*facepalm* "Djalos, I was flirting with her because I like her. There was no technique involved," she admitted a little sheepishly, recognizing that she had mostly spent the time tripping over her own tongue. "The only motive was that I want to spend more time getting to know her. As in I have romantic interest in her. I certainly don't wish her harm. And no, it's not more efficient to spend all your free time trying to stop the rampaging because there's always, always more and it's like trying to empty the ocean with a spoon. Sometimes you just have to take time to have a life because that's the only way you get time. And I'm not trying to kill whatever is connected to Adon, because that might kill him too. I just want to make sure that my friend is safe and that this whatever isn't hurting him. Or others. That part matters too. Killing things is not always the first option. It's most often not an option at all. And if you're not sure if information is confidential, then ask, but don't just tell everything to anyone you happen to meet, okay?"

Too bad he didn't overhear her conversation with Silinrul, it would have explained a lot. :)
his hearing is good enough that he has blindsense 40 ft from it, whenever he bothers to emit the high pitch chirps. So he heard, he's pretending not to, because supernatural overhearing is rude
He bows to her and quickly walks off, giving her space.
Asha breathed a sigh of relief as the boy finally went away.
"Okay, let's get some breakfast then...you might want to change back for that. Pretty sure it's easier to carry the tray with hands then it is with wings," she joked to Sil.

"I... see." Djalos pauses. "Apologies. My knowledge of romance is limited to how to exploit it to get an assassination target alone. It appears that I still have much to learn about socialization. If that wasn't already apparent enough." He drops his terrifying smile, returning to his normal completely neutral expression.

"It's okay, Djalos," she said, giving him a pat on the arm. "You'll get there. You just need practice. And uh, don't take it personally, Dara is scared of everyone, but you really scared him with all that talk about assassinating people, so it may take him a while to er, warm up to you."

Djalos startled Sadie so much when he showed up, that she unintentionally put up a forcefield, pushing him back slightly. It took her a moment to get her bearings, but when Helena walked away, Sadie ran after her.
"Helena, wait! Um, the section you're looking for is over that way, two stacks in and one over. Also," she continued talking more quickly so she didn't lose her nerve, "there'sapartytonightintheSIMroomsIhopeI'llseeyouthere." She blushed again. "Umm....see you later...I hope," she added quickly before heading back to where she left Dara and Djalos.
Chasing her around the bend, Helena seems to have been whisked away by the library, as it's wont to do, as she's no longer there. The only thing she hears in response to her invitation is a quiet giggle from among the many shelves.

Djalos Tyon |

"Yes, I suppose." Djalos pauses. "If I am already going to this party, then I might as well tend to my bodily functions. Eat, and... other things." Giving a nod to Sadie - which is a conscious effort for him, as Sadie would know by now - he exits the library, and after a brief detour to the restroom, enters the cafeteria.
He loads up his tray with foods chosen for nutrient and caloric value, nothing else, then sits down and begins to eat mechanically.

Tybalt Baneko |

"just coffee cake or is there a variety of things?" David is imagining challenging people to eating contests now. The thought amuses him.
"Oh, they have lots of stuff. Just an example."
An eating contest would certainly be interesting between these two and certainly many of the other more peculiar students at Avalon. They step into the cafe and up to podium which seems to be sans host, that is until they step up and a blue hologram fizzles to life as a pleasant looking hostess.
"Welcome to Pie in the Sky, Zero Gravity Cafe. Room for two?"
Tybalt gives an affirmative and they get directed down a hallway of doors, some with a red X and others a green O on the number for being occupied or not. The cafe seems to have private rooms like a Japanese Karaoke bar as opposed to open booths or tables.
The holo hostess directs to a green one that opens on its own as she gestures inside.
"Please see the central tower for a menu and to place orders. We hope you enjoy your dining experience."
And with that, she disappears, leaving the two to step into the room. As they do so, the door slowly closes behind them and a very subtle hum echos as they start to drift up from the floor.
The whole room is pleasantly decorated in the same soft color of the current sunrise, subtle shifting more and more towards blue as the sun rises. The entire back wall opposite the door is an enormous window to the endless crags and spires of diamond the world is made of. In the center of the room, a column with a few screens displaying the logo of the restaurant reaches from floor to ceiling.
Tybalt looks the place over before looking to Dave to see his reaction to lifting up into the air, entirely weightless as opposed to continuous inertia of flying or levitation magic.
"The column thing has touch screens that we order from. Almost everything here is automated."

Having completely lost her way on her way down from the roof, Lyzzie had somehow ended up downstairs, but outside the school, and still no closer to pancakes, which was a tragedy. Andromeda grinned. "You're welcome. Although I'm not sure how much credit I really deserve since I had no idea this place would be so similar to your home. So, yay for coincidences," she said with a laugh. "Here, this place over here," she said pointing to one of the shops along the wall. "It says they buy antiques. Let's see if we can sell your statue over here."
The shop she pointed out was surprisingly understated in the middle of other shops all trying to attract more attention. There was no one outside yelling for customers. There was only a small sign in the window saying that they buy antiques, and no shop sign at all. And the door was covered by curtains. All of which made it stand out more, paradoxically enough, since it was so different from its neighbors.
Jasper laughs and pats her back once. "Just take the points. Otherwise I'll have to award them to the information illusion, and I don't think it would appreciate it as much."
Jasper nods and brushes the statue off on his shirt, smirking before rubbing it a little.
"If my uncle Robin comes out of this and does his new owner routine, I'm gonna flip."
He holds it sceptically at arm's length after rubbing it, watching for blue smoke before turning to Andromeda and smiling, making her somewhat unsure if he was serious or not.
Either way, he shrinks to a manageable door entering size and pulls the curtain open, sticking his head in.
"Yello. Anyone here?"

Tybalt Baneko |

Tybalt shakes his head and pushes off a wall softly, landing at the pillar.
"Nah, these places never would've opened if they hadn't figured that out. You'll see what it's like."
Tybalt smiles a bit wryly, knowing Dave doesn't like waiting for surprises, but even with how much of a bad idea 'coffee in zero gravity' sounds, the one it could critically injury doesn't seem bothered.
Tybalt pulls up the menu and waves Dave over, scrolling through the menu and highlighting some items with order numbers in inhuman quantities. Most of what he seems to be going for a pastries or cakes of some kind of other, but the place has a full breakfast menu.
"Here, get as much of whatever you like. My treat."
He smiles to his friend and sets the menu back to the main one for Dave to find things he'd like.

"Nice to meet you, Maya Rego. I don't know what a pharaoh is or a monolith either for that matter, but that's okay. I have a dictionary in my room. I can totally look those up later. The cafeteria is where they serve food at mealtimes. Well, they also keep snacks out in between mealtimes because this place is filled with a lot of growing kids, you know, and sometimes it's just soooo long between meals. Anyways, they have a pancake bar on the weekend with pancakes and tons of different toppings. Pancakes are sweet, flat, fried cakes. They're the best! Especially with strawberries and whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. They're also good with maple syrup and bananas and walnuts and whipped cream. I'll probably get some of both. No such thing as too many pancakes," she said, going on and on about her favorite food. "You should come and try some if you've never had them before!"

Lol. I had to stop for a minute there because I was laughing so hard. Nice reference. :D
A woman so old she looked like a mummy (or maybe she was a mummy, it was hard to tell) was seated on a stool behind a counter. The inside of the shop was full of tables and shelves nearly overflowing with various items, stacked so close together that they ended up looking like junk because of how badly they were displayed. The route between the door and the counter was a veritable obstacle course to get through without knocking anything over.
"Buying or selling?" the woman asked in a bored tone, not stopping to look up from the newspaper she was reading.

Sadie Jhiwoon |

Sadie shook her head and then headed further into the library. She stopped in the right sections to help Dara pick out some books to entertain himself while they were researching, and then got him settled on a bean bag chair underneath the table where Djalos had laid out all the scrolls and books. Dara curled up with his pile of books, and aside from an occasional clink when he almost lost a spoon from his makeshift armor, was perfectly quiet. Sadie got back to work, although thanks to Djalos's organization she no longer knew where she'd left off so it was basically starting over from the beginning.

Andromeda followed him into the shop, her petite size and dancer's training helping her not cause a disaster. She sorted through the piles while he was talking with the shopkeeper.
The old woman examined the statue carefully, taking out a loupe and examining the bottom more closely. "Hmmph. Well, it's got the maker's mark. undamaged too. Sad lack of patina, but it does appear to be the real thing. Must have been a well sealed tomb you stole this out of, kid. I can offer you 5,000 credits for it. And that is my best price, so don't waste time haggling."
Andromeda was busy pulling something from the bottom of a pile of rusty things. It looked like an altimeter, but she needed a better look to see if it was still working.

Jasper Ashti |

"You could say that."
It felt kind of odd making a deal without haggling, having grown up in a place where it was a tradition, but with his relative newness to both the planet and time, he doesn't quite feel confident enough to press the issue. Plus, he was slightly afraid that the venerable shop keeper might croak if he got into it.
"5000 works." He offers his hand to shake over it.

She turned her attention to Andromeda. "You buying anything or are you just disturbing my merchandise for no good reason?"
Andromeda shook her head. "No, this one isn't even good for parts. It's hollow."
The old woman harrumphed. "Damn grease monkeys. Of course it doesn't work! This is an antiques store, not a parts depot! Get out of here, you!"

Sorchan del Sol |

"You can't let them live! Not after all the lives they stole!" the large baker, Magmus, yelled for what must be the dozenth time. Somehow Magmus had been appointed as the representative for the common people, and Sorchan had no quarrel with that. The man was for the most part a calm and rational individual. Who was naturally horrified to learn the extent of the crimes of Aine and Aithne del Sol. He could understand that too. He'd been sickened reading off the charges.
"And here I thought you lot took the moral high ground because you were against executing our own kind," sneered Lord Soleil
Any second now this mess was going to erupt into a fistfight. Or worse. And there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it.

She started to eat her breakfast, wondering when sushi for breakfast had stopped seeming odd, and pretty sure the answer was when her medical job had made normal hours something she only vaguely remembered. She looked up when Serrin waved and frowned a little bit. "Do you know that kid? I don't think I remember her as being one of my patients, but there's been so many..." her voice trailed off as recognition of the aura at least kicked in. "Ryuzo, did I miss some bad news while I was in work mode?" she asked, her voice a bit strained.
"No, well, I don't know if she was or not. I think most of the bad stuff came through the infirmary. I heard one of the DelSol girls was kidnapped by her parents and the Sunwakes rescued her. Fei came back from somewhere with a bunch of refugees that had been experimented on. One of my clones was mildly interested in some demon scavenger hunt event involving an invalid girl, but I'm not sure how that ended. Then there was the event with Jessa. And Phaez and Ginni. I'm not aware of anything else."

I don't think I remember her as being one of my patients, but there's been so many..." her voice trailed off as recognition of the aura at least kicked in. "Ryuzo, did I miss some bad news while I was in work mode?" she asked, her voice a bit strained.
Nala gives him a look. "Ryuzo, look at that girl over there. Really look. At her aura. The only way she can have that aura is if Asch is dead."

"What are your wings like?"
she starts munching on fruits, sampling but by bit.
"The only thing I saw that you have up there that we do too is dragonfruit. There all taste rather strongly. It's nice."
"They're big and white and feathery. Pretty standard angel wings I guess. My dad was some kind of angel. My mom always made me hide my wings though because we had problems with these weird cultist guys who wanted to sacrifice me because I was part angel. They were bad people. I don't think that they can get in here or if they did they wouldn't really be able to do anything because of the wards, but my mom made me promise to keep them hidden so nothing bad would happen. But something bad did happen yesterday. Some icky gnome guy used telepathy to lure me off the grounds and stabbed me, which was pretty awful, cause he tried to make me think it was someone I knew from my classes who was doing it which was awful and mean, but I guess only awful and mean people do things like that, just stabbing random people for fun, but I was rescued by another group of students so I'm all okay now. Still, I got into enough trouble and that was without showing my wings. Maybe Mom was right. Or maybe she was overreacting. It's so hard to know. Anyhow, that was yesterday and today is a new day, with pancakes, and it's impossible for a day that starts with pancakes to be totally awful, so I'm just going to assume that it can only get better from here," she finished with a cheerful smile.

He furrows his brow and looks again.

"Deception has left me out of a loop...again."
"...which wouldn't happen if you checked in once and a while..."
A lilting female voice says, seemingly out of one of Ryuzo's clones.
"I bet your Nala checks in more often with Luck..."
A low rumble issues from Ryuzo's throat...
"Now, now. Do not be petulant. Several champions have fallen, not just Darkness. You can expect a new host of fresh faces in the near future, I'm sure."
"Which ones?!" he asks, and gets no reply...his clone shakes his head, and shrugs.
He sighs.
"Maybe you'll have better luck?" he says not intending the pun.

"Well, I was kinda busy bleeding to death at the time, so it wasn't like I had any say, you know. But it was okay because a group of other students had been tracking the guy down. He'd attacked several girls before me. By the time I was conscious again he was dead. Which is just as well. I don't think I could kill someone. And not just because my conscience wouldn't let me, cause I'm pretty sure that's a big no-no, but honestly I'm pretty useless in a fight. Or not in a fight. They tell me that it's okay. I'm only thirteen, so there's still plenty of time to find out what my talents might possibly be. So far it seems to be limited to talking a lot and eating pancakes," she said with a little laugh.

Phaedra's facial expressions clearly displayed her internal conflict as she tried to accept this way of thinking, but wasn't really quite getting there yet. But she didn't argue with her cousin. Which was a step in the right direction.
"Do you have any plans for today?" Phaedra asked, changing the subject. "I was trying to figure out what to do. I don't want to just sit around. It's a nice day. Maybe we can play outside?" she asked hopefully. A week of mostly being cooped up inside was definitely wearing on her.
Cindra smiles at the younger girl, real affection showing, "Sure, we can play outside. As long as we stay on school grounds."

Keme smiled when he read all the way through the note. "Wow, I just doubled the number of friends I have," he said, joking a little bit. "Well, I'd say that makes this a pretty good day. I'm glad you're here too, Alys. It's easier here in some ways. Not being the only one around who can be considered a 'freak'. Surrounded by so many others who are all different too...it helps things seem a little more normal. And if you're going to find anyone who can help you communicate better with others, then this is the place. I'll help too in whatever ways I can. And you're right about Grandfather. He can be intimidating at first. But he cares about us too. He and I argue a lot because we're both really stubborn. I know, big surprise," he says with a cheeky grin. "It's not like anyone else in our whole family is stubborn at all," he continued sarcastically. "It's not a family trait at all."
Alys grinned sheepishly, turning back to Keme from waving at someone a few tables away and sliding the notepad back to herself two write once more. There is even a person here, a non-kitsune, who can understand me; he does get a splitting headache though. Anyway, it was almost anticlimactic until I met and saw a few of the other students. And luckily for me, I seem to have missed out on the family trait; I am not stubborn at all.
When Keme looks back up at her, she has such a perfectly innocent look on her face, such a proper posture and almost delicate motions, it seems she must sit up practicing that along with her homework...

"Maybe you'll have better luck?" he says not intending the pun.
"Oh, I'm always better, darling," said a honeyed voice from directly behind him. The veiled woman bore a striking resemblance to Nala. She crooked a finger. "Come walk with me," she said to Nala. "I don't feel like dealing with interruptions just now and we have so much to talk about. I'll return you to your beau shortly, I promise," she said, blowing a kiss to the one of Ryuzo's clones that Deception was most recently speaking through."I do love games, but they lose some of the fun when no one explains the rules," she said, in a conspiratorial tone as she took Nala's arm and led her a short distance away.
From Ryuzo's point of view, Nala is still in view, but there is a sort of shimmery curtain and the veiled woman disappears once they pass through it and Nala appears to be talking to herself.
Nala recognizes when the privacy curtain goes up, so to speak, and waits for her Patron to begin talking.
Fortunata started playing with some dice, tossing them from hand to hand. "You want to know who has been lost, but that's not the right question. But I'll answer it anyways because it leads to the right question. Darkness, Love, Creation, Wrath, Justice. All of them cut down for the same mistake."
"And what mistake was that?" Nala asked.
"Ah, now you're getting closer to the right question. They left this place. We did tell you all to stay here, you know. They ventured out, not just for an afternoon, but consistently and often and far."
"Why does staying too far away from Agartha result in the death of Champions?" Nala asked. She knew this game.
"And there it is. The right question. Time is fractured right now you see. Part of her is here, along with her Champion. And part of him is out there, having one hell of a tantrum via the nastiest Champion he could find. Too much time out there and you catch his attention, which I assure you isn't good for your health. Feel free to pass that on. They get so grumpy when they have to find replacements."
"Have they all found replacements?"
"Oh, not yet. Darkness has, obviously. And Wrath. And Justice, too. Creation is dithering because he can't make up his mind which one he wants to choose. And Love is basically curled up in a corner weeping, poor dear. She really takes these things hard."
"And this is what you meant about rules?"
"Oh, yes, darling, exactly what I meant. It's so boring when Champions get killed because they broke rules they didn't even know about. I mean, at least when they know what they're doing the odds are a little more interesting."
"Then I'll be sure to pass the information along, as you ask," she said with a respectful nod. This was the only way to deal with Fortunata's moods.
"Oh, and darling, before you go, I do approve of your plan. No promises on outcomes, you understand. That's not how I work, but as they say, fortune favors the bold."
"Thank....you," she said, realizing that she was completely alone before she finished the phrase.
She walked back to Ryuzo. "Asch, Amada, Enre, Jim Rivets, and that weird Yrrin guy who was almost never here. They got taken out by one of the Champions of Time. Apparently there are two at the moment. Champions of Time. And Time. And spending too much time, heh, away from this planet makes us into giant targets and we shouldn't make a habit of venturing out there. We need to let the others know this as well. Having Champions venture forth willy-nilly to their deaths is wreaking havoc on her betting pool," she said dryly, well aware that Deception was still listening in. "So much for rest days."
