Kres shook his head at the sword Nope. That's as big as I am. Plus, I've never been good with a blade. Thanks though. And I agree, let's be sure sure to hurry, Hassan's right-we need to save the lady as quickly as p-possible!

And with that, he followed the rest of them as they made their way into the woods, things getting colder by the minute

Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 5 = 13

Things were chilly-thankfully he had his warmewr clothes, but he wasn't sure if they'd be enough to keep him from getting too cold-seemed there was a downside to snow as well!

Feeling the bite of the cold wind, Hassan wraps his thin cloak, meant for the sun-drenched plains of Qadira, not this wintry hell, tighter around himself as his teeth start to chatter. Knowing there are those who must pay ahead, Hassas plows on through the snow.

Arrac seems to not be bothered by the cold in fact, he looks more at home in the snow and frost than he did in town. Arrac moves closer to the chest and unslings his shield, keeping it ready.

Smells like a possible trap. If it is, we know we are on the right path. Want to spring it?

Newmark spits in disdain, and begrudgingly stomps up to Krestimbut, You'd thinks someone so enamored with snow and ice would be prepared for it! Newmark takes out an ornately engraved wand and starts to motion with it...performing a dance of arcane gestures. Hold still! Or, I'll not be able to pull the spell from me book into me mind...grrr.. With a flourish and an arcane word of power...Newmark uses his bonded wand. to recall endure elements from his spellbook. That will do ye till this time tomorrow...I'm no healer so I can't help you with any damage you already did to yerself...I suggest ...when we get back to Heldren, you use some of those funds we found to get yourself some cold weather gear....or your likely to freeze to death...cause I can't be pullin' your bacon out of the fire every time! ...you savvy little gnome? Newmark smirks a self satisfied smile.

Guys what we doing with the chest? Move on?...try to spring the trap without anyone getting hurt? Or try to disarm the trap? If no one pipes in I'll move us along.

technically this requires a disarm check like any other..but, I think "just setting it off" without hurting anyone ..is a lot safer than trying to disarm it somehow...So I'll let you roll a survival check DC:10 you may add your dex mod to your survival check as well...

yeah, "just setting the trap off" was the goal. Basically Arrac is trying to activate it from as far away as possible

Arrac cuts the rope leading to the heavy spiked log wedged in the tree..it swings down harmlessly missing the top of the chest by inches..Had anybody been standing near that chest when the trap had been sprung...it might have killed them. After cutting the log down a couple of you gather around the chest...What next?

The snow becomes increasingly deep in this part of the forest, where a windswept gully carves a path through a tree-covered ridge. As the wyrm drops on Hassan, biting him in the shoulder painfully. His life blood flowing, the inquisitor calls on the judgement of Sarenrae to provide sacred healing to him as he struggles with the wyrm.

He fumbles for a dagger from his belt and tries to stab the wyrm while grappled but the serpentine coils keep him from getting the right angle for an effective attack.

The wyrm is suffering the grappled condition as well, or does it not count as being grappled with that bite attack grapple? Also, Hassam still counts for flanking purposes right? Moving to flank, pretty sure I have just enough movement to get there without provoking an AoO, even with the snow.

Arrac drops his shield and lets out a Ulfen battlecry before charging off through the snow to cut off the creatures escape and slashes at the wyrm.

As Lanfried pulls out an arrow from a hanging crow...it dawns on him, Sprites! And not the good kind! Winter touched! the diminutive little monsters were evil fey mostly ..vulnerable to fire, but immune to cold, the creature also posses a numbing cold attack that could stagger victims, combined with its aversion to normal weapons (DR 2 cold iron) As Lanfried turns to warn the others 3 tiny arrows sail towards Hassan, Newmark, and Krestimbunt. shortbow at Hassan: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 = 13dmg: 1d2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 - 2 = 1shortbow at Newmark: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23dmg: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0shortbow at Krestimbunt: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 1 = 16dmg: 1d2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 - 2 = 0 All three arrows strike home pricking each of their targets each feels a super numbing sensation. ( Krestimbunt must make a DC:11 fort save or be staggered for one round | also Newmark and Kres takes 1 hp dmg.)
Before anyone can react...the 3rd sprite (blue) fires another arrow.shortbow at Krestimbunt: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 = 13dmg: 1d2 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 - 2 = 0 (Krestimbunt needs to make another DC: 11 fort save that's 2...he also takes another 1hp dmg)
fort save Newmark: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18

Krestimbunt staggers around a bit at the numbing cold effect of the freezing arrows the little fey have hit him with on their arrows.

Staggered:
A staggered creature may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can he take full-round actions). A staggered creature can still take free, swift, and immediate actions. A creature with nonlethal damage exactly equal to its current hit points gains the staggered condition.

Up-shot...Krestimbunt may take only 1 action this round (R 1). Krestimbunt still your turn

Krestimbunt yelped as he was stuck with tiny cold arrows, looking around wildly as he tried to decide what to do about them.

Deciding the blue was the easiest to deal with, he again called forth a blast of water aimed at the tiny creature

Splash!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

The needle-like arrow stings Hassan for a quick scratch, and while the shot fills him with numbing cold, he fights through the feeling.

Just waiting until my turn is up. How did the attack at 13 (above)
hit Hassan? His FF AC is still 16. Was it a touch attack?

DC 11 Fort: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Answer:it didn't hit...writing error on my part..

Krestimbunt take's aim with his water jet magic and just barely misses the nimble blue sprite. The Red sprite decides to take another shot at Newmark shortbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27dmg: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 hitting Newmark again with the painful barb Fort: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4 and causing the Dwarf to shiver spasmodically from the cold slowing him down as well. (Newmark is staggered) . Newmark responds by casting mage armor upon himself.

Hearing the tiny missile clink off his armor, Hassan draws out his longbow, and fires at the nearest foe (green), but his large arrow is likely too clumsy to pick off one of the nimble fairies.

Longbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Move action to draw longbow, Standard to fire. Likely a miss against these small fliers.

Hassan's shot misses. In reply, a sprite he hadn't notice before(grren) fires at him shortbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15dmg: 1d2 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1(miss), it then attempts to blend back in to the tree it was hiding in stealth: 1d20 + 20 - 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 - 20 = 20 (Lanfried still see's the green sprite...everyone else must make a DC:20 perception check to notice the green sprite...all other sprites are visible to all characters.)
