Star Wars: Dawn of Defiance

Game Master SoulDragon298

1 to 50 of 107 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | next > last >>

I've been wanting to either play in or run a Star Wars game for awhile, but since I can't find one to play in, I thought I'd run the Dawn of Defiance campaign as it seemed interesting.

Character Creation rules:
-4d6, drop the lowest for ability scores
-No Ewoks, races from other sourcebooks are allowed with permission
-All classes available
-Core Rulebook only, things from other sourcebooks will need permission as aforementioned.
-No dark side characters

This campaign takes place several months into the Dark Times, the period following the Jedi Purge where the Empire is tightening its grip on the galaxy. If you play a Jedi, explain how you escaped Order 66 in your backstory. I will be checking back to see who applies and I will let you guys know when recruitment is over. Good luck and may the Force be with you :).

Bump, since I posted this way too late at night

You forgot to indicate the starting level. As this is during the dark times, may I take this to mean we won't be just 1st level? I feel it makes more sense to be a bit experienced.

Thank you for reminding me. But this is a full campaign that goes from 1st to 20th level.

I totally want in. I am vaguely familiar with the game and don't own a rule book.

If I hadn't already played this whole campaign in person I'd be jumping on this. I played a Corellian Human Scoundrel 1/Jedi 7/Jedi Knight 7/Jedi Master 5 lightsaber specialist, which was a blast. Good luck in your campaign sir.

Downloaded a copy looking to create female Twi'lek scoundrel/noble or Kel Dor scoundrel

str: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 1) = 12

dex: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 2) = 13

con: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 5) = 14

INT: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 1) = 16

WIS: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 3) = 13

CHA: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 6) = 14

STR 11
DEX 11
CON 12
INT 15
WIS 11
CHA 13

Do they have to be in order?

I am interested, however, as I am a fair person, I should tell you that I do have the entire campaign on PDF, though I have not looked at it for some time. I also have all of the Saga edition rule books. If you would prefer, due to my knowledge, that I not participate, I will not roll up a character. If you don't mind, then I will happily roll one up.

Nope you can put your ability scores into whatever abilities you want.

Ok cool. After reading the saga handbook I am working on a female Twi'lek noble, daughter of rich aristocrat, rebellious a bit, seeking independence from family identity, but not necessarily the family money.

Lineage tree

starting wealth: 3d4 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) = 9 x 400

Interested. I'll post character ideas soon.

I'm ready to start PC, but won't allow me to create new alias

GM Gristle wrote:

Hmmm not sure why

Paizo was having an issue with alias creation yesterday - it might still be ongoing.

SoulDragon, were you alright with my applying?

I'm also interested... Totally unsure of what I'd roll just yet. What do the dice say?

4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 2) = 12=11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 5) = 12=11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 2) = 14=12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 2) = 17=15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 3) = 9=8
4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5, 3) = 11=10

15, 12, 11, 11, 10, 8. The dice say, not much.

You haven't read it in awhile you said, so I'm fine with you applying as long as you can separate character and player info.

Easily. I've got a few ideas, but as I'm currently on my phone, I'll roll up once I'm on a computer.

I am interested in this as well. Possibly a female human Jedi sentinel/soldier or Jedi sentinel/scoundrel. As she was in hiding and knows the repercussions of using a lightsaber and/or showing her Force affinity, she tends to NOT use her lightsaber, and uses her force powers only when necessary.

Love Saga edition!

4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 3, 4) = 14 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 6) = 15 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 5) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 3) = 16 15
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 1) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 6) = 19 16

Not bad at all! To the books!

Now for my rolls....

4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 2) = 13 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 5) = 15 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 2) = 11 9
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 1) = 9 8
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 4) = 15 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 5) = 20 16

Ouch.. 2 scores under 10... Think these are the worst scores yet.

Nimble, wise, and pretty. Okay for smarts, not very strong or hardy...

I'll allow rerolls if you wish to do so.

Ok I'm making a Rodian Soldier. A Fringer on the run from the Hutts.

Souldragon is there any information you can give us to help tie our back stories into the campaign?

starting credits: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 3) = 9 x 250= 2250

Kip84 wrote:

[Dice= starting credits] 3d4 x 250= 2250

You'll be starting on Sel Zonn Station, a spaceport floating over the planet of Brentaal. You could also include any reasons that your character might hate the Empire, although alien characters won't need much reason due to the anti-alien sentiment the Empire has.

Oh coolness.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 3) = 13 / 11 - Int
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 4) = 17 / 15 - Dex
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 6) = 16 / 14 - Wis
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 2) = 14 / 13 - Con
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 3) = 16 / 13 - Cha
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 2) = 10 / 9 - Str

I can live with this re-roll.

Starting Credits: 3d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) = 6 x 100 = 600

Em... this sounds fun, but I feel very over my head. Is this open to know-nothings/newbies? I saw the movies...

I'm a newbie to this specific system, so yea it's fine lol. This campaign is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

The Exchange

"SAGA" being the game system? Man, I hope it's fast to pick up. I don't have time for all of these game systems I want to learn.

Okay, time to see how my stats are looking.

Roll 1: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 5) = 14->12
Roll 2: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 1) = 15->14
Roll 3: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 3) = 7->6
Roll 4: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 5) = 14->12
Roll 5: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 2) = 12->10
Roll 6: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 1) = 14->13

Hmmm...if I reroll and do worse, can I keep this set?

EDIT: Saga is very easy to pick up on. It's a WotC product, published between D&D 3.5 and D&D 4E.

Yes, Saga Edition is the system, and if you're familiar with the D20 system, you'll understand most of the rules.

Yes, I'm not making you stick with rerolls if you don't want to.

I'm interested, will have to look over book to see what I want to play.

Question, can we use Force Talents/Feats/Powers from other Saga Edition books, such as the Jedi Academy Training Manual?

Warhawk7 wrote:

As long as you can tell me what page they're on, yes.

I'll put anything like that on my character sheet. Would you be able to understand this format? (JATM p. 27) That is the page for the specific Force Power I am referring to: Inspire.

How about a Togruta (Force Unleashed pg17)? I'm thinking either scout or force user

Okay, rerolling:

Roll 1: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 1) = 13->12
Roll 2: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 2) = 15->13
Roll 3: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 2) = 13->10
Roll 4: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 1) = 9->8
Roll 5: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 4) = 17->15
Roll 6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 1) = 15->14

These are workable.

I'm making a Human Scoundrel. He's an ex-pirate and a bit of a rogue. I should have him finished for tomorrow.

EDIT: Starting Wealth Roll

Starting Wealth: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 4, 2) = 8 x 250 = 2,000

Warhawk7 wrote:

That'll work fine

Reckless wrote:

I love Togrutas, so yea they're fine

Wish create new alias was working...

Just need to do a couple of Licence rolls for guns...

Blaster pistol sporting Dc 10 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Blaster Carbine Dc 15 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Retry for the blaster pistol 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Sporting Blaster Pistol License DC 10 (Deception due to False Identity): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Character's name is Cora Tershin. She's a Jedi from Alderaan (alias profile has explanation). Tershin is her false last name.

And here she is.

The Exchange

334 pages... it's going to take me at least an hour to read this.

How heavily are you going to be enforcing weapon licensing and availability for starting equipment?

Phntm888 wrote:

I haven't read the whole campaign yet but there may be security checks at some parts so do license checks just in case.

The Exchange

"Order 66" eh? Sounds rough. Some kind of imperial execution order for Jedi? Is that how it went out of style?

4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 1) = 19 = 18
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 1) = 10 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 1) = 11 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 5) = 18 = 17
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1, 6) = 17 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 1) = 17 = 16

4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 5) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 4) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 5) = 17 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 5) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 5) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 6) = 18 15

Lets see what the dice gods sayeth.

Not horrible.

Yea, I haven't had any issues creating aliases this weekend at all.
