Cora was born on Alderaan to a minor noble family. At a young age, it was discovered that she had some sensitivity to the Force and was subsequently sent to the Jedi Praxeum located on the planet. She learned many skills there such as lightsaber combat and survival. Her wit and sarcasm often landed her in trouble and she was nearly expelled from her training. She convinced her instructors not to expel her from the Order through her skilled demonstrations of the Force, not to mention her skills at persuasion, and was allowed to complete her Initiate Trials and become a Jedi Apprentice (she despises the term Padawan).
Cora remained on Alderaan during the Clone Wars, deciding to help out the local communities with whatever aid they required. When the Galactic Republic transformed into the Galactic Empire, Cora and her Master discussed their possible fates when news spread of the new Emperor’s Order 66. Due to her Master’s actions, Cora was one of the few students to survive and escape the Alderaanian Jedi Praxeum when the Galactic Empire arrived to terminate it.
Feeling it was best for her to remain unnoticed; she discarded her Jedi robes and donned more appropriate clothing for a woman her age, partially dyed her hair, and used the rest of her money to purchase a blaster pistol and a one-way ticket off world. She hopped from spaceport to spaceport until her money ran out as she arrived on Sel Zonn Station, a spaceport floating over the planet of Brentaal.
