I moved Gorwyn and Conflaviel across the river (jumping across), hope this was ok. The checks are also high enough to cross the log.
Acrobatics Gorwyn: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Acrobatics Conflaviel: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Initiative Akiko: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Initiative Eryndir: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Initiative Gorwyn: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Initiative Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Initiative Periel: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
Initiative Janira: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Initiative Minotaur: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Surprise Round
Eryndir
Janira
Lore
Periel
Gorwyn
Akiko
Minotaur
and remember, either move or attack in a surprise round
Periel the Pure |
Periel will as a free action use his holy smite ability on the minotaur, then as a standard action partial charge it.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 141d10 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
If Lore starts singing add one to hit and one to damage.
Eryndir |
+1to all if inspiration is happening
Surprise round Arrow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Round 1
Arrow flurry: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Arrow flurry: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Clearly the Minotaur goes down from those arrows...the Minotaur hiding in the bushes 209 feet to the right!
Clearly, Eryndir is still struggling to get used to the bright light after so much time underground.
GM Baerlie |
Yes, Gorwyn and Conflaviel also get a surprise round turn :)
Reflex DC 14: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Eryndir's arrow hits the grass behind the minotaur. Lore makes the ground under the minotaur slippery and the minotaur falls prone. With the minotaur prone the charge attacks of Periel and Akiko hit their target.
Surprise Round
Eryndir
Janira
Lore
Periel
Gorwyn + Conflaviel
Akiko
Minotaur (prone) -20HP
waiting for Gorwyn's and Conflaviel's turn before starting with Round 1
GM Baerlie |
Gorwyn and Conflaviel move closer to the minotaur.
Round 1 actions which were already posted
Eryndir shoots two arrows at the minotaur, but both do not find their target. Janira can see you coming. She's injured and sees the minotaur already on the floor so she takes a step back and continues singing. Periel and Akiko attack again and they both hit the minotaur really hard. The minotaur starts to bleed heavily.
Round 1
Eryndir
Janira
Lore
Periel
Gorwyn + Conflaviel
Akiko
Minotaur (prone) -40HP
Gorwyn |
Gorwyn and Conflaviel move in on either side of the minotaur, with Conflaviel provoking an AoO in so doing (assuming the Minotaur has 10ft reach); Gorwn just takes a five-foot step, so does not provoke.
Assuming Conflaviel survives the AoO, both of them attack with their morningstars.
Die rolls include +2 for flank, but do not include any possible bonus from bardic performance, or for the Minotaur being prone. (I believe the latter is a penalty to AC, in any event.)
Gorwyn Morningstar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Conflaviel Morningstar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Periel the Pure |
"We could have attacked it before. But our duty was clear... to obey your orders. We can report that we found in the cave a gillman praying at an abandoned shrine of aroden. Also a pit and a few mites and some zombies. Those threats have been neutralized. The shrine is, by the way, modeled after the city of Absolom."
With that the Paladin finishes his reports.
Gorwyn |
"Indeed," Gorwyn says, adding to the report. "The gillmen seem to revere the shrine, and they come down here to meditate at it. Some of them then go further into the caves. There is a lot of iconography related to Aroden near the shrine that is a miniature model of Absalom. The gillmen are not worshipping Aroden himself, however."
"I assume that we should write down much of this and submit it back at the Grand Lodge for the Society's records...."
GM Baerlie |
You meet Janira at the cave entrance and she guides you back to Absalom where you meet the Master of Scrolls again. He congratulates you as well and hands a brand new Wayfinder to all of you. Every Wayfinder with your personal initials. You are now official Pathfinders.
"Congratulations, young Pathfinders! What you found in the caves is important for us all. We will send a team of historians to examine the authenticity of the wall carvings and the model of Absalom. Maybe you found an amazing treasure of history under the Kortos Mounts. Also the incident with the dhampir will be inspected." Kreighton Shaine says.
