The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"Well....is the voice coming from the book? Or maybe that locket...it looked suspicious. It's clearly good at reading our minds. But lousy judge of character."

"Sorry. As chaperones go, I'm pretty lousy. I'm not much better off than the rest of you. I suspect that Khassar is the most mature person here."

"You and I... we're out of our element out here. No paper to replace what we use, no way to use what we know efficiently... We should just stay in libraries, huh?"

While waiting for whatever Khasser is making for dinner, Oniero struggles against his weariness and takes out the book they came here for. He carefully opens it to the first page and begins ready.

"Deal." She blushed and turned away. Darn it, he looked so cute when he was being that earnest. It made her heart race even more.

"Ah, I just need to go use the restroom. So I'll just be back in a minute," she said hurriedly, jumping up to go take a moment to compose herself.

"You've got our backs just in case, right, Saffire?"

*Meep!*

"Nothing to worry about then." Michael replies as he starts getting the dishes ready to go back tot eh kitchen.

"Ok well I'm gonna go to the library to look and see if anything can be found...maybe run it past Deception itself. I'll leave a clone here in case you need anything, k? Hope I find seomthing..."

Khassar cooks steaks off of the dweomercat he kept earlier, with a haunch kept seperate just for Nexiv. He also makes a pot of strong coffee.

Passing out plates and cups he says "Here you go. Now what's next?"

He sits down and begins crunching a bone for the marrow.

"Well, next Oneiro sees if he can find a clue to where the next book is. And we go back to Avalon. At the very least I have some explaining to do," she said, sounding tired.
"Not to mention, it's a lot easier to teleport from Avalon to wherever it is we're going next."

Ryuzo wanders in the library for a long time looking for a copy of the fey accords. He's gone much farther than there should be room for in the school library and his surroundings are no longer familiar. The walls are lined with shelves for books and scrolls, but the walls are now made of living wood and the shelves literally grow out of the walls. The floor beneath his feet is made of moss. On one of the shelves there are several copies of the accords of varying age, all with slight differences of spelling and phrasing, but all saying the same thing. And then he notices a glass case holding a crumbling birch bark scroll. The ink on the scroll has faded to a pale brown, nigh unreadable, but he can see it if he really tries.

The line in purple does not appear in any of the copies of this scroll. It was apparently considered unimportant (or the queens didn't want the princesses getting ideas). This would be the original that was actually signed by Mab and Titania.

Nala heads off to see Miss Jones and after a hurried consultation during which Miss Jones quizzes her mercilessly about the books she was supposed to be studying, they go to speak with Michael Dacamara.

Nala knocks on the door of Michael's room, looking back briefly at Miss Jones and the clone of Ryuzo. She felt nervous. She hated bringing bad news.

Aananda has fallen asleep over her workbench and has become so oblivious to the noise of Jim working that she doesn't even notice when people start showing up for Ryleh's meeting.

Ehos Denulia wrote:

Ehos was getting bored, and a little cranky. Everyone who was coming in was cranky and uninteresting. He felt like he hadn't done anything since coming to Avalon. Getting drunk and grinding with a girl with piercings wasn't exactly 'doing' things. Ehos fingers his scarf pensively, while watching people file into the cafeteria.

A group of younger girls giggled among themselves as they looked at him before one of them detached herself from the others and approached.

"Hi. Umm...are you new here? Well...the thing is, it's cold outside....so my friend has turned the soccer field into an ice rink temporarily. So we were wondering if you wanted to come and play?"

As Vai enters the lab, she looks around. Mom fell asleep working on something. A smile crosses Vai's face for the first time since the previous night. She walks over and puts a hand on her mom's shoulder. "Wake up mom, it's morning." Vai's eyes are still a little red from crying, but the smile that greets Aananda is genuine.

Ehos stands and bows with a flourish, playing the showman to cover his inability to speak. He quickly scribbles onto his notepad. 'Of course! I was beginning to fall asleep due to boredom. I am Ehos. To whom am I speaking?'

"Great! I'm Morrivan and over there is Tamina and Ginni. Our friend Rodhas is the one who made the ice rink and now we're all trying to find lots of people to come and play cause it's more fun with lots more people," she said with a giggle.

"I... it's nothing. Last night was... weird." her smile fades, "It's 10, and the Champ..." Vai stops short, remembering that she hadn't told her mother yet that she was a Champion. "The Champions are all meeting about Nasima. Me too."

Another quick scribble, barely legible due to the speed of writing. 'Pleased to meet you. What's the game then?'

She yawned again. "A meeting. Yes, I think I vaguely remember Mother saying something about a meeting."

"Broomball!" Ginni exclaimed and giggled.

Morrivan nodded. "Yep, that's right. It's like hockey, but we use brooms instead of sticks, and a soccer ball instead of a puck and nobody wears skates. There's a lot of falling down, but it's loads of fun."

Nala grimaced. "Unfortunately no. My personal life has taken a turn for the worse and I now only have a few hours before...well, the point is, I either have to do the procedeure now or you'll have to wait indefinitely until they can find someone else who can."

"I was told that each book would lead to the next." Oniero holds up the Book of Forlorn Blood for emphasis. "If the previous owner was taking the book into this jungle, then that means the Book of Pulsing Flesh is in this jungle."

"One of the most likely potential solutions to my problems involves me losing the majority of my powers indefinitely if not permenantly. So no, waiting would not be better in this case. It would be days at least, if not weeks, before I could potentially do this. More likely they would have to find someone else and who knows how long that will take. If this procedure to remove the seed from your mind goes as it should I should still have a little time left before my...ummm.....well before things get bad."

Ori tried, and failed, to repress a snicker. "Seriously? That's really what it's called? I'm not sure there's any way at all that doesn't end up as a dirty joke."

Oniero laughs a bit too.

"I... hadn't thought of that until you said something, but yes, that is what it is called. Quite the mind you've got there, Professor."

Thanks to Ori, I can't help but think of the awkward questions that might be asked(especially by Miss Jones) if Kitty chooses now to leave the bathroom... There would be much sputtering on Michael's part at the very least.

She grinned. "Before I got this teaching post, I tended bar. After a few drinks most fellows would have to look up to find the gutter," she said with a wink. "On the bright side, I'm not easily shocked. And I find it easy to relate to adolescents. Polite conversation on the other hand is so much more difficult," she joked.

You just ninja'd a ninja! :P

Kitty feels a little calmer after splashing some water on her face and walks out of the bathroom with a smile on her face which falters greatly when she sees Nala and Miss Jones.
"Is something wrong?"

lol, if you weren't working with the Resistance and if Ryleh wouldn't kill me for it, I would totally send you a job offer!

It's the Ryleh killing me part that's the biggest deterrent though. :/

"You don't say no when a gnome asks you if you want to borrow a copy. I did once and ended up with sand coming out of my ear for a week. Page 384 seemed worse to me. I doubt the creators of the spells suggested intended them to be used for that."

Ryuzo reads the bark scroll, then perks up at the helpful line re-reading it two or three times to make sure it says what it says. He then sends a clone to get a pencil and paper to copy down that section, and hurries to find Nala.

Didn't you have a clone with here that you can swap places with?

Male Human (Mole Zoanthrope) 16 Monk/Ninja

{Clone} Behind Nala, the clone starts acting...excited? It remains there, but begins to fidget, and smile from ear to ear.

Yeah I forgot...I improvised :P

Male Human (Mole Zoanthrope) 16 Monk/Ninja

Ryuzo appears around the corner, and the clone winks out.
"Hey! I found..." He sees Micheal and a teacher and calms down a bit. "Errm, sorry to interrupt. Nala, can I speak with you for a sec?"

Trust me, it's not nearly as funny when your on the recieving end of it. It pulls both feathers and scales. I don't have to imagine what it does to flesh either.
