engineering group...
you make your way to the ship's power core. everything is dead. all the controls are non-responsive.
there appears to be a single figure standing by a control console, its back is facing you. it is not moving.
the ship appears to have been hit by a massive EMP burst
This definitely originated from the planet surface and is NOT a natural occurrence
those going to the life signs...
the life sign is coming from the medical bay. you manage to force the door open and find the medical bay completely dark and silent.
save a single blinking red light on the control panel for a cryo chamber typically used to stabilize a patient for transport to a more advance facility.
the system is on battery power and only has about an hour left.
all vital signs are stable for now but if the system battery dies the patent will most likely die.
the patient in the chamber has suffered some sort of energy blast hit. he also appears to have several cybernetic implants that are unlike anything you have seen before.

Engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
K’teskt speaks to Rex and Kek-jikek telepathically. ”It looks to me like this ship was hit by an EMP. Doesn’t seem like a naturally occurring one, though. Must have come from down on the surface.” Once he has relayed the information, he cautiously approaches the figure, remaining out of arm’s reach just to be safe, opening a comm channel. ”Hey, you okay?”
| *Fenrus |
Fenrus' eyes sweep through the Medbay, landing on the cryo chamber.
Over the Comms, Fenrus will say "<<Found a cryopod here. I do not want to open it until we can determine the reason the person was put into the pod."
| Kek-jikek |
Kek nods, happy to leave the science-y side of things to the better trained K'teskt. Given the welcome on the hull, Kek is not about to take chances with more undead - as K'teskt begins communications with the figure in the room, Kek stretches out one spindly arm, levels their flare gun and keeps their finger on the trigger, ready to fire, aiming at the still being.

It says it works with any creature within 30' that you share a language with, but if it doesn't work, I can send it over comms before engaging the mysterious figure.
