"Let us go then!" - the Vesk growls - "We see who is the strongest! Who is entitled to wear the mantle of victor!" - and swings the doshko in a wide arc, aimed at the creature's midsection.

Doshko: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage if it hits: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

"Gents, someone grab that mounted tactical X-gen gun on the wreckage over there, and unleash on this one - give it HELL!" - he suggests to his companions, pointing at the weapon.

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

I use Get’Em on the creature as a move action giving +1 to hit to everyone.
And then I attack:
Ranged azimuth laser pistol: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Quig, take care of the gun!

I attack the creature with the mind thrust spell again.

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Will DC 15 for half damage

damage: 2d10 ⇒ (1, 9) = 10

Male Ysoki Bounty Hunter Mechanic 1 - HP: 10/14, SP 14/14, RP 4/4; Scout HP 10/10

I move to the tactical gun everyone's talking about, and fire it if I still have time.

Scout shoots once again
Att/Dmg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d6 ⇒ 1

Male Ysoki Bounty Hunter Mechanic 1 - HP: 10/14, SP 14/14, RP 4/4; Scout HP 10/10

My ATT + DMG: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d12 ⇒ 10

Campaign log

Oderons weapon hits a strong blow the creatures side, his weapon vibrating from its strange sonic powers
Keskodai once again focus his will on the creature sending painful thoughts at it.

Quig takes a bit to adapt to the powerful weapon in his hands and shoots wide

But the wounds pile up on the creature, it extents high in the air in its death throes and falls down suddenly, very much dead

The vibration you felt since you were here stops and averything seems to quiet down

rolls:

save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

a.k.a. 'Odo'

"HAH! Well done all!" - Oderon commends his companions, as he removes his doshko from where it had embedded itself in the creature's hide - "You said these crystals on its carapace are valuable Kesk? Do you know how to remove them?"

Do I know how to remove them RNGod?

Also, Oderon wants to take another look at the tactical X-gen gun - am I able to remove and carry it?

Male Ysoki Bounty Hunter Mechanic 1 - HP: 10/14, SP 14/14, RP 4/4; Scout HP 10/10

Quig takes Scout and reloads its ammo, then sends him up again to... erm... Scout :)

Campaign log

To get the crstals from the carapace, you need a DC 12 Life check.
You can remove the gun but it will take some time. It's heavily damaged though and can't be reloaded (it sill has 9 shots). You can probably still sell it as scrap

a.k.a. 'Odo'

Bah... Life check...

Oderon goes to remove the tactical X-gen gun from its mount - "I'll take care of that beauty" - he nods - "One of you lads get those crystals. I have no idea how"

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Guys let me take my breath, that creature hit me hard when she poped from the sands ...

I'm not sure on the rules but as I remember I rest 10 minutes to recover my hp

a.k.a. 'Odo'

If you only took Stamina damage yep, I think that is it - Recovering Stamina Points: You can regain all your Stamina Points by spending 1 RP and taking 10 uninterrupted minutes of rest.

"Sure man, take a break - I'm gonna take one myself right after I make sure this X-Gen is in our hands"

Campaign log

The group rests up a bit and recover their breath.

Odo, manages to recover the weapon and secure it on his shoulder

I still need the Life check, or else, no crystals

a.k.a. 'Odo'

Botting so we can proceed.

Keshkodai Life Science: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

After the break, I search around on the outside of the ship to see if I notice anything interesting or dangerous ...
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Guys when you are ready let's search the ship

Campaign log

You manage to extract some crystals from the carcace, it should fetch a good price back at Absalom station.
Then you focus your atention on the wreckage

You can plainly see that the vessel is far beyond repair. Someone activated the distress beacon but apparently there are no survivors, you just see seven desiccated corpses.

I need perception rolls for more searching, Computers to search the ships computer

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Can I take 20 in perception and/or computers?

a.k.a. 'Odo'

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Oderon seems to be more interested in pondering whether that alien bug may be flavorful or not...

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

If we cannot take 20:
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Computers: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Guys, during a fight if you need some heeling yell at me.

I try to take some crystals (or help Odo)
Life Science: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

I also search the ship and check the computers.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Computers: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Campaign log

With skilled hands, Kesk manages to extract several crystals from the beast's carapace

Then the whole group looks around the doomed ship.

You can plainly see that the ship is beyond repair. Someone probably survived enough to activate the distress beacon but there are no survivors—seven desiccated corpses remain in the wreckage, and the only signs of the remaining crew members are half eaten pieces here and there.

Perception DC 15:

Analysing the ships damage, you recognize characteristic impact marks of heavy metallic slugs, such as those used in coilguns or railguns on starships. The damage on the ship’s hull indicates that it tried to dodge the strafing fire but darted the wrong way.

You gain the clue 'Lawblight Evasion'

Nothing else of value remains in the wreck;
anything obviously worth salvaging was already plundered earlier. Although the Unbounded Wayfarer’s computers are beyond repair, they retain sufficient power to interact with the Starfinder insignias you've brought with you. The computer interface ports contain an indentation the same shape as the Starfinder insignias. (apparently, its looters overlooked this connection.) When one of the insignias is slotted into the indentation, the computer flares to life just enough to activate one last time.

Computers DC 15:

You manage to make it display a datafile of worlds previously explored by crew of the Unbounded Wayfarer. They include:
• A wasteland planet called Elytrio that displayed signs of scattered technology.
• A sentient asteroid called Lamentia teeming with morlock “children” in the Vast.
• A massive space station called End of Bright Things stuck between the orbits of two blue dwarf stars.
• A stormy, oceanic world called Wealdriad, with upthrust columns of basalt piercing the storm-tossed ocean’s surface.

This final location’s coordinates are too damaged to display, but the computer has enough power to open a slot containing a salvaged item from that location. Opening it, you see a small shinning rock

You can easily download this data into any personal data device, or send a wireless transmission of the files to the Odyssey for storage.

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Ok, I send it to the Odissey and also copy it to myself.
Someone got here before us. Any clues on who plundered the ship?

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Well, those guys had the insignias, so I'm not surprised the place had already been searched.

Guys we got the list of the worlds that the ship visited.
The last location is unreadable but it seems this rock comes from that place, whatever that is...
Anyone can figure anything from this rock?

Any chance we can extract the hard drive, maybe we can recover more information back at the base?

a.k.a. 'Odo'

Odo scratches his scaly head while pondering the situation - "Captain Arvin did request us to also recover any of the lost Starfinders - dead or alive" - he adds. looking around for canvas or something else he can wrap the corpses with, so they can carry them back to The Odyssey.

Stuff about the rock should use... The Physical Science skill - a skill none of us have I think... And it is Trained only.

Apart from that Oderon is good to go.

The desiccated corpses are not undead or anything like that, right? :D

RNGod one more question, can we Take 20 both on Perception and Computers ? Since we are not in a hurry? If so, while searching Oderon will take the 20 in Perception. Let me know.

Campaign log

They're not moving... for now ;)

You can take 20 on Perception but not on the Computers because the power won't last that long. Aalso there's the question of the strange weather in this planet, the longer you linger the more chance are of more storms

The skill you can use to examine the rock depends on what you're looking for. There's also a certain cantrip that can help...

a.k.a. 'Odo'

Bah! Cantrips are not the tools of Warriors!

In spite of the erratic weather, Oderon takes the time to seek the area carefully. After all this is their MISSION!

:D

Taking 20 on that Perception.

"They really got hammered" - he comments - "And they zigged, instead of zagging..." - the Vesk adds.

He shares the info with the others.

"Now help me carry these corpses and let's get out of here. You can admire the pretty rock when we are back on the ship"

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Give me the rock man, I want to check it more closely.

I cast “detect affliction” and “detect magic” on the rock

Campaign log

Kesk spells fill the air and his eyes shine with somehing only can see

The stone is magical. You have to make a Mysticism check to identify it

Mysticism DC 17:

The group completes the grueling task of carrying all the bodies to the ship and prepare to leave

Ready to go?

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Guys, let's get going!

Can't remember anything else, out of the top of my mind.

a.k.a. 'Odo'

Yep, good to go.

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Guys, this stone is magical! Give me a sec.

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

Mysticism: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Campaign log

You get to your ship and depart Ulmarid to orbit.

When you're climbing a warning light blares, and the ship lurches. The asteroid field around the world of Ulmarid is more agitated than on the descent down to the surface. Although it’s not clear what has caused the anomalous activity, what’s certain is that you must reach safer altitude before a more serious collision occurs.

Pilot check to maneuver through the field. DC is 20 and the captain can attempt a DC 10 Piloting check or a DC 17 Diplomacy or Intimidate check to add a +2 bonus to the pilot’s check. Additionally, science officers can manage the radars and attempt a DC 15 Computers check to add an additional +2 bonus to the pilot’s check.

a.k.a. 'Odo'

I'm definitely going to change a LOT of stuff in Oderon if we get to level 2 - unless we're shooting a gun, he is useless in a spaceship :P

Campaign log

Don't be so hard on poor Ode, somebody has to shoot the guns

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Guys, something is odd with these asteroids!
Sorry for all the turns, this is good practicing!
Either that or I'm really lucky!

Piloting: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Campaign log

Even with asteroids coming at you from every direction, Navasi manages to navigate the Loreseeker through it undamaged.

As the asteroid field begins do dissipate, you see large vessel of rusted metal slips coming from behind an enormous asteroid, its weapons already firing. The front of the ship resembles a stylized skull with crossed bones beneath—a clear indication of space pirates!

DC 12 Culture Check:

You recongnize the symbol, it represents Besmara, the goddess of piracy, space monsters, and strife.
Besmaran space pirates are a growing threat throughout galactic shipping lanes, and that such pirates throw themselves into combat with a boisterous zeal — it is rare to talk one’s way out of combat with an approaching Besmaran pirate ship.

Prepare for combat! I need to know which clues you've gathered throghout the mission

a.k.a. 'Odo'

RNGod, I think we have:
- clue "Lawblight Data"
- clue “Lawblight Barrage”
- clue 'Lawblight Evasion'

Campaign log

Ok, map is up. Pilot check for init

rolls:

distance: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 5, 5) + 5 = 19
init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

I got this on char sheet: "reduce the DCs of Culture checks by 5 when recalling knowledge about the criminal underworld"
Don't know if this helps on this roll:

Culture Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Pilot Check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Just in case someone is not paying attention ...
I shout to the comms and guess my voice should be heard in most of the ship even without coms.
Space Pirates!!! To battle stations!!!

Campaign log

The battle starts, with both ships maneuvering to the best position

Helm phase, you're first

rolls:

choose!: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Male Shirren Priest Mystic 2 - SP=14/14 HP=18/18 RP 5

I got: "reduce the DCs of Culture and Mysticism checks by 5 when recalling knowledge about religious traditions, religious symbols, and famous religious leaders"
Culture Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

I try to help Navasi on her piloting skills
Piloting: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Odo, we like you the way you are :-)

Male Ysoki Bounty Hunter Mechanic 1 - HP: 10/14, SP 14/14, RP 4/4; Scout HP 10/10

RNGod, I lost the links to the cheatsheets you sent us initially so I looked online and found this one
This has the Engineering phase before Helm. Is that right?

If that's not right, I do my action whenever the Engineering phase comes :)

I divert power to the weapon systems.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

I can't find the link to our ship's stats either but the DC is apparently 10 + 1,5xTier

Acquisitives

female human envoy 1

Guys, these are Besmaran space pirates, they almost never surrender or retreat, we will have to fight our way out!!

Campaign log

You're right, Engineering first. I've updated the links on the campaign descriptor
