"Welcome to Station Paxem, recruit! You are ordered to report for induction and orientation at 0800 local time."

Station on the Borderworlds is a Starfinder/StarJammer play-by-post. It begins at first level and ends about 4th. I am looking for four players to play new recruits for the Blackvine Company, a mercenary organization dedicated to protecting the Cyrollia System safe from pirates, evil cults, and anything else that threatens the good souls of Cyrollia.

If you hadn't guessed from the title, this module is based on the original AD&D Keep on the Borderlands, but in space!

I'm looking for four players, as I said. I'm more or less taking the first four folks who want to play, though I'm holding one slot for a potential player for a day or two.

That means if you're interested, commit now before the slots are filled!

Character Creation:
Characters will mostly be built using the standard Starfinder rules. Anything that is Paizo official rules is allowed.

StarJammer character options are also freely allowed, and the adventure includes rules from that line of products.

Other 3PP rules will be considered so long as the GM is able to access them, either through his own copies or online. Regardless of access, GM approval is required to ensure the concept will function in the scope of the adventure.

In addition to using the standard Starfinder rules, each character must select one of the special Campaign Traits. Each trait may only be selected once; no two characters can have the same trait.

Take note that characters will be about or just over 4th level going into the end. The module uses the "Advanced" experience track.

Good luck recruits!

sounds interesting, I don't have any starjammer stuff though

The StarJammer stuff is not strictly required, the module just happens to use some things from the book, so I'm leaving it open 3pp full approval for anything used by that line. And the version that was updated post SF's release, obviously.

Definitely interested, I've been massively enjoying Starfinder and really wish there was more interest in it on here.

Dotting.

Liberty's Edge

I'll take a gander and see where this goes. Haven't had a chance to do any Starfinder stuff yet, so a test drive is definitely in order.

Would definitely be interested! Would Spheres of Might 3PP be on the table? The conversion guide to SF can be read here.

There is a lot to digest looking at their wiki, so it would depend more on a specific concept/general direction you intended to go, but I am more than willing to hear the character out.

Alright, just so's you all know, I'm planning an Exocortex Mechanic with the Blackvine Hopeful trait.

I am working on an ace pilot operative convict trait

Working on a Scholar Technomancer, no theme just yet.

Submitting Issac, an Android Mechanic. Hopefully that doesn't step on any toes. I'm taking the Drone option rather than Exocortex. Exocortex Mechanics tend to be more combat focused I think (this would be my first Starfinder campaign) Issac will be more skill focused. In terms of starship combat, if there is any, I'm shooting for a position as Engineer. Though he could do just as well as a science officer or make a decent gunner, anything except captain really. Mechanically he should be complete, just need to commit backstory to text.

Ok almost done with my character, Velocity is a half-elf operative, thief, and Ace pilot theme.

character pic

not complete on the background.

but going with the convict trait as the character is a bit of a gambler, as well as a crook, and swindler, but most of all, a natural pilot with a need for speed.

Human Merc Envoy in the vein of Sgt. Al Apone /SgtMaj. Avery Johnson.

Here to do the job, get the pay, and live the life.

So far so good. Someone with magical bent would be helpful (though not necessary) to fill that last slot.

Story:
Frankly a lot of people scoffed when the kid with the degenerative spinal condition decided he was going to join the Blackvines. They would not have called it that, preferring to couch their incredulity as sympathy for the kid's parents and the pain they must feel at not being able to drive home his dire condition. After all, there was no way he would be able to afford the treatments on his backwater home planet and he would be lucky to live to see sixty even with the treatments.

When the kid hacked an auto-doc and had it perform an absurdly risky nerve bypass with an obsolete and heavily modded datajack, they were too shocked to stop him.

Things seemed to return to normal for a while, sure he was walking around under his own power now but that was nothing really. The kid had an expiration date, no matter how much he might run himself through physical therapy regimens to make up for lost time or how he might work at refurbishing the second-hand pulsecaster rifle he dug out of a scrap-heap.

Then he got the armor.

Cheap military surplus, poorly fitted and with a gaping hole from where it failed to protect its last wearer. He had to patch it and that took time too, but he did not rush and did not cut corners. When he was ready, he left with barely a good-by, turning his back on the backwater scrap-planet that had birthed him. After all, he had a tight schedule to see to.

I'll get an alias up in a minute.

Edit: Boom, bare-bones at the moment but I'll probably flesh it out soon.

Dotting for interest. I can't get enough Starfinder right now.

Does this game use the Pact Worlds setting?

Will there be starship combat?

Are there still openings? I would be interested in playing more starfinder

Well, I'm going through the current submissions today. Probably not, but you never know, someone might be totally ill-suited in some way or have to make some correction/resubmit.

It uses an original 3pp setting but that doesn't negate Pact Worlds material/characters. There is some starship combat, but there is a lack of a compelling battle. I might end up adding a decent combat scene if things play out well for one. I am a little worried about running starship fights on PbP just because of the super tactical nature and how slow the phase structure might be, but I intend to give it a shot at least once to try and learn how to run it best for future games.

Er, I should have added:

At this point my intention is to take the first four (mostly)complete characters with profiles. I don't mind if folks want to hold off on the traits or purchasing gear until the party is formed, but I want to avoid overlap so that the team can handle a range of situations.

That means that right now we have Isaac 3 and Castor fully submitted. They're both mechanics, but they are different in a lot of ways, so there isn't significant overlap in skills and abilities.

As much as I want to experience this module converted and finally play in the system, I'll withdraw my interest. I've got enough going on that I might not be able to do this justice.

Will get velocity posted saturday. Sorry but working some extra shifts this week

Dataphiles

ok Ed here: here is Velocity (see alias)

So that makes two mechs and an op. Could use either some magical backup or a solid front-line hitter for a fourth. A face-type wouldn't hurt either, just from my perspective would be lowest priority.

Dataphiles

Velocity could be a little like a face type. not the best of course

Exo-Guardians

Hello, If there is room I would be interested in playing, Vesk Soldier he willing to take some hits for the team.

Well, alright, there you have it! Bagit makes four, so I will get the Discussion thread up ASAP so you guys can do any last-minute tinkering and figure out who is grabbing which of the traits. I will try and get everything else up as soon as I am able.

Here is the link to the Discussion Thread. Squad! Fall in! :D

Liberty's Edge

Let me know if you do this again it siunds interesting.

And here is gameplay. Going to be late, but glad to get it up!

One of the current group has gone MIA, so I'm sending out an open call for a new fourth! It is still early in the game, so the same character creation rules as initially posted apply, just go to the very first post in this thread.

First fully formed character submitted will be accepted. Currently the group includes a soldier, mechanic, and an operative. If you expressed interest in the past, submit (or resubmit) in a new post.

Dataphiles

just a bump, I'm Velocity, the party flirt and crook, and the one that has a need for speed.

You gt a ship, I can fly it, ya wanna fly with me?

send in your application now.

Frak! is from game that goes nowheres. You take Frak! somewheres? Frak! need monies cause Longshanks take all Frak!'s monies.

Considering submitting a Mystic.

Is this the kind of campaign where a Xenodruid would be useful? There would have to be a significant amount of wilderness exploration for that kind of character to be worth creating.

A xenodruid would have been just fine, but I did say first come, first serve and that brought in a...goblin...solarian...! Lol, interesting. So uh, welcome Frak!, just give me a short time to get things going, been wrestling with RL schedule issues that make it tough to post well but I will send you a little blurb about what has happened to you since arriving a few days ago.
