Hi Guys,

I'm currently looking for a PbP Deathwatch campaign after reading the very awesome "Shadow War" Campaign which is currently suspended because their GM has problem with her PC.

I have plenty of "normal" P&P experience but never played PbP before, but it looks (and reads!) really cool, and it would fit my current daily life (sitting much time in train from University to Office and vice versa).
I had only played Deathwatch in two (exceedingly long) sessions, because our group has difficulties with setting up a common date to play but I really like the w40k background, and playing a Space Marine, is just soooo awesome =D

Currently I'm playing a LVL 1 Salamander Tech-Marine, but I pretty much like all the specialties, so it might change.
As Chapters I really like the Wolves. But also Black Templar, Blood Raven, Raptors (or Raven Guard) and Salamanders sounds really nice to me.

I will begin to read your campaign after work (can't wait to start, I really like 40k stories of nearly all kind).

So far for a first introduction of myself.

Let me know if you currently need/want another player for your campaign.

Hey, you're welcome to catch up and create a character, details should be recent in the campaign tab and this thread and/or discussion thread. You'll need some time, let me know if you need help or have questions. We currently have a salamander tech marine, so I'd prefer another class, but that chapter is fine. If you really want to play a tech marine that's cool, just differentiate yourself. I'll consider how to work you in, depends on your pc. Please create an alias like everyone else has, can cut /paste many parts and change your details. Be creative and pull from any wh40k books to put together a character and history.

Also quite interested. Only played once, but I love 40k. I'm thinking an Ultramarine devastator.

Cool, I will start creating tomorrow.
As far as I have seen my Character will start at "blank" lvl6 and then chatches up with the others after the first mission?
130P buy system, max 20 on each.

Can you provide me with an shortcut to the start of the current mission. Everything oldet myCharacter is Unlilely to knoe (I will read through your whole campaign but it may take some time, so a shortcut to thestart of the mission will be speeding things up I think)

Will take a look at the current set up, bevore choosing my Character anyway.

Alias is something I has to research first, Im new to this site =D

So far: The Emporer Protects!

You won't be briefed on the current mission and probably aren't with the current Marines, when you get your pc finished I'll bring you in some way that'll make sense.

You begin at level 6, 12000 is starting xp Marines begin with at level 1, as you begin with many standard talents and abilities, so you only have 23000xp to spend on talents, background, distinctions, etc.

To create an alias, click on my account and scroll down, there's a section that let's you create aliases.

Same as above, you're welcome to submit a pc.

@Worg: Why not playing a Devastor? More DakaDaka is always good.

I'm working currently on a Blood Angel Assault Marine => Deathwatch Chaplain to go kicking some heretic asses in close combat!

@Snowman: What will be the starting renown?
I will make an alias as soon as I have decided on my Character (and his Name of course^^).

How strict do you handle Signature Wargear Rules? I really want the Blood Angel Chapter Wargear "Angelus Jumppack" which is at 25 Requisition Point, but Signature Wargear allows only 20. Would be a shame to waste the bis Signature Wargear for 5 additional Points ...

Since an assault marine begins with a jump pack, I'll let you have the Chapter one for your signature wargear.

Starting Renown is 50 I think for you all.

Assault marine with Chaplain specialty sounds good.

We currently have no Apothecary, could use one.

I thought about Apothecari but looking at the existing characters I had noticed some Medic Skills and also Narcotica. And also I really like the idea of a Meele Chaplain with Fear Rating of 3 and Battle Rage =D

How about two Weapon Fighting:
The Talent two weapon Wielder is (in the erreta) a lvl 7 common Space Marine advance. You can parry while two weapon fighting.

Until I can get that Talent I intend to use a Thunderhammer for Meele, but keeping my Crozius Arcanum in the other hand to Parry, but not for Attacking (would be at -30 without the Talent ... well ... maybe sometimes I'll risk it for awesomeness =D)
Would that be legal? (Attacking with thunderhammer and parrying with the Crozius?)

Yea, its legit. You are ambidextrous. We now follow the errata for ALL weapon profiles, so update those or ask if you don't have them in your alias profile.

The two weapon wielder talent is two separate talents, one for melee and another for ballistic. You can attack with any weapon in either hand, its IF you attack with both as a single action, then you get the penalties and require talents. So yes, you can run around with both and choose to attack with one without penalty and/or parry with a different one. Up to you.

As for Apothecari, we got some med skills, but no one is really the "medic" and currently no one to retrieve gene-seed should any of you or NPC marines fall. People seem fine so far, but it could come to bite you all in the ass. People should have some nartheciums and med-kits...Maybe someone too the background Gene Anomaly that gives them medic, but no one, to my memory, has really focused in that area. If you're interested in taking some Elite Advances for Medicine, then I'd let you take them for a good price :) PM if you're interested.

(I know its kind of a lame class and boring position in some players eyes, and since no one has been interested in it and Zedkiel is MIA, then I'd like that roll filled, or atleast someone with the skills that can play the part, would just be nice to have a balanced squad, that's all. Anyways, play and do as you like, just throwing out my GM opinion.)

Mhhh well I think it is a little too late, because I really much got Brother Deleos finished and I think he will be pretty bad-ass.
Would be a shame to begin from scratch (I do not like to change Char Concepts, I would create a new one, maybe a Wolf Priest).
Maybe if the first one is gone to the Black Rage or right away killed =D

But your right, Apothecari is kinda boring, not because of the Specialization (I like them) but because of the advances ... nothing really combat oriented.
I had a while ago a concept in mind of a sniper Raptor Apothecari ... but there are just to many talents missing, and expensive BS advancement for the healer ...?^^

Brother Deleos will come online later today I think.

If you've got it done today, may just let you join today, depending on how it's setup and history. Guys just stepped out and found the installation. We'll see. Anyone mind? Otherwise it'll be a while til you join... Or I put you on the ship... Could be useful later... Not sure I want to run another story there that I had planned to just narrate... I'll think on it after I see your pc.

+++ Brother Deleos ready for examination by Mission Command +++

No objection here with Deleos joining early.

No objections here. I'm mostly just following until I can get my laptop fixed.

No problems here either. We could do with some serious close combat muscle.

One Question remains ...
Assault Marines can choose one of two skills: One will help killing Hordes, the other one is Single Target damage.
You know the strengths of The killteam way better than me. What do You Need more?

I wouldn't worry too much, pick whatever suits your character. I would suggest that ranged we are probably well served against hordes with lots of full or semi auto fire. In close we are more limited as our assault marine had to leave so probably better against single enemies.

When it comes to requisition, may i suggest a signum link,I have a signum so the more that benefit, the better value it was.

Currently looking for someone to replace me as GM for this long standing Deathwatch campaign. It's the only one on Paizo to my knowledge and I'd love to keep it running, great group of players. Willing to help in any way with the transition, sadly I can no longer continue for RL reasons. Active group of 4-6 players. All timezones. Usually updated every few days, at least twice a week for most, if not more. No real newbies, everyone has a strong sense of the game and their PCs, even a novice GM could find great support here as I did.

Thanks for your interest. Hope to hear from someone soon.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'd love to join as a player if this continues. MASSIVE interest :D

Willing to help a new GM out with tips or explanation about anything in the WH40k world, rules or anything. Over 25 years of RPG and WH40k experience

BUMP..

Would be nice to have a new GM, this story was amazing.

Agreed, I miss this!

Yeah, I am still kicking around here as well. It was a lot of fun...

Same here, even more as it was my very first mission!

"So my brothers long for the taste of glory, to purge the xenos, to route the heretic and to burn the unclean. Suit up brothers, for only in death does your duty end!"

I am the one that originally started this, but I know you have had other GMs since that picked it up which I am greatful for. I had been trying Dark Heresy 2nd with another account, but it didn't take off like this did. I just finished my real life Deathwatch Campaign which was a serious hit at my game store. I actually had to recruit more GMs to meet the demand so I am confident you will be pleased with it. So if there is enough interest I will post a link here under my new account-Gathrix, for a new campaign. It has a brutal start using the campaign book Soul Reaver from the Rogue Trader line, but if you survive you will know you earned every exp and renown to your name.

Soul Reaver Interest Check

I'm so stoked the BUMP actually worked. Thanks Enoch!

Emperor's balls! I missed the Soul Reaver campaign, still looking for a Deathwatch campaign to join

Who is still around, I've nearly got my brother convinced to resume this awesome campaign.

Still here.

Present.

Ready and waiting

I'm here if you need any new battle brother.

Welcome, I don't know what the GM plans to do, but creating a PC now would get you a head start. Caimpaign tab should have the details, its been a while, so not fresh off the top of my head.

I'm still here. Thanks to Deleos for alerting me to this possibly coming back.

Well that looks like nearly everyone. Just spent some time catching up on the latest posts and gathering my thoughts for how to resume. Hoping to pick up where we left off, as though nothing ever happened. Hows everyone feel about that?

If we have room, I'm willing to accept other applicants, but won't hold the game up for you. Get your PC together and we will insert you soon.

I'm excited to return, few things on my IRL timeline are off, but I do have the time now again to continue this story. Expect an update soon, maybe a short one to get people started, with more details to follow afterwards.

Any clue how to have the campaign shown in our active campaigns and not hiddent/inactive? Might need to contact paizo.

So, lets get to it men, report for duty and update in gameplay.

Hoireka! Welcome back Snowman.
I am fine with just continuing this game where we left.
Also the new post in the gameplay did the trick already. We're officially alive again!

Huzzah! Thanks for coming back to us BayouSnowman!
Just got to remember how to play again, and not get the rules confused with the Only War game I'm also in!

So things I remember so far :

We're in black shield armor, most of us. Jumped ships and our last one was blown up with a dirty magos. New ship brought us to a system full of some information, we got some distress message leading us here planetside. We're also currently orbiting a black sun and daemons have us questioning why we're here and what we're actually doing.

Xing is pretty wounded, not sure about others, but I'll go back and figure out my total remaining wounds and fate points. As well as my requisition.

We have leader or Oath?

Sounds about what I remember. I think Hammern is in charge, can't remember what the oath was though.

Welcome back Snowman!

I was squad leader this time, and the Oath was to the Emperor.

Glad to have you back.
I'll be traveling for the next two days but I'll try to something up.

Who's still around?

To the new guys that requested to join, I have posted a summary of recent events, which you'll be unaware of IC, but feel free to read, as some of it could have or will be shared, though maybe in less detail.

Posting to confirm interest. I'll be able to read over the information properly later today.

I got a PM from Vartas, he's currently too busy with other games to resume his PC here, so I'm most likely going to bot him if he doesn't mind, he was appointed captain of the "Dark Tide" so it won't be to bad if he my voice and others are doing missions.

Still need a squad layout, that's next, of everyone who is here and their roles as marines and aboard the ship.

How are the new guys coming along? Please post whatever you can regarding your Marines asap as it affects the story and my own preparation. Thanks.

Any new pc discussion should be here in recruitment, IC stuff in discussion thread.

Was working on both XP and gear, and found a copy of "Outer Reach" and damn, the Dead Station Veteran seems perfect for this mission. I had been looking for some kind of quirk or advance to make my tac-marine stand apart and it looks solid. Think it would make sense for a necron specialist to be pulled in for this mission, thus justifying my character being added to the kill-team as well.

Just to clarify, with advanced specialties, deeds, and the like, any XP spent on those does not count towards level, is that correct?
