That's better than nothing I suppose. I'll try and raise the Thunderhawk and let them know we're down here.
Lucian deduces that they have landed not far from the site of the original mission, and while Elyas continues to look for the mutants, he tries to raise the other team on the vox.
Do the Kill-Teams/Thunderhawk/Valkyries have call signs?
+++Deathwatch Thunderhawk, this is Brother Lucian Vartas. Myself and Brother Elyas have been deployed near to your position, and are here to further evaluate the mutant threat. I am unable to contact any members of the Kill-Team. Please inform the mission leader of our presence and our mission.+++

Brother Lucian Vartas |

+++Understood Black 7. Any further details on numbers or disposition? Was that friendly bolter fire, or are they extraordinarily well armed mutants?+++
Lucian switches back to the squad vox channel.
Elyas, any evidence of where these mutants are coming from? Black 7 has alerted me to more mutant scouts in the area, they must be coming from somewhere near here.

Brother Lucian Vartas |

+++Roger that Black 7. Keep me up to date with events around the shrine, we may be moving out soon.+++
Evidently the team at the shrine are holding their own, hopefully they'll refrain from attracting the whole horde with their bolter fire Lucian thinks. He had hoped to scare the scout away and follow it back to the mutant base, but now will have to rely on Elyas and his magnoculars.

You can enter Squad Mode outside of Combat. Solo Mode is just the default assummed by the game if Squad Mode isn't explicitly stated. (Isn't this answered in a F.A.Q. on FFG's site?) It represents tactics. And you can activate Squad Mode Abilities at any time and switch between them freely and have multiple at a time if they are sustained.

Elyas |

Elyas is focusing on the compound when the shot rang and the wailing begins. He quickly turns his attention to the lone scout. "Compound 500 m south, no movement. Still one mutant scum identified, now wailing. Shall I take him out?" comes the reply.
This is my last post for tonight and I might not be able to post much Friday and Saturday.

If I had not made it clear by now. We are going with the book. I am not going to continually reference. F.A.Qs and Errata I have a hard enough time going to the book for answers. The book is pretty clear when squad mode is taken. I know you want to get into it without paying for a full round, but that is how it works in this game.

Brother Gaius |

Well the full round is just for a single player anyone else in support range can enter it for free alongside them. And I am just pointing it out. As it is in the Core Rulebook the F.A.Q. on the Forum is just clarifying. Which is what the F.A.Q.s and Errata are for. And I don't care about the action trust me I am used to games like Arcanis where I get 1 attack every 3 rounds. I am just trying to make sure we aren't screwing ourselves over because we misread the book. That goes for everyone in the game.

Yes, and when is the game divided into rounds and free actions? COMBAT That is what he was asking. If you are not in combat, no you can not just sit in squad mode. I am making that ruling right now. I just read the F.A.Qs there is nothing about squad mode FYI. Once again you are wrong about what is in those documents so please stop quoting them.

Brother Gaius |

Sadly this doesn't fit with a PM as it is a pretty major deal. The main reason for the new ruling was because if you can't start in Squad Mode then Abilities like Lightning Strike are worthless as they require Squad Mode and take place before initiative is rolled. So if you can't start Combat in Squad Mode then that ability is worth less than a Gretchin to a Warboss.

Brother Lutha Hallan |
It's already been decided, he said no.
It's over. He is fully aware that the errata exists and is choosing not to use it.
That means your arguments no longer pertain to the game at hand. If you want to keep it up take it to PMs, but from here it's starting to look rather nasty and I for one don't want this game going up in flames.

You were wrong about requisition Gaius, and if it is not even on an Offical PDF than it is not worth mentioning . I asked you to drop it before, and yet you persist. If you want to run a game based on non-official rules on a forum then make your own. My game is simple, just need a book. Its not that just that you are trying to overturn my ruleings it is also that you are consistently wrong.

Brother Gaius |

The Thread is the official one since they haven't updated the PDF since 2011! And how was I wrong? Technically it is per person based on the table in the Errata. And If I am wrong then how the hell is the Storm Warden Attack Pattern Supposed to work.
Errata PDF Page 6:
Setting Requisition (page 273): The sentence “Table 9-4: Setting Requisition details the amount of Requisition a Mission should have based on its Objectives and their difficulties” should change to “Table 9-4: Setting Requisition details the amount of Requisition each Battle-Brother should have for the Mission based on its Objectives and their difficulties."
Core Rulebook Page 222:
Lightning Strike
Chapter: Storm Wardens
Action: Reaction
Cost: 2
Sustained: No
Effects: The Storm Wardens know well the doctrine of strike f irst, strike fast and practise this both in personal duels and their squad tactics. A Battle-Brother of the Storm Wardens Chapter may order a Lightning Strike at the start of any combat where neither side is Surprised (see page 235). The BattleBrother and those in Support Range of him immediately gain a Surprise Round just as if they had Surprised their foes. Improvement: If the Battle-Brother is Rank 3 or more, in addition to gaining a Surprise Round, both he and those supporting him may roll two dice and choose the highest when determining their Initiative for the following combat.

How would this work. I have read it. I have read it so many times I can type the accursed thing from memory.
