Not sure what checks would be required to land this thing safely, but doing so would consume Eladrians attentions until complete.

As the Vault settles securely and safely to the ground, he turns back to the conversation with the bounty hunters.
"Lichdom?? I knew that the other creature up top had a valid argument. What can we do to help you??"

It would be Use Magic Device, which actually would necessitate a roll come to think of it.

The Inevitable stares over at Etu

You can instruct that one to let me out so I can finally complete my mission.

"You won't find any Liches out there, but I will happily let you out of this place, so long as my companions are done asking questions?"

Etu will start the process of letting them out, but will take her time doing so to give her comrades time to ask more questions. Unless it's not pertinent in which case let them go.

Realizing that at this point, they have succeeded, Kramac keeps his mouth shut until the inevitables leave. Once they are gone, he bursts out in raucous laughter, and gives Montogmery a hearty slap on the back.

Hahahahaha! This is the best kind of mission! All my companions are so brilliant I barely have to do anything! Come friends, let us catalog this level then depart for home! First round is on me once we get home!

Kramac will then pull out his journal and charcoal and begin taking down notes of interesting things to have Montgomery take a closer look at.

I'm going to just generally start exploring the level. Let me know if there are any relevant checks to make

The Inevitables leave after dropping the bomb that the Amethyst Sage is both a) probably still around and b) a freaking Lich.

Looking around the room, as Eladrian works to land the vault, he finds a Library packed full of interesting works, but finds some more immediately useful works in the form of spell books.

He also finds some pretty valuable art in the bathroom of erotic and tortured poses, which Montgomery thinks probably go back to the Pharaoh of Long Shadows, a priceless piece Amenopheus should be very interested in.

Finally after some doing, the Vault and Beacon come into alignment and a translucent Globe projects and on it you see several points.

One purple, one green, one yellow, one blue, one black and one white. There are also two others, more dull and less colorful.

They seem to have a bit of a reaction as Etu approaches.

As the Larger Inevitable reveals the truth of the Amethyst Sage, Montgomery's expression grows dark and grim, but after a few moments a sense of resolve and certainty takes its place.

After the Inevitables leave, Montgomery looks to the others, "If Badru survives their exit I suspect he will not be so friendly towards us. We should be wary as we exit this archive. I want to approach Saruna when we go to leave. To try to convince her to come with us. There may be a way to reverse her condition without her having to be dead."

After that Montgomery continues with the group searching and cataloging what remains to be cataloged, though he seems to have a new sense of purpose as he does so.

When the Globe appears Montgomery looks at the colors of the points and starts mentally calculating and as it reacts to Etu's approach he seems to have an idea, "Well either this thing is keyed to Tengu, or, more likely I suspect, there is some connection to the Sage Jewels. Etu see if you can control this thing using yours."

GM Eyes only:

In case you had not noticed, Montgomery completed Salvation of the Sages just previously. In fact he died at Tahonikepsu's mind controlled hands during it, though he was resurrected through other players' resources. Consequently he has met all of the current sages and knows those colors match with the currently active sage jewels.

"I'll see what I can do, Montgomery, and I would also like to talk to Saruna and Badru more after all of this is over. I wonder if Badru knew what his master had become; I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't."

Etu approaches the globe and attempts to gather any information she can from it, such as how to activate it.

As Badru brings the Sage Jewel into contact with the globe the different gems on the globe light up as the jewel hovers over them.

On the White gem, you see a purple Dragon soaring through the sky, searching the ground below. She moves so fast it is almost difficult to keep up with her even on this globe.

The Green gem glows in Western Andoran, covered in cloth and shrouded in smoke....or is it steam? blocking your view.

Blue catches a glimpse of Amenopheus in a rare moment of down time in the Sanctum of the sages, hat on the table. You see the private look of the man. He carries a heavy amount of anxiety that he is able to show in private. He smirks at the gem and covers it.

Yellow is somewhere in the northern lands, perhaps in the Holds of Belkzen or perhaps... southern Varisia. It reflects on a group of half orcs planning some sort of war council.

The black is cracked and misformed.

but finally, you come to the purple. You find the gem is set into a strange device staring at a strange figure with indiscernable features. He scowls at you and the vision collapses.

---

Upon exiting the facility, you find Badru and Saruna are gone, the seal keeping them here lifted it seems.

You are able to exit the facility where you find that Tahonikepsu returns after several hours. She seems troubled by your report. She wonders if perhaps other sages may have survived or passed off their knowledge to proteges like the Amethyst Sage seems to have done.

She does thank you for your good work and commends Etu and Montgomery on their ingenuity in rigging up a flawed jewel. She wonders if she may be able to use this process you pioneered to one day create new Sage Jewels.

Good Work Team, Chronicles will be forthcoming. Does anyone remember if this was an OutPost game?

For the record, Montgomery is donating 700GP to the library at the Lodge in Sothis when we get back there.

Etu steps in and helps Eladrian ge the Vault settled into a landing that gently bumps the Pathfinders. Looking about, he is entranced by the library and especially the magic globe.

As the team eventually filters out of the vault and back into the blistering desert air, he looks to his companions with a grin.
"It has been a pleasure, my friends. I hope to travel with you again in the future!!"

Thank you to all for a very good run. I wish I could have enjoyed more of it with you!!
