Yeah, that was my first thought. He put a cast list in the campaign info.

I introduced a hero known as Terawing when I was answering my questions - who was nice to me, specifically. He's the one who ensured my trip through space ended with me getting medical care, and not with my unconscious body crashing head-first into the ground.
I also named someone known as Wellspring here. I imagined them to be part of the Institute's medical crew.

KQ introduced Omnirangutan here, and mentioned some other possible heroes and the villain Twinnings VonLukefish here.
We also have his retired grandmother, Madam Quick, here, who showed up at the same time as Lucy.

We also have Pestilence here, who we inflicted unspeakable horror upon.

I don't remember any other backstory folks that might have been missed.
Looking good, otherwise. No glaring omissions I can think of. Just the more missable omissions above.

I forgot Twinnings VonLukefish. That guy is a jerk!

Okay so... Terawing: Jumper-glider, talks to bird It's... as underwhelming as it sounds

Alix/Wellspring: Healer

Omnirangutan: Robo-ape powers?

Twinnings VonLukefish: the ability to send people into fits of laughter with an introduction? Yeah I got nothing

Madam quick: Being of pure electricity, superspeed, megaton guilt trip

Pestilence: the ability to have his body do That, and survive. again, up to you guys

I see TVLF as a Kingpin type crime boss. Might not even have powers. Is his real name.

Female Outsider | Danger 0 | Freak 0 | Saviour 2 | Superior 0 | Mundane 1 | Afraid, Guilty | ○●Potential●○ --- ●○○○○ | 2 Advancements | Current Advice: Trust and depend on others, and let them know about me

This is Twinnings VonLukefish. His superpower is having enough money for legal staff that can get him out of anything.

Also, aside from his actual powers, Terawing is a really good cook. He sometimes jokes he has a team of gourmet pigeons who help him taste test.
...honestly, it wouldn't be surprising if that was true.

It's because of this:

The Legacy Playbook wrote:
The legacy matters: When you take Influence over someone from your legacy (or give them Influence over you), mark potential and take +1 forward. When someone from your legacy causes your Labels to shift, mark potential and take +1 forward.

So, no, it's not a general thing.

I like the Kingpin idea for Vonlukefish, but if you'd rather have him as another super instead of a mastermind role, then perhaps the ability to calm everyone into an agreeable stupor within a certain radius. Keeps him kinda in a leader position, but gives him an ability that induces a calming effect (and since his name is Twinnings, he reminds me of tea, which induces a calming effect).

So Sorrel, why was it we didn't like each other before super powers? Jae Lin wouldn't be a jerk without reason, and perhaps the conflict left Sorrel wishing to reconnect while Jae Lin is still bitter.

And just to clarify, are you acting under the assumption that you know Tox's secret identity?

Transformed □□■■■|●●●●○ | Danger:±0 | Freak:+1 | Savior:+1 | Superior:-1 | Mundane:+2 |

I think Ricardo was a jerk. He was this too-clever-for-his-own good, delinquent, gun-toting, self-proclaimed badass. Whether Jae-Lin was similar or more well-mannered, Ricardo would have torn down anyone who wasn't a part of the popular kids. Now, Tox is the only holdover from that life, and Sorrel will do or be anything not to lose that.

I think it makes the most sense if they know each other's identities, if that's okay.

For some reason, I just love that since Elsine called you Ricardo in the update you're just rolling with it.

You even changed it from Richard on your profile.

Sure, mutual knowledge of Tox and Sorrel identities is fine for me.

Okay, think I know how to have Tox act on from here one then. Ricardo was a jerk, and Tox wasn't playing nice either. So Tox is still under the assumption that they're both at each other's throats.

Guardian Mirror:

Well, she's nervous bordering on (/well into) paranoid. With Michael, she's one part mother hen, one part strict schoolteacher.

She spends most of her time in a small but well equipped laboratory, underneath an office building in the high tech district.

In her TITAN days, she was a great deal more stable. Michael's leading theories about why she left:
-She saw something when mimicing Temporal Haze's future-sight and went into hiding to prevent/thwart it
-Something went wrong in that first incident with Yan'kir'nirith's Heralds a few years ago; maybe that comet impact was somehow her fault - or she thinks it was?
-She wound up mimicing something terrible, and it stuck - now she's struggling to keep whatever-it-is from consuming/corrupting her.

That give you enough to work with? Anything else you want to ask?

I feel like, at least from that last post, Jae-Lin will end up codifying the TITAN Policies and Procedures Manual, or being an influential editor. His background as a vigilante has given him a lot of insight into how to resolve crimes rather than to simply subdue criminals.

Yeah, just re-read that. It's fixed. Injuring innocents and over-exerting myself.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

okay, guys, quick question. How lethal/gritty/realistic do we want to play this.

There's a few directions. there is full-on Adam West(standard silver age), but I think that particular option is pretty much not on the table, given the campaign so far.

there is the standard modern age, where mundane weapon and people aren'treall threats, except in large numbers, and where advanced medicine lets people survive wounds that would be fatal in our world. in this option, powerful blows would generally come from either superscience weapons, or like exceptional superpowers

option 3 (well, really 2), the Worm/SFP/Bronze age (some of it anyway) route. in this, muggles are, while not as great a threat as supers, are not negligible either. low to moderate invincibility would be less common, and certain other powers would get thrown into the mix more. in this, unless you have powers that let you shrug them off (regeneration, low-level invincibility, force fields, whatever seems relevant) blades and firearms would represent powerful blows, in addition to normal superpowers, and death is on the table, for enemeis and bystanders, if people get reckless with their powers

this isn't, like, one or the other, just ideas of how this could work, and I would like to establish this about now.

also, for no real purpose, anyone besides Quentin have siblings? anyone have close freinds not on the team, (besides Tox)

also, who (if anyone) has seen Tox unmasked? and does Michael maintain a secret identity?

Transformed □□■■■|●●●●○ | Danger:±0 | Freak:+1 | Savior:+1 | Superior:-1 | Mundane:+2 |

On lethality:

The root of the question, I think, is "will people die" and that's something the genre suffers from.

I would set the lethality of "any given power" as equatable to a gun. Anyone can survive a gun, but a gun can flat-out kill someone. Some powers are less effective as a weapon, and many are more lethal or can negate gun-level harm, but the standard is a gunshot. It also reinforces the theme a few of us (read I) have been pushing that, to a certain extent, the public views us as a real threat, and what people should do about it is a real ethical issue.

By the same token, a part of this system that makes it work well is how "damage" is meaningless to a super. Emotional stability is what makes someone a hero or a villain. I have a feeling all the suits are at least kevlar, if not made by some spider-themed Edna Mode. If the fiction and the rolls say someone's getting merc'ed though, then them's the bones.

Using the current scene with Sorrel as an example, someone should die, or at least be taken off by an ambulance with an uncertain fate. Sorrel shouldn't be out unSupervised, and he's not ready to be responsible for himself, let alone others.

I've gotta think more about the relationship questions.

Male Legacy |Dan: -2|Fre: 1|Sav: 3|Sup: 1|Mun: 1| Angry, Insecure, Hopeless | Potential: 1/5 1 advancement

I'd prefer that people CAN die, but probably won't. I like what Sorrel said about this game being more about emotional damage than physical. If I wanted to get hacked and slashed I'd play Dungeon World.

Speaking of which I should see what's happening in that thread...

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Yeah, I understand what you mean about conditions being primarily emotional. most of the time, you haven't actually taken a hit when you mark a condition. But actually taking a hit will usualy trigger either a harder condition (not your choice of two, I just choose) or a powerful blow. at least, that's sorta how I interpreted the rules.

Little later then intended, but I'll chime in.
I've been running on the assumption that most of us probably would be vulnerable to mundane weaponry, though generally not quite so much as a non-super, between equipment and common stock powers. The thing there would just be that what supers can throw against normal people is just better - easier to bring to bear, more damaging/incapacitating, harder to counteract...even if they don't have anything blatantly fight-worthy, most supers have a way to be more trouble than they're worth to handle. I mean, the hell are you supposed to ambush a precog?

In short, normals could well be threatening without numbers or crazy tech or something...but they're generally nothing you can't handle.
Still though, have to agree with the others in that this isn't about taking wounds and having to be wary of the spectre of death. Don't get me wrong, people should get injured. Perhaps even us. But it should be something impactful when it happens or when it's threatened, something that means something and something that you don't just disregard, rather than the casual affair of most games. I figure that goes back to emotional damage - it could affect you, it could affect someone else, but it should affect someone, and the effect it had should be important. That's how I'm looking at this.

Close friends is a simple one to answer. After all, Solmira is obviously a social butterfly. (Not.)
Siblings is an interesting question to me, though. Celdimeravi's a different planet, with a social structure unlike Earth. What importance family holds, and how inter-familial relationships work out could prove quite different. Still, family could be meaningful to Solmira, just as much as it could be meaningful to any family she has...just in different ways.
I'll have to think about how that goes. In any case though, I'm figuring Solmira has older siblings - a brother and a sister.

Male Janus| Danger +2 | Freak -2 | Saviour 0 | Superior 0 | Mundane +3 | ○●Potential●○ --- ●●○○

Whoops, meant to reply as well.

I like the setting where folks are able to die, but narrative guidance usually circumvents it.

I don't think anyone on the team knows my real identity except maybe Sorrel, though with all the things I've been having to do to keep it that way, I feel that a logical person could narrow it down and out me if they want. Honestly though, will probably induct the team one by one as events play out.

Protege 2.2 | Danger -1, Freak +2, Savior +1, Superior +1, Mundane +0 | guilty, insecure | +1 ongoing to getting team in shape

I'm generally in agreement with what's been said so far - significant injury/death are possible, but probably infrequent and not really the focus. (Really, the "treat human life as meaningful" principle sums it up nicely.)

As far as PC death, as I read the rules that's basically ruled out as a GM move, except in the case of the Doomed.

Siblings - Michael has at least one, I'll have to skim back through the threads and see if I've named one already or not.

Secret identity - nope. His real name's on all the Institute paperwork. (The Institute and/or Guardian Mirror probably do at least a little monitoring of his family, but Michael doesn't really worry about it too much. Nothing's gone wrong yet, after all.)

Q is zeroing in on the mystery of the open communicator line. He'll likely be walking into your work at some point soon, though he's not entirely sure what he's looking for.

Ricardo's older half-sister, Isabel, raised him. She fought to keep him home, but since he's been gone, she's had time to finish her GED, and has a fiancee, Han Chen.

Han tries to keep in touch. It's so awkward. His picture is in the dictionary under "normal".

Ricardo's mother is alive... Somewhere. She doesn't show up unless she's in trouble and needs something from you.

Ricardo's uncle still runs the garage, but they haven't been speaking. He's not the speaking type.

Sorrel doesn't offer his real name to just anyone. Turnabout probably knows it because he's the leader, and because of Mirror, and makes a point of using it, but Sorrel's feelings about his name are all twisted up. His isn't a mask he can take off.

Other than Tox, he doesn't have a place or person to go to to get away from the institute, and right now (even though he's a little clingy) Sorrel considers their relationship a rivalry.
