Hi all, I'm back. I don't think I'm anywhere near the action, but will note that she did detect as evil which means she's likely a cultist type or very, very bad human or something worse...
She's admitted to working with body thieves so at least she should be jailed for the night (perhaps her potion duration will expire...)
and we can get a warrant to go get Grine.
Business travel tomorrow - will need 24-48 hours so use this time to RP among yourselves on your next course of action.

I am so happy with you guys I could nearly burst - some great interpersonal RP along with remembering you have the rope of climbing.
I am hips deep in some work stuff but I have Sat/Sun off and can get roll20 and maps set up for you then.
Its hard for me to describe without a picture but try to imagine a 2 story tall cube that goes straight up. Thats the bulding.
Now remove a smaller square open area from the overall building in one corner. Thats the wall, gate and courtyard.
The only way that is available by conventional means to get in is over the wall or through the gate and this leads into the open area which then leads into the building.
BUT
With a rope of climbing? I'd let you access a second story window OR even the roof which appears to have some towers on top that MAY possibly give access via the roof.
Pictures I can post later in a day or two but I am hoping this is enough for you to go on with for now. Its dark enough for you (with care) to climb without attracting attention and the ambient moon light is enough to see by for now.

Nah - just flat atm. I think I could have done a better job of making this battle more dynamic but I am proud of you guys for handling the Chymic works the way you have done. Good creative thinking getting into the place.

Simeon, why do you have disrupt undead taking up two slots? you have unlimited casting of cantrips and should pick four different ones that you can use each day, no?
The DCs are pretty hard here so I've E6'ed them.
All that remains is the box under Grines bed with a gold key, possibly immersed in acid - it definitely smells acidic.

i'm not particularly interested in a 'Frostfur Captives' derail with the mongrelmen. I was hoping the GM would give us something more definite to do with them. if all they want is to be left in the factory then I'm happy to move on.
We can hand wave it - I'm not worried about you being saddled with them like the goblins you reference :) Using the church to take them in is fine.
They are in the module but were taken a step further to be more a RP thing for me illustrating fear generated by the very xenophobic natives of Ustalav

That was a fun encounter - let's see how it pans out ... Oh and step level up again after this battle.
These 'subjects' have undergone some tweaking and are not 100% as found in the books. I took away some of their other immunities but gave them chanelling immunity to balance and make it more thematic.
Wonders of science... or abominations.
And again you are left to wonder: What will happen to them now? Can they even be saved?
I am grateful for Naluns magic because it really freed up the opportunity for this RP, I just wasn't sure if I could get it out with all the combat.
