Exactly, though we are uniting the galaxy in peace we have to make alliances as no individual can hope to control it all in anything more than name.

And Shanosuke that is amazing, glad to find that you are having fun. As I know I am. (Unfortunately it'll be the morning UK-time before I'll get a good post up - I do have some ideas {hopefully not stupid ones})

That is just awesome, Shanosuke. I am really getting into this campaign and I am looking forward to see how it develops.

Arana...we all know the empress needs a strong right hand man to carry out the dirty work aka Palpatine/Vader....I am your man, he he.

Nichos, I think spending time to free the Malaki people would be a wise use of our time.

Terminology and Sociology of Malakai and its people. This information is a resource for you to use in game as you see fit.

First off we start with the Planet Known as Malakai.
It was discovered 34 A.B.Y. by the Jedi council. It was discovered when the Jedi were hunting a force fugitive out in the wild space just outside of Chiss space. The fugitive was found and slain by the people of the planet who called themselves the Malaki. The Jedi were troubled by the uncontrolled grasp of the force these people had. A temple was set up to help the Malaki learn to use their gifts.

When order 66 was issued the Jedi of Malakai cut all ties with the government. Only the Jedi council had knowledge of the world and they wanted to keep it away from the Sith.

The Jedi have had a tremendously successful impact on the Malaki and helping them prepare for the inevitable invasion of the empire. It was due to this training that the Malaki have survived this long. They are tough, resilient, persistent and powerful people with unparalleled melee capabilities and possess incredible adaptability while maintaining the traditions that gave birth to their society.

The Terminology derives from the Language of the Malaki.

The Word: Malakai Refers to their homeworld as the plane of challenge. This refers to their day to day struggle against the forces of nature. Malakai was categorized as a hostile world because of the overabundance of super predators. In fact most creatures of this world are more than a match for most military grade technology. The Malaki survive in this world without any form of technology. It has refined them into the powerhouse humans they are today. Only wookies and trandoshans could survive lengthy incursions into this worlds wilds.

The People:Malaki It basically refers to “The Challenged” The people of Malakai feel they are always challenged and tested while on this world and it is their fate to always face and overcome challenges until the end.

Death: Muit The end. It is more commonly known as completion or conclusion. A dead Malaki leaves behind his list of challenges as his legacy. Death is something the Malaki avoid at all cost but not at the expense of risk. The Malaki see the end as closure and your place in the rest lands is determined by ones accomplishments. The fewer one accomplishes, the lower their place in Muit. This causes Malaki to be courageous but not foolish. To the Malaki there is no such thing as a glorious death. To die means you lose any opportunity to rise above in the afterlife. Malaki take on any challenge no matter how great but in a manner that gives them optimal chance of survival. They never go into anything with with a thought of dying at all. It makes them VERY dangerous foes.

With those three points above we have an idea on the main guiding points of the Malaki culture. Lets dive into their society and social standings.

Malaki society is divided into four major divisions within a tribe. In order of prestige, starting with least prestigious we have:
Yirluk: The labor and artisan division – The lowest social division
Maluwan: These are the providers, hunters, and gatherers.
Kadukim: These are the soldiers and military – This division used to be the lowest before Malakai was invaded.
Haruka: Known as the Tradition Division, these are the diplomats, scholars, and historians. The Chieftain is included in this division.

The Haruka is the most important division. As much as the Malaki value physical prowess, they also wisdom and intelligence. The Malaki made an effort to learn galactic basic and learn to use their enemies resources. The Malaki are normally slow to violence and will take most opportunities to learn new things. They are still a primitive culture that still believes in the survival of the fittest.
Within each division there are several rankings.

Yirluk Social status:

Within the Yirluk you have the following:
Yiri: These are the muscle. Lifters, manual laborers. This role is acquired when one fails their hunt or brings back only resources of minimal value. This is the lowest status in society. The next step up would be a foot soldier.
Yirkun: These are the artisans of the Malaki, the builders and craftsman. This is a low class but higher than a farmer, soldier, or laborer. This role is obtained if a good haul of minimal value resources or a even a resource site is found. In addition, if the individual used some form of craftsmanship to complete their task such as building a trap or a harness to drag a good resource haul in.
Yirkai: These are the law enforcers of the Malakai society and they also regulate artisan supplies. If there is a surplus in clothing or building materials, they will direct the artisans and laborers to work on more necessary items. This role is usually determined by one who is creative in bringing back a resource or taking down a beast but lacks military leadership. A simple regulator.

Maluwan Social Status:

Within the Maluwan you have the following:
Maluai: These are the basic farmer and individual capable of gaining food from earth. Since Malakai has such rich soil, it is not difficult to raise crops. Thus this is actually considered a meanial and “safe” job putting its status almost right next to laborer as it requires a bit more education. However, farmer is a common place for those who have failed their trial and the only thing they are good for is picking food from the safety of the tribe. A shameful role among their people. A tribe is considered great if it has no farms. As remarkable as it sounds, the land provides enough food for any tribe tough enough to go get it.

Maluwari: These are the hunters foragers. They are the basic for of hunter. Trapping and hunting docile wildlife or picking berries and other fruits. The Maluwari are often paired with the more powerful Malubada. This is a role for those who bring back a good amount of food resources from berries to wild game equivalent to a deer. A good amount puts them in this role.
Malubada: These are the big game hunters. Their role is to take on and take down larger prey . This can include super predators. These are individuals who have brought back decent sized game or predators. Typically this is a meat resource.
Malukari: This is the lead huntsmen that lead the Malubada and Maluwari out on hunts. They have displayed leadership or clever tactics in taking down a good sized beast. This role is just shy off from high up military roles. They are also responsible for maintaining the food supply.

Kadukim society stauts:

Kadu: A common foot soldier. Usually someone who has at least Killed a Boukon qualifies for this position. Also, those who have not returned with goods but show signs of a viscious fight and surviving it can obtain this position. It is usually this or a hunter. Lately this role holds the same weight as a lower standing hunter only Kadukim has risen in standing as warriors were needed to combat invaders and Darth Vaders.
Kadukoi: Captains. They tend to lead small groups into battle. These are Malaki who have shown great courage on their hunt and have at least returned with a quality trophy.
Kadubaton: The closest to a general you can get. Usually obtained by returning with a REALLY good Trophy or multiple trophies.

Harukai society Status:

This society has the most numerous of roles and many unique qualifications for obtaining them. Not to mention these are all prestigious roles too.
Harudemi: Animal handlers. These are the workers of the beast masters. They take care of the menial tasks such as cleaning and feeding the beasts. An individual qualifies for this if the resource they bring back is an untamed infant or egg or two.
Harukori: The beast riders or battlers. These are more of a soldier than a leader. They usually have a stong bond with a single mount and or pet they use as a partner. A Malaki qualifies for this if they can tame and buddy an animal.
Haruki: The beast masters. These are the general raisers and trainers, and distributors of animals. They have the highest responsibility over animals and a unique connection to them. This applies to Malaki who return with multiple tame beasts and/or a strong connection to the force to accompany them.
Haroni: Storytellers and historians. This role is best suited for those who have explored the ancient places of Malakai and have returned with writings of old and long lost memoirs and stories of old long gone tribes. These indiviudals are highly valued as they help shed light on those who have failed before and tell the story of what has worked and hasn’t. Though this isn’t really a test of strength, the Malaki consider it of great value. Lately the discover and knowledge of good amounts of technology have also become qualifying. It has to be something quite impressive. To Nichos *Hint Hint Nudge Nudge* The Malaki are still very new to technology and anything new or rare is considered a fair prize. This needs to be accompanied by the knowledge to use said tech too. Knowledge can be overridden by bringing rare Jedi artifacts.
Shamans: A new group developed by the Jedi Malaki using galactic basic. These are the force users of the Malaki. They have the strongest connection to the force and are able to see a good deal with their foresight. This role often bypasses the hunt, as the Shamans can detect strong force sensitive individuals pre trails and will train them all the way to Shaman. No hunt needed. Sometimes strong force potential is only revealed during a hunt. Thus whatever the huntee returns with is disregarded and Shaman training begins at once. Even if this costs the huntee the chance to be a Chief.
Malakin: The Exemplar of the Malaki race. This individual is quite frankly the tribe Chieftain. If more than one exists, the Malaki with the best kill is the leader and others can either leave and start their own tribe or become generals or bodyguards.
MalaKadu: Are Generals, basically they are runners up to the Chieftain.
Malakahn: The bodyguards. These are individuals who have fallen just shy of their tribes Chieftain and lack the desire to be a general. They become bodyguards to Chiefs and Generals.

These are the roles in Malaki society. This information is for you to use at your leisure for the rest of your stay on the planet. Even during your hunt. Taggard, archives, and the temple could have given you all this information before your hunt began so this should give you a good idea as to what to hunt for out there.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Thanks for all the info Shanosuke.

You can be her Right hand, so long as you leave her bedchamber for me to secure :P

Lots of analysis paralysis by me. Sorry for the slow post.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I'm going to put this game on hold until after Christmas. I'm having to much trouble with posting right now. Been trying but I either don't have time or have simply been too tired. Hopefully we can pick up RIGHT after Christmas.

Also, still kind of waiting on Janitor to post. I'll send him a PM after Christmas.

Merry and safe christmas to everyone!!! or just Holidays if that's not your thing :)

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Thank you, Shanosuke for the information. I hope it's profitable for you, the amount of busy-ness you are enduring.

And thanks Arana, may I reciprocate. A Merry Christmas to all, and a wonderful New Year.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Hey everyone. Holidays are over and I need a head count.

I have heard from everyone but Janitor. Here's the heads up. I am giving Janitor TWO more days to hear from him. Doesn't have to be a gameplay post just something saying he's still with us. If I don't hear from him in two days I will drop him from the game

For the rest of you, I'd just like to double check to make sure everyone is still good to game. Just let me hear from you. Y'all still with me?

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

Still here.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Good. Doing great at your hunt too Nichos. And you had your doubts.

Hanging loose here, he he.

Me too :)

Not without reason; without lucky and force points, it would have been a very different story. Still, I'm pleasantly surprised at how well he's done, and it's giving a strong case for staying in the scoundrel class to get more access to lucky.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Around here too. Sorry that Karvals' posts have been slightly slower than the rest.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I guess we really are only missing Janitor. I hope he pipes in with something soon. I sent him a PM. I hope everyone is okay with me delaying another day.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Yep, absolutely fine with it. I wonder if Me'eona's around now?

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I have waited too long. I have sent a couple of PMs and have heard nothing. I am going to presume Janitor gone. Sad, he had such a neat backstory. I won't write him off completely. He will simply go missing in this event and if he comes back and wants to rejoin, well, we'll discuss it. In the meantime we need to continue. We still have four players, I have not heard from Me'eona yet. If you want a fifth player, say so and I will reopen recruitment. However, I won't stop the game to wait for a new recruit. There enough going on I could introduce a noob at any time in this story arc.

So I will move us along. If you'd like a fifth member just pipe in. Now back to the trials!

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Hey you guys think you could help me out with something.

I got this game on my smart phone that gives me rewards for inviting new players who put in my referral code when they complete the game's tutorial.

If you have a Ipod, Ipad, tablet, smartphone, etc any device that can use Apps, then look up the game Deity Wars and download it. It's like an online card game similar to magic the gathering. You collect cards and battle other players and participate in events.

It's free to download and play, however, it is slow and to get the good stuff and move faster you have to buy in game content. All I'm asking is that you play through the tutorial, which is free. once you've done that then go to the "Mypage" Screen. On that screen it will have a button for Enter Referral. Click it and put in DIE9324. You then get a free card draw of Rare or higher cards and I get an exclusive invite card. So your helping me get better at the game.

Once you've done all that then you can do what you want with it from there. If you decide you like it and think its fun then yay for you and I look forward to battling with the awesome cards you gave me.

If you decide the game if not to your liking then simply delete it when your done. Make sure if you don't want it to delete it, otherwise you will get daily notifications on your device from it.

Other than all that there is really nothing to lose on your end but a few minutes of your time. Also, I will reward any you guys in this campaign with a little prize as my way of saying thanks for helping me out.

If you can't do it or don't want to I understand, I'm just asking a favor is all. Thanks.

EDIT: I don't know if posting this request on these boards is something I could get in trouble for. It's just a friendly request but if it is a problem please let me know cause I don't wanna be banned for just asking a favor.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Unfortunately, I have none of those brilliant devices. I would love to have helped you though and I'm sure it's fine (as it's non-profit).

Male Chiss Scoundrel 3

I'd say try for a 5th player, especially since you're already going to be needing to incorporate a new character any way at this point, and I don't own any of those devices, so I can't really help much there.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Sorry, about the new player. Well I am happy with 4, if we know of a regular poster then that could be good. But if we add a player only to have them drop it slightly spoils the flow of the narrative.

But if the majority went with 5 PC's then I won't object.

As for Janitor, he disappeared into the wilderness and never came out of it; not that big of a surprise on a world like this.

Exactly, it's perfect and if he did turn up at some point then it works. Although Karval (if he returns) will mourn his countryman/tribesman.

I say the more the merrier here. Go ahead and bring in a newbie, I won't mind he he.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

So sorry, Sunshadow21 - I didn't mean/ think that Nichos would be leaving us. Oh, balls.

He died well enough, and I've already got a replacement set up, so I'm not that concerned. He'll be missed, but such is the way of the dice.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Yep, Karval was 1 roll away from death. At least twice. If I'd have been thinking about it, the force-users might have been better for a hunt.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your new PC.

Na'soth is done, Shanosuke. I added an old, beat up speeder bike to complete the grease monkey image.

That sucks about Nichos. I know what you mean about close to death, especially in that fight with the Rancor. I think the new guy looks pretty interesting though.

@Shanosuke: the last spoiler for Zaelos has no text in it, could you re-post that please?

Yeah too bad about Nichos !!

Both Martian Level 20 invader

@Zaleos: Your assumption was correct. Not sure what the deal is with the spoiler but it was just a bit of fluff to separate you from Taggard and your friends.

Take this opportunity to chat among yourselves. I'll put in a new post later in the day and introduce Sunshadow's new character.

Be prepared for an upcoming battle. This will be your first major mission on Malakai.

Alternatively it would be possible for you to ditch the Malaki and retreat to Danaten station which will result in a mission failure and a good amount of wasted time, resources, and personnel. This is to some degree a time sensitive campaign.

The dice must think that Na'soth is simply Nichos reincarnated the way they are rolling thus far.

male Miraluka Scoundrel 3

Hey all. I've been trying to get to a place that I could jump back in but I don't see it happening. Thanks for the memeories and best of luck with your gaming!

Actually this is a very good place to jump back in. We just needed some indication you were still around and looking to play.

I agree...I believe Me'eona is still back on the Station keeping an eye on our gunboat and waiting for us to contact him.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Actually I have Me'eona looking after the ship at the Jedi temple. You could call him any time you want.

Male Givin Outlaw Tech (Scoundrel 2/Tech Specialist 3) [ Vit: 9/9; WP 14 | AC: 13 T: 11 FF: 13 | F: +3 R: +0 W: +4 | Init: +1 Perc: +2 | FP: 0 | Effects]

I'm trying to give Meona an opening, but I can't do it directly because Na'soth doesn't have the knowledge to do so.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Though it took you guys a few days to travel here, shuttle flight could do it in a few hours. Since you guys arrived on an imperial Shuttle, you could have Me'eona meet you at the coordinates you would exit at and he could pick you and your team up. From their comp use would be needed to modify the shuttles code to allow you to land on the destroyer. DC for the Comp check would be low as you already have the a code.

This is free tactical advice for Zaleos and Karval to use in game.

As they come to the exit upon the landing pad, Karval drops to an easy crouch. "Need anyone to cover you?" he asks Nichos.

Obviously, Karval has been SOOO blinded by Arana's beauty that he has mistaken a Chiss for a Givin, he he.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Thanks for that. *head-desk*

I will remember it...eventually.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Just an FYI, Me'eona doesn't know Nichos is dead

Male Mandolorean Soldier

So do we dive through the door?

  • Hold off enemies/advance whilst Na'Soth opens the door from the other side.
  • Wait whilst Na'Soth opens the door, keeping all the Malakai with us.
    OR
  • Dive and advance quickly - we may be able to open the door from the bridge.

Sorry about putting it here, but I guess we have only seconds to decide IC.

  • Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

I think we can get the best of both worlds by rolling through the door now with who we can take, and leaving Na'Soth and the majority of the Malakai to hack the door. The warriors should be more than competent enough to hold off some enemies while our techie hacks through the lock, and meanwhile we can secure the immediate area ahead of us.

I think Janitor may be onto something here. Even with most of the Imperial troops planetside there should still be enough defenses to wipe us out, should they get organized. I think speed and surprise are our biggest assets right now. Zaelos, not being a soldier, will defer to those more experienced than himself.

    Male Mandolorean Soldier

Yep, that's the best plan I think.

    I agree as well
