In the spirit of randomness, I'm going to randomly generate the background of my half-orc ninja.

Name: Ren (Real name not public knowledge, ninjas like their privacy)

Homeland: 1d100 ⇒ 76 No true homeland.
Parents: 1d100 ⇒ 5 Both parents alive, which seems to be true only for 10% of half orcs.
Siblings: 1d100 ⇒ 16
---# Siblings: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
-----Sibling 1: 1d100 ⇒ 15
-----Sibling 2: 1d100 ⇒ 23
-----Sibling 3: 1d100 ⇒ 29

Circumstance of Birth: 1d100 ⇒ 2 Lower-class. Not very surprising.

Parent's Profession: 2d20 ⇒ (11, 17) = 28 Entertainers. Ren's parents were a weird pair.

Major Childhood Event: 1d100 ⇒ 19 Competition Champion.

Rogue Background (loosely interpreted): 1d100 ⇒ 51 The Trained. Exactly what I wanted. :)

Influential Associate: 1d100 ⇒ 4 The Hunter.

Moral Conflict: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Seduced...
---Subject: 1d20 ⇒ 1 ... a commoner ...
---Motivation: 1d10 ⇒ 10 ... for fun. And she'd do it again! Because she won't get enough CP otherwise.

Romantic Relationships: 1d20 ⇒ 12 I'm already on a romance-themed game, so I'm bumping it to the closest acceptable, that is, Several Inconsequential Relationships.

Character Drawback: 1d100 ⇒ 57 Religion? I have enough religious characters already, so I'll reroll.

Character Drawback 2: 1d100 ⇒ 34 Now that's more like it! Screw spirituality, I want Material Wealth. :P

In a world rampart with prejudice, Ren's family was never able to settle down anywhere for long. She didn't mind much, however, for she always had her parents, both very talented lute players, and her three younger orc siblings, who were getting into trouble all the time. Life was mostly tolerable, seldom terrible and sometimes enjoyable. She even won a major tightrope-walking competition. (She still has the torphy and is terribly proud of it) However, her victory caught the attention of a secretive group of stealthy killers from a far-away land who offered her a chance to join them. Ren wasn't entirely sure of it at first, but her love for wearing pajamas overcame, and she accepted. During her training in a secluded mountain village, she befriended a gruff hermit who seemed to dislike everyone else, and used her charming nature to seduce a poor farmers naive spouse, just to see if she could do it. Afterwards, she bragged about her morally-questionable deed to the whole town. The word reached the farmer's ears, and because the farmer knew a guy who knew a guy who had connections, Ren was forced to flee the town. Having just completed her ninja training, she asked her first assignment to be somewhere very far away. With lots of stuff to loot, preferably.

Phew! The background generator gives you a lot of stuff to work with, it gets kind of cluttered with only one paragraph. :)

Shadow Lodge

With the +4 I might be able to make a character. For archetypes would racial archetypes from the ARG for races other then what I rolled (elf) be possible choices for the 1d4? Cause I'm thinking Hedge Witch, Scarred Witch Doctor (Orc), Beast-Bonded, or Bonded Witch (Half Elf).

I have a huge short story in mind for Drofnow now, but I'll try to whittle it down to a single paragraph for now:

Name: Drofnow
Race: Half-Orc
Class: Sorcerer
Alignment: Lawful Neutral

STR: 16
DEX: 13
CON: 18
INT: 13
WIS: 16
CHA: 14

Backstory: Raised in a former human settlement outside of Pashow in Thuvia, Drofnow learned from Snagrud, the orc general that had adopted her, how to become a strong, noble warrior in order to fend off the occasional human militias from Pashow. Despite her prowess, Drofnow was only truly happy during the occasional yet still surprisingly frequent storms that would deluge the desert town and fill its conveniently built water harvesting systems. Even her dreams were filled with stormy weather that would calm her down. Eventually, a clergyman from a temple of Nethys managed to convince Snagrud to send water to Pashow, as the settlement was designed to, in exchange for food and a cease-fire between the two camps. One day, Drofnow was ordered to retrieve the food, only to destroy the water delivery system and the clergyman delivering the food. The clergyman, however, recognized the half-orc and called her by name. Startled, Drofnow eventually learned from clergyman Drangus that not only was he the founder of the settlement, he was Drofnow's true father. Knowing this to be true, Drofnow agreed to let Drangus go. As Drangus left, he left behind a symbol of Nethys attached to four platinum coins and relayed his family's credo to his long-lost daughter -- "Follow the Storm." Drofnow still used her immense strength to destroy the water system, knowing full well that, with Drangus still alive, the humans of Pashow would easily launch a full-scale war on the orcs. She had no home in Pashow, despite her true father living there. Also, she knew Snagrud would instantly disown, if not kill, her for not killing Drangus. Thus, she left the area and her warrior past behind. She would find a new life by following the last words her true lineage left behind -- "Follow the Storm."

(Dang, that's still a doozy of a paragraph.)

Just so everyone knows, we are using the extra four points. You don't have to use it if you don't want.

What do I do about alignment (CN-Paladin)

As promised, the background for Narciso Krays:

Narciso Kryas feels the best way to worship Cayden Caladin is through emulation of the deity's mortal life: wandering across Golorian and fighting for just causes. While technically a mercenary, he only asks for token payments so long as his employers have noble intentions. His generosity leaves him in a constant state of poverty, after his not unsubstantial alcohol expenses he can rarely afford lodgings. He is never seen without a heavy keg of ale strapped to his back, even going so far as to carry it into combat. The weight of the load reminds him of the burdens of tyranny and slavery thousands are still forced to endure. He never drinks from this keg himself, but reserves it for those who need the relief from the suffering, keeping extra tankards on hand for the occasion. In addition to this keg he keeps a dozen wine-skins on his person for himself and his allies to enjoy. His biggest flaw is a tendency towards inappropriate behavior while drinking, leading most people to have a negative first impression of him. Indeed, this is why he operates without much support from the church: people want jolly drunks as their clerics as opposed to obnoxious ones. Still, if one could get past their first impressions they would find Narciso to be a noble and valuable ally.

@Jules1 - I mentioned this in the original post. If the alignment you roll is illegal you re-roll. In the case of a paladin there is only one alignment so you are LG.

A few changes-

Power attack (i don't meet prequs) -> breath of experience
Absolute loyalty -> Devine artist (preform) dance

Remove knowlage (religion)
Add preform (dance)

I didn't. It isn't required, people just seem to like randomizing more then they need too.

Name Arkavus 'Light Shell' Lyehell
Background
As most half-elves Arkavus has been shunned, provoked and attacked by people that didn't know better. Through his experiences early on in life he became studious and somewhat secluded within the walls of the magic academy. Whereas most trainee wizards had laid their focus on aggressive and powerful magics to win a fight, Arkavus went the opposite direction, avoiding a fight by preventing it or shielding himself from harm. Many a robber found his weapon sticking at his belt and by the time they got it free, Arkavus was long gone. Arkavus's long white hair and his attitude to prevent a fight, has earned him the nickname of Light Shell, a play of words on his last name Lyehell.

Going for Spell Focus (Abjuration) and the spell Peacebond (if allowed) as a signature spell of his.

One group would be my preference. Although I have to wonder just how such a disparate group would get together.

LG Gnome Cavalier needs a background

background:

Zinnathyra Littleknight served the lord of a kingdom for many years as a loyal and powerful cavalier. Her lord asked her to escort his family across the kingdom. The caravan was attacked. During the attack the family was caught in an overturned and burning wagon. With most of the protective force dead, and the last of the bandits slain by Zinna, she tried to gain access to the family. As a Gnome, Zinna was too small and weak to free them. She saw some pesh on the corpse of a bandit. Knowing this drug was rumored to boost one's strength she took a handful ... way more than one would use "normally". She tried again, and again to get to them, she took more Pesh ... and still she failed. Strung out beyond control, quivering in a shambles against the bodies of her fallen comrades she screamed along with the family as they burned.

Wounded, and now an addict she reported back to her Lord. The last she heard from him as she walked away was screaming as well. At least she did not cause his death. Disgraced, Zinna now a Ronin, has been traveling alone. She has trained a wolf mount, and mostly broken the addiction, though, tucked away in her bags, a package of the sweet and wonderful pesh calls to her ... offering to set her mind at ease, to lessen the guilt, to give her the strength she lacks ... it calls to her constantly and she just can't get herself to get rid of it. Just having the pesh on hand gives her comfort.

Updating Therzak with +2 racial bonus, and extra 4 points.

Spoiler:

Name: Therzak
Race: Half-orc
Class: Ninja
Alignment: NE
STR: 15
DEX: 16 (+2 points [raised from 13 to 14], +2 racial bonus)
CON: 15
INT: 14
WIS: 13
CHA: 12 (+2 points [raised from 10 to 12])

Backstory: Therzak is the child of an orc woman (a well-respected armorsmith) and a human barbarian who always longed to emulate the savage fury of the orcs, who won a place in a small stronghold by proving his worth in combat (in which he knocked the chieftain unconscious single-handedly). Always proud of the fact that he wasn’t slain outright for his gall, he took an orcish wife, who fell pregnant shortly after. The fact that she had two children already didn’t matter, as in the strongholds, couplings are usually torn apart by bloody, violent death. Sure enough, when Therzak was three, the stronghold was attacked by a rival tribe, leaving much of her tribe dead, including her father. It was no great loss - she'd never felt much attachment to the human anyway. She soon learned that brute strength was not the way to overcome her enemies, and took to learning the arts of stealth. Her mother took a new partner, and had two more (full-blooded orc) children, but Therzak paid them little attention, instead spending her time with the tribe’s wise woman, who taught her that fate is already sealed, and that all one can do is accept it. Therzak bears this grim mentality to this day. Finding the savage life of the tribe distasteful, Therzak slipped away one night, her mastery of stealth leaving her untraceable by her dim-witted kin. She has travelled alone ever since, seeking the fate she knows the gods have for her.

Also, I have no real preference either way regarding group division. Whatever the GM thinks is best works for me. =)

Ok I will be selecting 6 Players tomorrow. the campaign will not be starting until friday because I will be away tuesday-thursday. If you want to be considered please have your character up by 12:00 PM EST Tuesday Aug 13th. It sounds like there will be one group, unless anyone has strong objections against it.

Caladral was born in the a heavily forested region of Cheliax to a poverty-stricken slave family. Both of his parents still live, and he has two siblings. His sister is older than he is, and his brother is younger. During his childhood, he met a unicorn. The unicorn touched him, and since that day, he has always felt different.

During his adolescence, Caladral somehow managed to get himself into a gang war. This is probably what got him into becoming a rogue. This experience also made him into a dirty fighter, and he exploits his opponents weaknesses in combat. One of his influential associates at the time was a ghost that he spent much of his time speaking to, giving him invaluable insight on his own life. The ghost touched him, tainting Caladral a little bit with undead blodd, and making him even more resistant to mind affecting and compulsion effects. He had a friend, who as yet was an innocent who had never committed a crime. When his gang leader offered him money to corrupt his innocent friend, he took it, but his whole life he has secretly regretted it.

Caladral was in a few romantic relationships as he got older, and some of them were significant. But unfortunately, none of them budded into much. However, There was one girl that he grew especially attached to, and to this day she remains ever close to her heart; some may even call her his weakness.

I have a question for all the potential players. Would you like to have a good group and an evil group for some PvP action, or one group of all alignment for some fun role playing between alignments fighting on the same side?

I think one party with a variety of alignments has a lot of interesting rp potential. It will take a little more work on the dms part, but less than running two separate games.

Ya know, we run in to people with conflicting "alignments" everyday. If every instance resulted in bloodshed we would have never got beyond the loincloth age.

If I didn't work beside folks that qualified as "evil" according to the rulebook I probably would feel differently, but I think those evil attitudes are pretty common place and exist within every environment. Not everyone is a hero and most don't want to be, given the opportunity.

That's my .02/mini-rant/social commentary.

It was a hard choice but here are the six selected players.
Those who were selected please report to the discussion thread. The game will not start

Reaction to not being picked: 1d6 ⇒ 2

No! You can't do this to me! The only thing that could have brought joy into my worthless life full of pain and suffering cruelly denied from me... *Sob* Now the only thing I can do is to slowly wither away until the sweet caress of death frees me from my misery.

Spoiler:

Seems like a deliciously dysfunctional party. :D Have fun!

Drat.
Sigh, back to hunting something fun to do.

It was fun just randomly creating characters! Have fun folks!

Zinnathyra, being rejected on this, her last hope of redemption, reaches into the saddlebag on her wolf and one true friend. Digging around she finds what has been calling to her. Having lost her will she pulls out a small leather bag. Untying its leather strap, she slowly opens it and gazes down at the pesh ...

Congratulations to everyone who got in! That looks like one hell of a party. Have fun, everyone! (And even if I didn't get selected, it was fun letting the dice build a character for me!)

Reaction to Not Being Picked: 1d6 ⇒ 4= Indifference

Screw that. After all the work I put into this character, not to mention being the first to do the full-on character randomization, I'm kind of livid right now. I would like an explanation as to why Drofnow wasn't picked.

We have lost one player so the first person who already has a character submitted to respond here can have his spot.

I'll fill that spot with my neutral gnome fighter! I can flesh it out to a full sheet in the am, if that's okay

Great, come join gameplay when you are ready. we are still waiting on some people anyway.

Fantastic! Will do.
