Teena uses her magic to scream into one of the enforcer's ears behind her. Holding his ears he leaves himself open to getting knifed in the kidneys by Shanee's new friends.
Alhari moves into sight, backing away until she can hear again, then casts a spell that fills the hall with smoky haze. The area marked with a black ring acts like a fog cloud.
Barrow Haze (Level 3)
This spell creates a bank of fog similar to that created by fog cloud , except the vapors are black and they have a necromantic link to you. The vapors do not interfere with your vision. Because of your link to the haze, if any part of it is within 30 feet of you, any creatures within the haze count as in range for the purpose of using any of your hexes that have a maximum range of 30 feet.
For example, suppose you have the slumber hex, you are 25 feet from one edge of the haze, and an opponent is 40 feet farther away at the other extreme of the cloud. You can use your slumber hex on that opponent even though it is actually 65 feet away from you.
The Masked Man moves in on Stroud, slashing and stabbing with his hooked dagger in a flurry of steel. His first strike nearly tears Stroud's scimitar from his grip, and the second leaves a freezing cut in his forearm.

Alhari raises her hands and calls upon a powerful spell. Shanee suddenly feels the breath sucked right out of him.
Suffocation (Necromancy, Level 5)
This spell extracts the air from the target's lungs, causing swift suffocation. The target can attempt to resist this spell's effects with a Fortitude save—if he succeeds, he is merely staggered for 1 round as he gasps for breath. If the target fails, he immediately begins to suffocate. On the target's next turn, he falls unconscious and is reduced to 0 hit points. One round later, the target drops to –1 hit points and is dying. One round after that, the target dies. Each round, the target can delay that round's effects from occurring by making a successful Fortitude save, but the spell effect continues for 3 rounds, and each time a target fails his Fortitude save, he moves one step further along the track to suffocation. This spell only affects living creatures that must breathe. It is impossible to defeat the effects of this spell by simply holding one's breath—if the victim fails the initial saving throw, the air in his lungs is extracted.
The Masked Man darts forward, his exotic weapon spinning at Stroud again and again. Stroud's scimitar is sent spinning to the ground in the exchange, but he somehow manages to avoid further injury from the hooked blade.

Teena takes the long way around the friendly thug and ends her movement just north of Shanee. She pulls her Heroism wand as she goes, ready to use it to try and assist him next round against the devious magic.
If I can draw a wand while I move, I can activate it this round. If not, I can draw it and activate it next round to give a +2 to the save.

Since Shanee is probably in serious danger of dying unless he gets lucky on his rolls, I have a couple of ooc questions before I post my actions. Troxell is currently an air elemental, which means he's composed of air. Would it be possible to force part of his air form into Shanee's lungs to give him a reprieve from the spell for a round? I'm willing to sacrifice hit points to stop him from dying.
Otherwise, how does an aid another check work with saves? I see vague references to it in the Core rulebook, but no mechanics.

@Teena: You can't draw a wand as part of a movement action, but you can 5' step, draw, and use the wand in one round, and Shanee is only a 5' step away.
@Troxell: Though it is odd, the aid another mechanics remain the same no matter what the situation is. You use the same check (skill, save, or attack roll). So if Troxell wants to aid another, he would need to make a Fort Save vs DC 10. Using his air elemental body to force air into Shanee's lungs is a clever idea and I would give a +4 bonus to both his aid another check and to Shanee's save.
@Stroud: you are also capable of aiding another if you spend the action.
@Teena and Troxell: you both have a "good omen" reroll you bargained for in the Witchmarket. Though it is currently bound to you, a good knowledge arcana check might allow you to pass it on to another person.

Teena uses a wand to grant heroic luck to Shanee. She also recalls some lore about omens and places a hand on his head, speaks a an arcane word, and links her fate with his. +2 aid bonus and a Reroll.
Tithon, seeing the group distracted, grabs a potion from under the folds of his cloak and swiftly drinks it.

Although pleased that Shanee finally begins breathing again, Troxell becomes more than a little concerned that with two of his companions are out of the fight, leaving him and Teena outnumbered. While his Thundercloud remains on top of one guard, Troxell casts Snowball and attempts to hit the other one.
