"Your attack? It sounds like post-traumatic jitters. Strange land. Strange brutes." Askrel pauses to eye the massive native called K'leck."You should be fine as long as you stay on chunky's good side." Thinking about what he just said, and once more looking over K'leck's hulking figure, he gulps a mouthful of saliva down a dry throat and brushes his hair to the side, averting his eyes to the same side.
K'leck grins widely at the elf, seemingly oblivious to his discomfort. "This is not a problem; ALL my sides are good sides!" he laughs as though he just made a brilliant joke.
"Demons, monsters, we will fight and conquer all. Our adventures will weave many a tale of valor and skill."

Ezra chuckles at K'leck's comment, finding the highlander to be be quite charming... if not big and scary as well. It was hard to believe such a big man had such a gentle demeanor. "I will leave the fighting and conquering to you. I am only here to talk and avoid getting into conflict. Though if I I run into it, I will be sure to find you.

"Demons?" Askrel scoffs. "We hardly even have problems with the goblins around here. Nothing bad... nothing at all ever happens in Tadloton."

Khron Stonearm |

Varian will turn his attention back to Khron, and, in dwarven, ask.
so, I know you said there wasn't much to tell, but I am curious as to why you sought out this guild? surely there were places for you back in your home? Do you seek something the lands of your ancestors could not give you?
Khron raises an eyebrow when Varian begins to speak to him in his mother tongue. "Они не могли ждать избавиться от меня. Говорит что я бросил тебя, что я был слишком прямолинейной," the warpriest says, his words rough but not angry-sounding, as he shrugs unconcernedly. He continues, a grin on his face, "Не волнует меня, нет. Они подготовку мне быть сильной, и я более чем готовы доказать, что я. И именно поэтому я здесь."
Doesn't bother me, none. They trained me to be strong, and I'm more than willing to prove that I am. And that is why I'm here.

Oooooh. I think if K'leck and I end up in the same party, he would definitely like the moment of greatness spell. Rage is a morale bonus after all ^_^
"You never know," Ezra warns. "Let us hope none of that ever comes to pass. It won't as long as we remain a strong and cohesive unit. We mere mortals can do that much at least."

Wow, a 1st level spell that would give me +8 Str and Con and +4 Will saves while raging? That would be terrifying. I'd have 28 Str and 23 Con. O_o And it makes me think I should swap out some shortspears for a full sized spear...

"Then will be easy job, yes? Plenty of time for drinking and stories. But Ezra is right: all things easier with friends. This is why is best to have MANY friends." K'leck raises his mug high is an informal salute to his many new "friends."

Ezra raises his own glass and gives a nod. "To allies, near and far.

sorry guys I had an all day table top game and I guess tomorrow is the day!! Good luck all
Tomorrow? My clock reads 2:30 AM ;) I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed, I mean, in just this brief roleplay session I grew pretty attached to Ezra

Welcome, Players, to the Tadloton Merc Guild.
The intro in the quest will be posted to the gameplay thread. Please make only 1 post in reaction to the scene that just happened and to state your own name and what "yer can do" between now and Wednesday around 5 PM when I will initiate the next sequence. You have until now and Wednesday at 5 to have your character completely set.
Some house GM notes:
-I run several characters as what I call GMPCs. These characters, such as Payk, Glifdore and Dante, will often post under their own alias. In addition to allies, some enemies will be played like PCs. This means I give them complete PC builds, and give them PC dying rules. So if you knock someone to the ground, make sure they're dead.
-I run combat in blocks, with all heroes that have a higher initiative then the next bad guy posting. After that point I will reconcile the Player posts, run the bad guys post, and then it's back to the players. I try to bunch multiple enemies under a single init roll, but will split out separate enemies in more important fights. In fact, as a good rule of thumb, if an enemy has their own init rule you should probably make sure they're dead.
-Make sure you list you AC, HP, Saves, Perception and Init in the Race and Class fields of you profile so that it shows under your name in the gameplay field.
-Please post your drawback (if you have one) below.
-Starting Gold Bonus: In addition to your base starting gold, all of your characters will have 4 weeks to prepare for your journey to Tadloton. The journey itself is paid for through letters of credit that Glifdore arranged, but you may spend the 4 weeks working. this means you can roll 4 Profession checks and add half that much in gold to your possession. You may also use that gold to buy additional equipment. Bards, entertainers, orators, anyone with a perform skill or other similar professions can add 1d4 rolls of their profession/perform skill to simulate performing on the journey to Tadloton. You may only take 1/4 of these rolls as gold.

Khron Stonearm |

Can we make Profession checks untrained? Khron's skill points are awfully limited, so I didn't grab any Profession stuff. :3

Khron Stonearm |

Pride is my drawback.

K'leckemaki |

K'leck does not have a drawback in terms of game mechanics.
During your travels, K'leck shares many Shoanti stories with you.
Perform (oratory): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
He does a remarkably good job. Consider yourselves all entertained. :-)

Huzzah! If he doesn't mind, Ezra will write that down and retell it later.

Profession (Priest): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Profession (Priest): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Profession (Priest): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Profession (Priest): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
11 + 17 + 6 + 17 = 51 / 2 = 25gp 5sp
Khron spends the month before his depature drinking, assisting around Dagh Boramm, and giving council to those seeking Torag's blessing.
I'll get working on Khron's introductory post soon. :)

I'm going to switch a trait (witty Repartee) Seeing as Yorrick and I decided to cover different face skills. I no longer have to be a liar ^_^ I will go with Domineering and apply it to the Command spell. I would have gone with something that gave me linguistics as a class skill, but then I saw we had a sage blooded sorcerer in the party.

Gotin "Banana" Immel |

I have no drawbacks, everything about me is perfect
profession: gambler: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Better yet... I will be switching it to Unscathed. Asmodeus decided in order to get the most out of Ezra, he had to make sure the Chelaxian lived long enough to gain power, influence and prestige... and so blessed him with resistances to energy attacks. (I've decided that the tiefling resistances were granted by Asmodeus, Ezra wasn't born with them since he doesn't really know he was a tiefling and at the moment still doesn't. Asmodeus decided that in order for his new pawn to survive long enough to be useful, he had to be resistant to SOME THINGS. Plus, as a squishy caster that can't wear armour, this makes it so that while melee damage still hurts, I have a pretty good resistance to magical attacks. ^_^
Just don't expect him to get near fire. Even if he may be resistant, he'd rather not get near it, or have anything to do with it...

Is the no armor a character choice thing? 'Cause oracles are proficient with both light and medium armor. Plus, divine caster, so no arcane failure chance.

Well for one, I have no money for armour. Most of that went to courtier's clothing so I have no penalties when talking to figures of authority... like the mayor! I'm also going to be going into Sorc at level 2. Can you guess what path a Tiefling Soracle is going to go down with the FAQ stating that SLAs count as prerequisites for prestige classes? (Hint, it helps that I am sticking with enchantment/ illusion spells. Otherwise I probably would not have been approved at all for this)

I understand it makes sense for you character to have courtier's clothing regardless, but I don't think the mayor of a small town counts as nobility and might even think less of you for coming to his house dressed to the nines

We'll just have to wait and see what the mayor of this town is like!

This book of letters I have says nothing about the mayor! It's as if some occult hand swooped out of the sky and ripped those pages from the book! (Ten points if you get the reference)

Flynn Miller |

Hello all.
No drawback.
Out of curiosity, I gave my animal companion full hit points on both level 1 hit dice is that correct?
Profession:Trapping: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Profession:Trapping: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Profession:Trapping: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Profession:Trapping: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
15+11+14+23 = 31gp 5sp
Changed wealth in profile. May check gear when I get home and have access to hero lab.

Ezra Thorne |

Welcome Flynn! Now you are our fifth party member. That means I think the only person left to post is Khron. Yay for an awesome party!
And seeing as how our High Intelligence caster dropped... I would like to change feats from Persuasvive (I will miss the +2 Bonus to Diplomacy and Intimidate) for Extra Revelation and take the Lore Keeper Revelation. I will ALSO be switching out my newest trait for something that I'm not sure of yet... but it will give me a knowledge as a class skill. Will keep you updated ^_^
I choose Secret Knowledge, and decided that it would be applied to Knowledge local.

K'leckemaki |

Ok, I think I'm good on gear. Swapped out some shortspears for spears, quickdraw shield for armor strikes, and bought misc items (like rope).
Question: I know arrows get destroyed if you shoot and hit someone; is the same true for thrown weapons like the ones I got? Assuming I throw them, that is, as opposed to using them in melee.
