Did Wyrd finish with the canals?

As the thrumming fills the air, Ripper's body shimmers and she transforms into a black werewolf. She howls briefly before going back to watching for the IE.

"This should be.. interesting." She growls.

Taking a few boulders with him, Michael raises himself into the air on a bronze disk made of force. Once a few hundred feet up, he breaks the boulders and turns them into spikes.

"Keep us all safe, Tapio..."

Did Wyrd finish with the canals?

Yep, said so in my first post. The thrumming occurs about a half hour after Wyrd finishes the canals.

Taking a few boulders with him, Michael raises himself into the air on a bronze disk made of force. Once a few hundred feet up, he breaks the boulders and turns them into spikes.

Sadie looks oddly at him as he hovers on the disk.

'I have got to remember to ask him later how he does that,' she thought as she made a low wall of force that Zren and Rikken could use as cover while throwing rocks at the engine.

Somehow missed that entirely. All I noticed in that post is that your internets were sorking again! lol.

Standing near Enre, Wyrd looks down at him and, with a slight shrug, reaches over his shoulder and draws a massive greatsword from his back. Wyrd holds it out to Enre, its thirteen-foot, adamantine blade glinting in the sunlight.

Is this one sufficient?

Enre was waiting for the sound of the thing they had to fight before pulling up his helmet and dropping two things into his mouth. He than starts to chew the things before saying "I am going to need a bigger sword."

If anyone want to Percpetion what he chewed.

Jiminy's eyes took on a draconic appearance and a strange rift appears in the air next to Enre. A very large sword drops out of it and clangs to the ground.

With a wave of his hand, the piles of paper Oniero had managed to make(horrible quality to be honest, but he barely knew how to make it when he had proper equipment) whirls around him and and disappears into his sleeves.

"I hope and can at least distract it a bit."

So, question, is this thing immune to all magic, or is it like a golem and immune to magic that cares about SR?

No, the blade is actually its normal size. Transmutation is what covers speed and keen.

Turns to look at Jimmy his eyes turning demonic "Did not need it till now." He than slams his hands into the ground before everyone near him stands to hear bones popping. Anyone looking at Enre notices that he is getting larger and his armor seems to be fusing to his skin. After a few more seconds odd wings appear from his back, wrapping themselves around him. After about a minute the wings move away and something else is standing where Enre was.

The armor Enre had on seems to become armored skin of the thing, his horned helm turned into the skull of the thing, now however it was covered in skin and the horns were larger. The face appeared to be some bestial reptile, with large fangs. It shook its head for a bit before moving to pick up the sword.

Augh! Too many cross posts....well, I'm just gonna leave it as is. It's not that big a deal.

Maybe my magic can't affect it, but I can help my allies.

Ehos screws up his courage. His voice was probably going to be a bit rusty from misuse, but he begins with a traditional elvish battle song.

Casting Inspiration Boost, using his Badge of Valor, along with the feat Song of the Heart, giving Inspire Courage a +6 bonus to all attack and damage rolls, and saves against fear. In addition, thanks to his Discordant Voice feat, everyone deals 1d6 sonic damage with their attack (dunno if this will work against the IE).

Is Kitty with the group? Otherwise Vai will ask either Fei or Sadie if they would like to ride on her back during the fight. (She doesn't want to snub Kitty, and I doubt Fei would be... able to ride Vai properly. Given his condition. Ahem. Ce n'est pas un double entendre!

I could say soooooooooooooooooo many things about proper 'tack & harness' right now...but since it's Epic Fight Time again, it'll just have to wait for later. (^-^)

No, Kitty is one of the squishable non-coms in this situation. Her ninja skills would be no real help and her druid abilities are still pretty small. I was gonna say that Sadie would be happy to ride Vai, but now we're back to the double entendres....;P

...But in all seriousness, Kitty or Sadie would be the safer choices, as Vai accurately pointed out.

I don't think Fei would ever permit himself to essentially use Vai as a mount; it would just be too disrespectful of her (in his mind). She is a glorious, luminous being - not a steed.

Before all the other preperations had finished, Vai was trying to find a replacement for Kitty, who's abilities wouldn't be as useful against the infernal engine. Fei had declined, unsurprisingly. So Vai was now approaching Sadie with the plan. "Um... hey Sadie. I wanted to know if you... um, wanted to ride on my back during the fight. I've been practicing having a rider, and I even have (at the risk of giving Zeppler more ammo) a harness you can clip into so you won't fall during maneuvers. Might be easy to get near it from the air."

Also, I'd like to note that the mount/rider dynamic is alot different when the mount can communicate. Those familiar with Dragonlance might remember the Huma/Gwyneth pairing. I know Fei's got his own overdevelopped sense of respect, jus' sayin'.

Will any of the champions' abilities be suppressed by the machine?

"What in the hells is that noise..?" Cassius exclaims as he comes out of one of the buildings...to a large group of people. He looks around at everyone, trying to minimize the awkwardness. "Umm. Anyone see Skiv around?"

Ryuzo moves to Nala's side, hoping to reassure and bolster her with his calm presence and warm smile. "You got this...you outsmarted your mother, you can handle this thing..."

Ponders the effects of the engine. "The binds holding and animating any undead I may summon may be unraveled by this thing. Should we just fly our...heavy hitters...up to the machine and drop them off on it?"

Not being the most aware of things going on around him, his ears perk up at the mention of possible combat.
"There gonna be a fight I take it?" Looks over at the thing that is Enre. "You're a biggun."

"Well, what's the battle strategy then...?" he asks the group of thoe in charge.

Sadie hesitated for a second then nodded. "Yeah, I doubt I can get close enough to do any damage on foot."

Class abilities, yes. Champion abilities, maybe. Direct spell ability, probably. But champion effects are supernatural rather than magical in nature so some should effect it.

Sweat is starting to drip down Nala's face as she focuses all of her energies on suppressing the unluck aura. She smiled weakly. "Hopefully it won't squish me before I manage to 'handle' it," she said half-joking.

"Probably the best bet. I'm going to stay in human form though. I'm more good to all of you as a healer right now," she said, loading her Caster.

"Don't die," Jiminy said tersely in response to the question.

He shifted into dragon form.

Nods in agreement, then shifts into dragon form.
"I can take one person at a time...but folks like Enre are too big for me to carry and maintain flight. I'm built for speed, not strength." he says with a smirk.

The reek of brimstone choked the air and the clang of metal filled the air. The engine was no more than an enormous shape inside a cloud of steam and smoke. The ground shook as it moved forward.

A many tailed fox darted among those getting ready to fight and they felt calmer and more able to fight.

+6 Hope bonus to attack and damage.

That's -6 from the engine, +6 morale bonus from Ehos, and +6 hope bonus from Keme for a net +6.

Following the lead of her brothers, Vai shifted into dragon form, allowing Sadie a moment to get into position before leaping into the sky.

Don't forget the Haste that Phaez manifested onto us, giving us another +1 AC and +1 attack (among other things).

Ghalen nods.
"Fair enough." Looks at Enre. "Think I could manage to get Enre up there, but his form has wings. He may not need assistance."

"If you're staying in human form, dear, then I'll be your ride up there." He lowers his neck for her to climb aboard.

"Thanks, love," she said, scrambling onto his back and settling into a mostly secure position from which she could easily shoot anyone in need of healing.

I have every confidence that Vai will be able to chip away at the 'overdeveloped sense of respect' Fei has, once she sets her mind to it. ;)

Fei brings himself back to his center, letting the clamor and din around him slip away as he focuses himself. Tapping into his own Champion abilities, he steps forward and brings forth a much stronger aura to bolster his allies...

Bold Rally and Call of Heroes are now active. These should give his fellow combatants the following Courage bonuses:

• +4 to AC
• +4 to all saving throws
• +4 to all attack and weapon damage rolls
• 20 temporary hit points
• immunity to harmful fear and charm effects

The young monk then looks around to speak to Vai before the battle begins, but she is already in the air with her siblings. He nods quietly to himself, then focuses his other energies. His body is limned in silver-white flame as he launches himself skyward - and starts absorbing kinetic energy as he climbs.

Phaezeriel's voice comes to Tyrrin,

Who besides Ephebe, Phaezeriel, and Tyrrin will be healing?

"Well, bless my kilts and garters, all we need now is for it to rain." Khassar says as he takes to the air.

I'll be healing or fighting as needed.

The thing that was Enre looked at the engine as it moved forward, it than flew upward before letting out a massive roar. It than grew a savage grin holding the massive sword at the ready.

Roar was Rage buff, if anyone does not want it just got to pass a DC like 16 or 15 Will Save.

"He'll get there fairly quickly." Michael thinks as he sees Enre take off toward the IE. "The steam is obscuring it from view, but I've still got a visual. If I can just get the angle right..."

Copying an archer and acting like the stone spikes are arrows, Michael adjusts the angle until he thinks he has it right and sends five of the spikes hurtling through the air to(hopefully) come crashing down on the advancing machine.

DC 20 Reflex for half damage from the spikes. +4 to the check because Michael can't get a clear line of sight due to the steam.

Damage:20d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 1, 6, 1, 2, 4, 6, 2, 1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3, 3) = 59

The IE can't fail that save so half damage from the spikes.

There was a sound of screeching metal and suddenly chains shot out of the infernal engine anchoring it to the ground.

"Hurry! It's deploying its cannon. You need to make this a melee fight before it can do that!"

The things that was Enre speaks in a voice that was primal "Very well. To the hunt." It than rushes forward the sword it was given raised in the air unleashing a roar similar to the one it had earlier, as it flew at the engine.

How far was it away?

About a hundred feet or so. Approximately.

Tries to make sure that he's flying close enough to the rest of the fighters that Ephebe will get clean shots off to heal, yet far enough away that he can get away quickly if things go south...

In order to maximize his time in dragon form, Ghalen asks the demonic kid for a ride over to the machine. Cassius shrugs and obliges. "Looks like I'm heading that way anyway..."
