Shimmer |

As the memories come flooding back Shimmer finds herself rooted in place for a moment processing the events in her mind. The training she had received in the temple had not prepared her for this tragedy. The Wardstone destroyed, Kenabres probably overrun, Terendelev slain. The teachings she had didn't prepare her for this, leaving her to reason out what to do on her own.
Despite her own offer to help she found herself holding back as the others began to move about, those able helping those who couldn't. Eyes settling on the grippli providing healing shimmer brings her hand up to her symbol of Iomedae and channels healing energy to those around her, feeling herself fill with the warmth of the Inheritor's power to send outward.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 2
If needed, here's a second Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Shimmer would probably have weapons, armor and symbol on her. I doubt much else.

Dennis the tainted |

"OK, I think we better get moving. See if you can do anymore good for the people who are hurt, but we have to find food and a way back to the surface. At some point the crusade will have to respond to what happened to Kenabres. "
Are there any ways out of this cave we can see?

JasonX |

Dennis, as you move a little ways from the group, you see this:
The ceiling and far walls of this vast cavern recede into darkness. On one side, the wall has collapsed in an enormous mound of rubble—here and there the arms or legs of victims who didn’t survive the fall protrude. The walls and floor of this cavern have the rough texture of natural stone. The distant squeaks of bats echo broadly, suggesting that this underground space is large and relatively open. Grit and rock dust covers everything. Clumps of stalagmites jut from the ground. In the back of the cavern, a disturbing shape looms. Nearly the size of a horse, what appears to be an immense black spider crouches silent and still on the ground.
Dennis has only moved about 20' from the group when he sees this. Those with darkvision could see further, but until now, had just thought the spider was a boulder as it was so still for so long.

Efin, the Warpriest of Desna |

As she noticed the spider's form, Efin abruptly whirled around and pointed, halfway through naming a target for her magic before she paused. Spiders... weren't normally that still when people with light stopped by, right? Frowning, she carefully crept forward, following Dennis and preparing to unleash some fire should it be necessary.
Ready Action: Cast Flame Jet if an enemy appears - targeting with Selected if there's a single foe, or Cone if there's more than one she could catch in its range (10 feet).

JasonX |

2d20 ⇒ (6, 8) = 14
The spider is a giant black widow, but fortunately for you, the immense vermin is several days dead, as becomes apparent from the smell and condition of the corpse as it’s approached.
As you both creep closer, you note two disturbing elements—a muffled chewing sound and a bulge wriggling inside of the spider’s abdomen.

JasonX |

Ok, here is how I do combats. Initiative is in blocks. So PCs are in groups between the enemies' initiatives. I prefer combat posting formats to be something like this:
Round #
Flavor and RP text.
dice rolls
any more flavor and RP text.
AC- current AC
hp-xx/xx current hp/max hp
status- any conditions, spell effects, etc.
and finally any reactions planned (such as parry & riposte, counter spell, etc).

JasonX |

As Dennis nears the corpse, the abdomen suddenly burst with a sickening squelching sound. And several large white grub-looking creatures lurch forward towards you.
Dennis is 10' from the corpse, Kaval 15', Efin 20', and everyone else 40'.
Iniatives:
Efin-16
Kel-14
2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
Kaval-13
Dennis-13
Shimmer-3
Creatures-0
So, everyone goes before them (there are 4 of them).

Dennis the tainted |

Dennis sees the spider erupt in a burst of maggots.
"Ok, a rotten spider is pretty bad, but that's just gross. "
Dennis will move forward 10' to attack one of the grubs with his rapier (drawing while moving).
to hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
12/12 HP
AC 19

Efin, the Warpriest of Desna |

On second thought, maybe getting close to anything that might be able to hurt her would be a bit of a dumb idea after all. Efin stepped back and pointed at the closest grub-thing that wasn't already engaged in melee. <"Target: Selected Creature. Effect: Flame Jet."> she called in Celestial, sending a bolt of fire through the air and towards the grub as she commanded her magic to act exactly the way she wanted it to.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 for Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 (With a single target using this word, there's no saving throw.)

Kaval Treehopper |

"Well, if the spider is too gross, how about these for lunch?" Kaval moves up to the writhing white grubs and waggles his fingers, causing a burst of flame to leap out at them.
Standard - Cast burning hands
Burning Hands (Reflex DC 15): 1d4 ⇒ 4
"See, they're already partially cooked."
HP: 13/13
Spells (1st): 3/4

Kel the Guardsman |

"Oh that's just gross." Kel said as he rushed forward drawing his blade.
Move next to Dennis while drawing sword. If this is a surprise round that's all I get to do. If this is a full round I'll ready an action to attack the first maggot that gets in range.
AC: 17
HP: 13/13

JasonX |

Shimmer needs to double move to get into melee. If she uses her bow, I'll retcon.
The creatures (know-nature) shuffle forward to attack you (two on Dennis, one on Kel, and one on Kaval).
att vs Dennis: 1d20 ⇒ 4 (let me know if you choose to parry one)
att vs Dennis: 1d20 ⇒ 6
att vs Kel: 1d20 ⇒ 13
att vs Kaval: 1d20 ⇒ 17
As expected, they all miss :)

Shimmer |

Round 1
I'm fine with double moving to melee
Seeing the creatures emerge from the spider's carcass across the cavern, Shimmer draws her blade as she moves across to engage them.
Double move to grubs, drawing longsword as part of action.
Round 2
Having reached the creatures blade in hand, Shimmer silently calls upon Iomedae's strength as she brings it across one of the grubs.
Standard to attack w/ Power Attack. If it dies, use move to engage next, flanking if possible.

Kaval Treehopper |

Do you want to announce the start of each round, or should we just post our actions after the last enemies that act before us? Assuming the latter, here is Round 2 for me.
Round 2
Leaping into the fray, Kaval unleashes a pair of quick kicks to the crispy grubs.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Completing his spin, Kaval turns back to the blinded elf and calls out, "Nothing to worry about, Mr. um.... Elf. It's just a few hungry bugs that we disturbed with our fall. We'll have them taken care of before they get anywhere close to you."
HP: 13/13
Heavenly Fire 5/7
Spells (1st): 3/4

Efin, the Warpriest of Desna |

Efin watched as the others got to work in melee, and with a shrug, she lowered her hand instead of trying to fire into that mess. Instead, she moved over towards the elf, the injured man, and the upset fellow, clearly trying to protect them from anything that came their way.
Ready Action: Cast Selected Flame Jet on any foes that approach the NPCs.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 for Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Kaval Treehopper |

Round 3
"It.... bit me? No, you are food, I do the biting. Now stay still so I can squish you into delicious jelly." Kaval leaps into the air and attempts to crush the audacious grub beneath his webbed feet.
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
HP: 9/13
Heavenly Fire 5/7
Spells (1st): 3/4

Efin, the Warpriest of Desna |

Dennis appeared to be doing literally nothing except attacking - and Efin shrugged slightly as she continued to hold her readied action, since she had basically no confidence at all in her ability to accurately shoot flames into a melee. Besides, the others were busy stomping things too - you couldn't really complain about that, especially when they were kind of protecting you as well.
Continue Readied Action.

Shimmer |

Round 3
Shimmer continues to attack the grubs with her longsword, eyes searching for any weakness in their ranks.
Standard to attack. Move to flank if possible without provoking (not included).
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Kel the Guardsman |

Kel closes and swings again, but loses his footing for a moment on the uneven terrain.
Round 3
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Efin, the Warpriest of Desna |

"We finished things off." Efin told the elf. "Take a few deep breaths and relax, yeah? I know it can be scary when people are fighting and you can't see what's going on, but yelling out just distracts people and makes it harder. We'll make sure to guard you." she glanced over to the injured man a moment later. "Trying to make a splint or something?" she asked, moving over to help.

Kel the Guardsman |

Kel wipes his sword off on his dirty pant leg and makes a face. "Well that was disgusting. Anybody hurt?" then he sees the blind elf and the man with the broken leg again. "Uh, I mean, more hurt than they already were?"

Efin, the Warpriest of Desna |

"I can do healing if someone helps out a bit." Efin offered, moving over. "Come on, no need for doing battlefield medicine to yourself when we've got lots of hands to help." she added to the man with the broken leg.
Taking 10 + 6 = 16 on Heal to create a splint for the guy with the broken leg... assuming there's enough materials here to do that, of course.

Argus 0172 |

You successfully splint his leg, though he is still in pain. Finding him a crutch in the debris is simple as well. Afterwards he seems much better disposed to you.
"Thank you for your help. My name is Argus. I will at least be able to move now."
To Efin he whispers, "The elf is Aravashnial. He will be a pain if you don't at least make the appearance of consulting him on decisions. He is very used to being in charge. I'm sure his current blindness is massively frustrating to him. He will be even more insufferable than usual."

Dennis the tainted |

"Right. Don't listen to the elf. Well you ready to go now? I think we need to get moving. I don't think this is a good spot to wait around. I mean heck, the roof already came down once. "
and he will start looking around for an exit.

Kel the Guardsman |

Kel, in contrast to Dennis, figured a blind person who was used to being in charge was exactly the kind of person he wanted to get in the good graces of. He couldn't see him to judge his tainted heritage, and he might have some clout with the city.
Assuming there still was a city.
Mel went to stand next to the elf. "Sir, my name's Kel. We're sort of getting ourselves organized and looking around the cave we're in. Would you mind if I took your arm to help you move around? The ground is pretty uneven here."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Kaval Treehopper |

Kaval finishes stomping on the offending grub and turns back to the group, "Does anyone know what these things are? They look tasty, but it won't do much good to have a full belly if it turns out they're poisonous..." He dusts himself off while waiting for the go ahead, and a golden flame runs up his arm to the spot where he was bitten.
Heavenly Fire: 1d4 ⇒ 4
When the flames fade away, the wound goes with it.
HP: 13/13
Heavenly Fire: 4/7
Stunning Fist: 1/1
Spells (1st): 3/4

JasonX |

While people are getting organized, Several things become apparent. The nobleman is somewhat unfriendly and complains a lot as well as being insulting to the other two NPCs. He seems to be mad at Avarashnial and distrusts Argus (he uses the word "thief" a lot in reference to him). Avarashnial seems weirdly contrite around the nobleman and only reacts to the nobleman's insults with embarrassed silence. To Argus, he is unusually curt and terse. Argus is annoyed by the nobleman, but seems to respect him. He is more or less neutral about Avarashnial.

Kaval Treehopper |

Kaval approaches the nobleman. "Hey there buddy. No use being grumpy right now, seeing as we're all trapped down here together. Better to work together to get out of this mess, so you never have to see us again, am I right? I'm Kaval, and I was in training to become a squire before the attack, so I'll help keep you safe if you stick with us. Mind telling me your name so I don't have to keep calling you grumpy nobleman?"
