Once inside the cafeteria, she grabbed a tray and piled it high with charred pancakes, hash blacks, blackened bacon, and so on until it was so heavy she could barely lift it to get to a table.

"Yes, getting sent to the infirmary would be rather bad." The shaman says with a straight face. He gets his berry pancakes, a large fruit smoothie, and a side plate of steak and eggs, and follows Asha to the table "Do you need some help with that plate?" He asks politely.

She's holding her book

"AH!!" Serrin yelps as Alys nips her feet, spinning around towards the red fox, 'exposing' her to Keme.

Keme leaped up, grabbed the book, and dashed away across the lawn, with a few wobbles because the book was technically a bit large for him to keep hold of in this form.

"It would be bad because they get super cranky when you show up again right after they've just discharged you. I've almost got the standard lecture memorized now," she said, making a face.

"No, I've got it," she said, starting to wobble, but just barely making it to a table before her food spilled everywhere. Again. This morning.

She sat down and started eating at a rapid pace. "Oh, that's so much better than nutrient drips," she said in between bites.

If there was one thing that Keme understood it was how to avoid getting caught after doing something irritating. He started weaving around, changing places with his illusory doubles over and over until it was impossible to tell which one was which and who was supposed to be chasing who.

Is he personally creating even more illusory doubles, or just swapping places with the two Geno made? Slightly vague.

Serrin Surya wrote:

It's intentionally vague since this was basically in cinematic mode. It's intended as a sort of shell game making it hard to tell which fox is which.

"..., I don't sleep. I just have a spell that lets me stay awake. Instead of sleeping, I go to four to eight hour Devine meetings daily."

Lyzzie looked appalled. "That's awful! You poor thing! Ugh, gods obviously make terrible parents! That is no way to treat a kid! How is your brain supposed to process memories properly if you never sleep?! That's just...well, awful!"

"Don't worry about it. With everything that happened last night, it was hard to keep track of what was going on. It would have been easy for you to miss that part of things while you were busy acting as translator with those weird mechanical bugs at the factories. I was pretty useless in that situation, so I was paying more attention to the radio chatter, that's all."

"It was a rather full evening, yes. May today be much less...busy," the young monk intones, almost as if in prayer. "It might be a worthy challenge to try and stay out of any troubles today." :)

Lyn: I am assuming that Fei's invitation to the Equinox Festival is still trying to reach him, since he cannot seem to stay in one place very long these days. If it is easier to just have it just show up now, though, I will do so. Let me know (^-^)

Jeran laughed. "Well, if that works as well for you as it does for me, then we're in trouble already," he joked.

Let's have the invite ding across his messages about now, since I imagine his lace would forward anything sent to his student account.

"Yeah, okay," she said, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. "Pretty sure that the tram station is that way," she said, pointing. "Presuming I've got the right orientation from the map we saw earlier."

As they walked toward the station she pointed to the bag. "It may have been the result of a goof-up, but you have to admit, the unicorn and heart patches are a nice touch. It's probably the most stylish bag of holding I've ever seen," she said, biting her lip to keep from laughing at the sheer absurdity of the situation. "Here, let's see, the board says that it's tram 13 to Goblintown...which one is that?" she said, looking around the platform.

He follows her lead, right next to her.

"Heh, I'll give you that one. It's actually the one you would've chosen having been presented with every bag of holding available. The one you would've brought. Phenomenal Cosmic Powers, and all that that." He wiggles his fingers to demonstrate the mysticism of the whole exchange.
He glances to the directory, not finding much help there before glancing to the lines themselves.
"Ahhh, there, thirteen. Right after the old guy with the blue coat and sunglasses." He points to the near end of the platform.

"Ah, right, alright, let's go," she said, heading for the queue for tram 13. This train was considerably less crowded than the one to the Bazaar had been. It's fairly easy to find seats in the mostly empty car, and the other people riding this way all looked a bit strange. There was some sort of sheep person in a trench coat, glaring at everyone suspiciously. The fellow wearing sunglasses indoors, of course. A twitchy goblin carrying a large brown paper bag and drinking from a fast food paper cup. A crumbly clay golem accompanying a tiny winged fairy. And a small group of rowdy adolescent dwarves wearing clothing with too many spikes on.

The tram pulled out of the station and headed off through a tunnel. It appeared that this was going to be the extent of the view for the remainder of the ride.

One of the dwarves swaggered up to Jasper and Andromeda. "What say youse pretty ladies joins us for a drink," he sneered in a tone that screamed trying to pick a fight.

"Alright, Ardiente, you stay there, we'll get all the stuff out and then Ignace can walk you through how to make cookies," she said, starting to pull out bowls and cookie sheets, while the Ignace and Chara grabbed other bins and boxes out of the cupboards.

Hope that makes sense. I figured the doubles wouldn't make shadows, as they aren't substantial and her feeling a person's shadow sounds like a cool ability to me.

The red fox itself seems to turn to smoke and reappears a few feet away, but the book is left there in her grasp. The fox turns and nods at her, conceding that she won the game.

And is immediately bowled over by the black fox.

Somehow Magmus had been appointed as the representative for the common people, and Sorchan had no quarrel with that. The man was for the most part a calm and rational individual. Who was naturally horrified to learn the extent of the crimes of Aine and Aithne del Sol. He could understand that too. He'd been sickened reading off the charges.

"And here I thought you lot took the moral high ground because you were against executing our own kind," sneered Lord Soleil
Any second now this mess was going to erupt into a fistfight. Or worse. And there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it.

The robed figures of the Elders had been insinuating themselves through the increasingly agitated crowd from the beginning, but people were used to the robed figures being virtually invisible. Elders never interacted with society at large, being so reclusive as to be an entire society to themselves. But they were interacting now. One of the robed figures climbed up onto a large box to make sure that everyone could hear her as she pulled back the hood of her robe and in a voice that penetrated through all the arguments and mutterings.

"Enough!"
Everyone stopped, stunned for a moment. The woman was stunning, with long, blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, and an aura of command that made it nearly impossible to disobey her.
"Since you children have proved that this problem is beyond you, it's time to step aside and let the adults handle things!"

"Who the hell are you?" Lord Soleil demanded with false bravado. But bluster had served him well so far, and he wasn't the sort of person who knew how to change tactics quickly.

The woman looked at him coldly. Who am I?! I am Eleadora, daughter of Avatar Voltair, and I did not spend the last several centuries of my life keeping that abomination in the sky in working order just to have you hatchlings completely destroy our people through sheer determined ignorance!"

Another of the elders throws back his hood, revealing a large, hulking man with a shaved head and an impressive blond mustache. "[b]Now, sister," he says in a booming voice, "you know it was your idea to let the youngsters be in charge of politics."

"That was before I knew how bad at it they were going to be! I would have interfered years ago if those infernal engines hadn't been taking all of my time!"Eleadora retorted.

She sat down and started eating at a rapid pace. "Oh, that's so much better than nutrient drips," she said in between bites.

Silinrul reflexes goes to steady Asha, but is just a tad too slow and her food wipes out. He smiles as she digs in "That's a good, healthy appetite, and yes, much better than nutrient drips, whatever those might be."

While they're in the middle of eating, a ghostly black raven flies in, and lands next to Sil's plate, and starts chattering at him.
