Legainn raises her sword and shouts "Let this place be seen!" Cast Light on blade. She then steps towards the goblins, claymore raised.


Quolamin's acid dart strikes the farthest goblin in the chest. He let's out a squeal, but he fares far better than his companion that drops as Skully buries her rapier into the creatures back.

Fenn:
The goblin lays dead at your feet. And for a moment, you hold your breath, straining to hear and see if there are any other creatures waiting to attack. You quickly realize that you are alone, but you do hear the sound of fighting coming from your camp.

Fenn will take the time to snatch up the Goblin's Bow, Quiver and any melee weapon it had slinging the effects over his shoulder. Then dashes off toward the sudden illumination down the path towards the party...

Double Move 60'ft - or Triple move if Fenn can sprint.

EDIT: After looking at how far Fenn can get and he can see the whole situation, double move is enough.. especially after he picked up all the goblin's effects.

Brom takes advantage of the Goblins oblivious state to kick its legs out from under it. Knocking the little creature flat on it's back.

Seeing the dazed a prone goblin surrounded by his party Fenn smirks and decides to try a different tact...

Striding over Fenn drops the goblin bow and weapons as he walks into the circle of light... striding right over to the goblin he steps on his chest to hold him down and places the point tip of his elven curve blade nest to the pinned goblins exposed neck... and he pauses.

CMB Maneuver - Grapple 'pin': 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 4 = 17 {Target Prone}

Then in a screechy and grating voice Fenn speaks to the Goblin... in his own language...!

Goblin:
"You there - tiny one, your life is mine now! My blade will end you...! You no want to loose head? Then answer my questions fast! Where is your tribe's lair? How many hands of warriors does your tribe have? Is there a bigger Goblin-kin leading your tribe? Does your tribe have any shaman or witch docters?"

When the goblin comes out from under the spell, he begins to struggle but quickly stops when Fenn starts talking his language.

Goblin:
"Lair? What is lair? We have many many warriors. You leave...we won't kill YOU."

Fenn rolls his eyes in annoyance but grins bearing his teeth... a sign of extreme aggression as he replies...

Goblin:
"Lair. is your sleeping cave hole .. where your warriors sleep and your females spawn. You do not frighten us... you are tiny and I can spit Many MANY of your weak warriors on my one blade ... and I have three! Where are your warriors and who is your Chief? I may allow You and them to serve me if they are amusing enough.. or I may just wipe them all out! YOU cannot stop us... but your tribe may be use to us!!!"

Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Intimidate: {Take 10!} - I'm lazy.. this should be enough to cow the goblin 10 + 2 = 12

GM:
This is purely a bluff.. Fenn has no intention of wiping all the goblins out if he can avoid it.. nor does he want them to serve him.. all he would rather do is bully them into leaving the traffic on the road alone. But Goblins only understand strength and weakness and the application of force to enforce one's will. Fenn hates bullies.. but the alternative of killing them all is also Very distasteful to the young half-elves' 'live and let live' attitudes. Fen doesn't have to hurt them.. if he can make them think he will hurt them!


The goblin tries to continue his bluster until it becomes apparent that Fenn is neither buying his bluff or going to run into the forest with fear from the threat of the mighty goblin horde. The goblin goes on to describe the "lair" from which his band works from. Unless you are mistaken, it sounds like the same manor you have been sent to search. It quickly becomes apparent that the goblin can not count and that there is either one or a thousand goblins hold up. He speaks of a leader but explains that he is not so much a chief as a master. He is as big as a human and goes by the name Goot.

Well that is good to know Brom says when Fenn tells them what the goblin said. Now what do we do with the little beast. We can't let it go it will run right back to its tribe and tell them we are here. Do we kill it? Tie it up and leave it, or take it with us?

Fenn replies to Skully, "..You're right sweety it ain't right! We're not killin' anymore than we absolutely need to...!"

Fenn takes out a rope and binds the goblin up. Then lifting him by his feet hangs him head down from the branch up in a nearby tree some 6 or so feet above the ground.

"That'll hold him tight long enough. These Goblin's had no provisions on 'em... so their lair must be nearby. We'll come back and let this one go when we have his human boss - 'Goot' in custody. Likely, the Goblins will go back to just petty mischief and trickery... once they have no outside direction to do worse. Let's go..."

A human leading a group of goblins? That is unlikely it is probably a hobgoblin or an orc. Don't forget why we are out here in the first place. We are out here to collect an item and we don't have the authority to arrest anyone, we aren't constables. Brom says. What happens to the goblin if none of us survive to come back and let it go? I would rather take it with us or end its life quickly than leave it here to possibly starve to death.
I wouldn't want to be left hanging upsidedown lke that for what could be daysBrom thinks to himself.


The goblin struggles and swears in languages you know as well as many you don't.

As for goblins.. they are little critters.. big creatures of any kind can bully them into serving... but it takes a lot of watchin' or cruelty to keep 'em focused on a task other than cruel mischievousness. I ain't denyin' tha' goblin's got on-the-whole black little hearts... but they don't always have to be tha' way and jus' because some else is a mean ole' cuss.. don't make it right for you ta' be like tha' in turn! If we take him with us.. we'll have to watch him an we don't need tha' kinda' distraction when we don't know how many goblins we're gonna have ta fight. He'll do everything to give away our approach.. Here.. he's out o' the way."

Fenn shrugs, "As for tha' law.. I'm not too up on tha'... but it seems least-ways ta meh we've been given free hand as a 'posse' to seek and apprehend those responsible for raiding the road traffic from tha' Constable in New Wesel, Sergeant - Bawen Thona, in the name o' the 'Circle of Nine'."

"Out here, when a lawman ain't around, a man many times has ta make his own law! You see someone doing something ya' know is illegal. you as in a deputy's capacity can enforce tha' law and uphold justice! Jus' be mindful not to be killin' folks! You turn the guilty over with your evidence.. to a lawman you can find and let the law sort out tha' details. Lestways.. tha's how we did it in 'Little Tree'... might different elsewheres.. but I have as yet to see diffrent'."

"Anyhow.. tha' goblin will keep.. let's go fur these goblins are missed an more come lookin' fur em'.."

Turning to Skully, "Yur with me sweety!"

Fenn pauses just long enough to take out a section of wound wrapping cloth to gag the goblin so he can't continue screaming for help... or use his teeth to bite through his bindings.

Then Fenn heads down the path away from their campsite... seeking the source of the path... removing his buckler and hanging it from his belt again to free up a hand.

Brom shakes his head as Fenn and Skully disappear into the night, again.
Well I will at least not leave you hanging upside down. He says to the goblin. Brom takes the goblin down, and then hangs him back in the tree. This time the rigt way up. You will be a little more comfortable that way until we can get back to cut you loose.

Brom makes his way back to the camp and grabs a few more hours of sleep letting the others wait up for Fenn and Skully if they wish.


Legainn sits next to the fire. "The ranger and the halfling are a little too eager to head off into the dark after creatures that call darkness home."

We were camped then Fenn drugged you off into the woods. supposed to be around 3 in the morning

I think it is more the half-elf than the halfling. Skully can't see anybetter than we can. Brom says to Legainn from his bedroll. When Skully arrives back at camp Brom is asleep.

Well it seems the DM does NOT want this followed up on so I'll back off. I would not have bothered investigating it if DM Chronicler would not have brought it to the character's attention.

Fenn follows the path about a mile.. but finding no end to it returns to the camp.. at least confident there are no more goblins in the area.

He returns pretty much a little after Skully arrives, but is too excited and awake to get back to full sleep so he just sits by the fire gazing into its depths in reverie. Everyso often he gets up to walk the perimeter... until dawn begins to rise.

He will prepare breakfast for everyone...

yay! breakfast! Brom wants waffles, and two eggs over easy.


After eating, your group breaks camp and are back on the road. The morning is cool, but clear, and you make quick time. Towards late afternoon, after consulting the map, Brom discovers that you are in the area where the manor is suppose to be.

Q is silently studying a book beside Brom.


The halfling and half-elf make there way silently through the brush. Many times they come across signs of passing...and not by any animal.

Skully scours the ground for anything she can come upon, but when she misses the markings of a road coming off of the main, Fenn smiles and points it out to her. Once she sees it, its winding becomes obvious to her and she can see that is goes off deep into the forest.

As they begin to make there way back to report to the others, they are startled as a bird takes off out of the brush.

Eyes wide he watches as it takes flight and flees... his bow & notched arrow in hand completely forgotten - no thoughts of shooting the wondrous bird even considered...

The Chronicler DM:
Yeah I know... its probably a familiar or an animal companion on guard duty.. meaning our quarry has spell support. But Fenn is a gentle soul.. he would not kill it just in-case it were such or Even if he knew it was.. its too pretty and unique! Fenn is not a destroyer! He HATES killing... especially killing animals for convenience! But it might not even occur to Fenn the potential threat the bird posses as he has had such a limited experience in the world outside his sleepy farmtown. :)
