deep breath, she takes in the situation around her.
Eyes narrowing, she looks to where Vortigern had disappeared, extending her senses to percieve his black soul.
Detect Evil

Samduc Dawnbringer |

Round 6 Sammy Init 30 - loaded sm lt xbow in hand
Sammy looks over the fallen creatures carefully, seeing if they have anything of value.
What do they have in their pocketses?

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Damiens spares a shake of his head at the two mercenaries close with him, "Idiots..."
His long hammer lashes out to strike the first of them to try closing with him.
I'm honestly not sure which of them that would be, Grenaag maybe?.

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Round 6 Init 5
Damien looks down at the two with an almost disappointed expression, "They never listen..."
Turning his attention back to matters at hand, he turns on the newly arrived dwarf, "And just who in the blazes are you? ...it'll have to wait!"
He raises his voice to the others, "Does anyone have eyes on the mage or his slippery friend? If you see him, fire, we're not taking any chances with that one!"
He casts his gaze around looking for any sign of Vortigern while he slings his hammer and unlimbers his own crossbow.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Free Action : Maintain Inspire Courage
Move Action : Sheath Hammer
Move Action : Draw Crossbow

Damien "Wet" Winters |

I take it we're done with initiative then?
Damien watches the trees for a few moments, seeing no immediate way to locate the mage, he turns his attention back to the dwarf.
His crossbow levels at the newcomer's chest, he cocks an eyebrow, "There's no denying we appreciate the help, but just who are you? Good samaritan or do you also have a beef with that slippery sorcerer?"

Kevezyat Faen |

Kevezyat calls out to Damien "Well struck!" then watches without surprise as Jerrid reveals his subterfuge.
She then sorrowfully looks down at the zombie she'd dispatched...the goodwife of the homestead.
Rolling her shoulders in weariness, she ventures into the barn and finds a shovel. She then begins to dig out three graves behind the barn, all the while praying softly to Freya to guide these unfortunate sould to their final resting place.

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Damien lowers the crossbow, muttering mostly to himself, "Sneaky devil..."
Turning he hustles back to Janna and the others, "Is she going to make it Leo? It'd be just our luck if the bastard did her in to boot...", despite his tone, the half-elf seems genuinely concerned.

Vhillish Quarrelwick |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Vhillish too lowers his arbalest, narrowing his eyes at the shape-shifting deep gnome afore whispering an aside to him;
"Begging your pardon Master Kinslarn, mind how you go with that enchanted subterfuge... Lurking strangers are more oft than not foes rather than friends..."
The diminutive serjeant then approaches his officer;
"Bloody well hammered sah! Thinking might be prudent to have a mooch about and see if we can pick up the blaggard's trail... Will likely be colder than a snowman's carrot, but we'll give it a 33rd try sah!?"

Damien "Wet" Winters |

Damien nods to the Sergeant, "It's certainly worth a shot, though I imagine him and his little git are presently making a beeline for this tower of theirs. Lets get Janna on her feet again then we'll go see if we can pick up their trail."
As the others see to their employer, he moves to help Kevezyat dig out the three graves. He frowns at the collected bodies, "I thought this was supposed to be some quarrel between hot headed apprentices. She didn't say anything about him being a damned murderer..."

Astor Evisthan |

Astor slows to a halt once the last enemy falls. He walks towards the makeshift graves, quickly wiping his sword on his pants as he goes. I'm getting used to this... he thinks to himself. Battle, blood, undead. It's becoming routine, not someone else's story.
"I can help." He begins to follow Jerrid, gathering stone. He didn't even know how to mention the whole disquise thing. That was beyond him. At this point he was just happy to not be injured.

Samduc Dawnbringer |

Sam asks Jerrid to ensure that no one is able to spy, Not even an invisible little evil guy.
Offhandedly he whispers conspiratorially: "No worries--I got the amulet. Let's continue. Be sure to act like it is gone."

DM Grimmy |
Janna’s worst fear has come to pass, but now your encounter with Vortigern and his minions is over. It gets too late to look for other lodging, so you light the fire in the fireplace of the farmhouse and bar the door. You clean the blood from your blade and tend to your wounds as well as those of your comrades. You set watch, and each of you says a silent prayer to your respective gods that the spirits of your foes find their rest and trouble you no further this night. You eventually drift off to sleep, but your sleep is fitful — filled with Talon’s devilish screams.
You wake to the sound of rain and gray skies. The sun, even hidden behind the clouds, is a welcome sight.

Janna - The Storm Maiden |

I'm rolling Leoven's CLW, Janna has sat out a long time.
[dice=CLW]1d8+1
guess what... Janna is now at -1 hp - still out cold
so... regain 1 hp from resting putting her at 0 but she uses an action to get up dropping her back to -1 and out again....don't ya love the game system in all of its wackiness :)
