String Na'soth's posts together and it sounds like a plan.
The DC for diplomacy with the Chiss starts at 25. 20 for unfriendly and 5 for you being imperial. However, any requests you make can add to the DC further. Any attempt to convince the Chiss to leave this space for any reason adds an instant +15 to the DC but there are other requests you might be able to make to buy yourselves time.

I'll try to figure out a cohesive plan Monday. I actually have a few days off next week to fiddle around with and relax my brain, so I'll see what I can come up with.
Na'Soth Ma'lak
It may be next week before my head is fully back into pbps again. The management for the apartment I'm moving into just threw a kink in the works that complicates an already tiring process to a whole new level.
Na'Soth Ma'lak
I will be out of touch until this weekend due to moving. I apologize for the delay, but hopefully it will be worth it as this should be the last major hurdle I have to deal with for a while.
Na'Soth Ma'lak
I'm back; I still have some details to wrap up, and a challenging work schedule to deal with, but I should be able to get something up some time Tuesday.

Hey, just a check-in to let you know that I have some family visiting for Mother's Day, so I don't have much time to post. I might get some in at school, but I probably won't be able to post from home for a few days. Please bot me as needed! Thanks.

I was thinking; do we want to try and get the Rebel Chiss to guard/mine Malakai - the main sticking point seems to be the Danaten leaders (& their association with the aristocracy). We could arrange for an "accident" to make the Aristocracy think the leaders are dead?
I know this should all be IC, but without typing this on a datapad, subtly & messaging it to everyones private comms - I cannot see a way.

I'm here. Just trying to think of a solution. I think we need to head to the station and see what the dissenters have to say. I have an idea or two, but I don't know if the dissenters would accept it.

Hey, I'm here. Just got back to the forums, actually. I'm sorry for my absence. It was much longer than intended. I really only was going to be away for a few days as family visited. Then the hammer of life came crashing down--AP tests, school work as the year comes to a close, trying to find a summer job... Things piled up. As such, it's been two weeks since I even got on the forum.
I'm trying to figure out where I am as far as PbP goes, now. I've had to drop several games to cut down on what's going on, because the absence made me realize just how busy and overworked I made myself. As for this game, I'm enjoying it, and I'd like to jump back in if you'll have me. Of course, with the new soldier, I may not be needed ;) (No offense or any sort of ulterior commentary meant by that, by the way--I'm just saying that I think things will be fine either way.)

Not much has happened Janitor. We only just got going again so you haven't missed much. I see no reason for Janitor to suddenly disappear.
Here is what happened:
Party met with Aristocracy Member and spokesman. They have a possiblity for an alliance between Mirianna and the Aristocracy but it involves you guys assisting the Aristocracy in defeating the rebels of Danaten Station.
The party did not give a yay or neigh answer to the ambassador and opted to travel to Danaten to scope it out. The party has arrived at Danaten only to encounter a new recruit.
That is where we are now. That is really all you have miss.
For the present, the Aristocracy is only going to secure Malakai until it's other problems are solved. This wasn't mentioned but the remaining Chiss forces at Malakai will clean out the remaining slaver presence and leave the Malaki people alone for the present.
So, I just need for everyone to continue role playing. Janitor, feel free to pipe in whenever you are ready, you haven't held up a thing in your absence.
Darius Lucien
Janitor, I certainly wasn't trying to take your place. :)
GM, have I already enlisted and been assigned to them or I am approaching them asking to re-enlist? If I had the option I would have already done it but I didn't know if there was a place on the station to re-enlist.
Darius Lucien
No problem with the question. It just wasn't clear from the discussions with the GM.
I was intentionally being vague because I wasn't sure what made sense in game. The decision to re-enlist was made on Danaten Station, so if there is no way from him to re-enlist there, then he would not have formally done so. If there was a way, then he he would have.
I appreciate the role playing of the entry of the new guy. I don't expect that you would blindly take in some random guy who walks up and says "I'm here to join you."

Skimming back through the discussion posts, I wasn't clear on how starting bonus languages were handled. Specifically, given the Comprehend/Fluent skills. With my Int mod of +3, do I get 3 bonus languages I can comprehend and speak or do I need to spend 2 to comprehend and speak?
Thanks.

I am finding it hard to find the excitement and energy to post regularly, and that is not fair to you guys. I think at this point, I simply need to take a break from these boards and recharge my mental batteries a bit. I will stick around long enough to resolve the current scene, but once we get this current mess resolved more or less, I will be dropping out of the game. It has been fun playing, and this was not an easy point to reach, but I would rather make it now when I can setup a clean departure than simply disappear at the worst possible time.

Well sunshadow21, it has been a pleasure gaming with you. Personally I'd welcome you back with open arms if/when you think you have the energy to come back.
Your writing has been amazing and helped the group out immensely. I hope that you manage to recharge and find your muse.
Shanosuke
Sad to see you go Shadowsun. I really liked having you around. Na'soth fortunately is easy come easy go kind of character and so we can remove him from the game on the basis that he doesn't want anything to do with galactic politics. But he may return at a later date.
That said, it was a pleasure having you and if you ever want back in we can make it easy.
Now, on to game matter.
The terminology seems to be confusing some of you. This is completely understandable. With the death of the emperor the empire crumbled. There is no longer a galactic government. This means the "rebellion" is no longer rebelling against anything. This means they are now simply referred to at "The Alliance"
"Rebels in this case are groups of radicals standing against their own lawmakers.
In this case, The Danaten Station Rebels Are rebelling against the Chiss Aristocracy.
The Aristocracy wants complete independence for Chiss space. Free from both Empire AND Republic. They want their own government for their own territory. That's it.
Danaten is a group of fascist imperial loyalists who want the imperial rule back. This means they're rebelling against their government. Danaten station is not actually run by good people, in fact, Danaten Rebels embody the ideals of the "evil" empire.

Thus Janitor's readiness to put a bullet in this crazy lady's brain. He worked for the Empire because it was his duty and because he believed in bringing peace and order to the galaxy. Mainly because he was a soldier, and did what he was ordered. He's not exactly a philosopher.

Sorry, when I put Rebels, I did mean the "Danaten Station Rebels" - just wondering how many leaders there are, for if Trooper executes her and we take her back to the Aristocracy - how many others would there be?
Additionally, I didn't realise that Danaten were of the fascistic political scale - but since Nichos dealt with them mostly and Karval failed most of his rolls.
So it looks like acquiescing to the Aristocracies demands may help both the Malakai, get information on Cortel's Lab work & the ordinary people of Danaten. (As well as slowing Taintus' advance)
Although next we'll have to rush to Mirianna's homeworld, or at least call her with news of the alliance ambush!

GM, would we know how much environmental control those systems provide or how much they typically provide?
If he doesn't think we can shut down certain areas or manipulate the levels then he has another plan as well...
Trooper A-337, "Janitor"
I also have a plan, but it relies on a little more knowledge from the GM. Mainly, relative positions of main targets (i.e., Command Center, Hangar, Medical Center, and Reactor) and having some explosives.
EDIT: Environmental Systems is also an important target.
Shanosuke
Sorry for the dely, been out of sorts lately. Planning a big trip this coming weekend and have much to prepare for.
In star wars, the only way you'd "Know" anything is with the appropriate knowledge checks. In the case of the Environmental Systems, you'd need to make a knowledge Tech or engineering check to know how they work or you CAN get away with an insertion of some common sense. You can probably guess by it's title what it does but when you do that, you are only making an educated guess.
