I'll pick it up once at least one more person checks in...

OK - I'm back...let's see where we go from here.

I'll understand if people are a little slow to begin with - I have been gone for some time.

And thanks for your patience :)

Just to say I've had a close bereavement in the family. As you might expect, my focus is not on the game. As it may be a few weeks before I'm in a position to move forward, I must pause things until the New Year. Expect to see me back something like Monday 5th January when I plan to also return to work. Sorry for the situation but as I always say to others, RL comes first. But rest assured, I will be back.

"I..err..came to my senses. I have been too long on this island without company. Your presence allowed me to reflect and sharpen my wits. I re-read my journal and in doing so, I was able to re-connect to the man I was when I arrived here."

"I can do nothing for the clothes." He pulls at the tatty and dirty cloth of his tunic, "But my hair and face were within my grasp." He now runs his fingers through his hair and rubs his now hairless chin. "I hope I didn't alarm you."

Horatio attempts to hit the barghest but is some way from landing a blow with his rapier.

Merwyn casts a spell - but it's too early to tell if it's had an effect.

And then Breaca delivers an almighty blow. But she sacrifices accuracy for power and although it might have decapitated the beast, in fact it just made a wonderful swooshing noise as it cut through the air.

I can go with 75gp

As you exit the 'city', you are drawn to the indentation on the front gates - a perfect match for the amulet now in your possession. Perhaps inserting it will lock the gates?

As you ponder this, a clean shaven man steps out of the shadows to greet you. His hair is immaculate and he looks quite handsome. It is only the clothes that tell you who it is - Dusan.

"Congratulations comrades." His voice seems cheery. "A few of the cultists high-tailed it out of here earlier, but as you had no doubt let them go, I decided not to intervene. I trust it went well?"

Miro is nimble but despite the size of the creature he is unable to land a blow that hurts it.

New round

The monster swings at Veryl again and this time its claws connect with the fighter's legs. Leaving a tell-tale mark where they had been, it seems to have taken a dislike to the man.

Veryl takes 10hp of damage

OK - everyone else to go now

Let's keep going... :)

Breaca and Veryl smite the creature with mighty blows. This time you can see that it's affected by them - the double strike clearky knocking the wind out of its sails.

Horatio's spell was very eefective. Due to the creature's large size, the crystalline shards avoid his allies and only hit the creature, studding it's chest.

Give Miro the rest of the day to roll, or I'll move on...

Totally made up price = 100gp. This would both look good and afford the benefits that a banner would when you reach the requisite level.

Horatio casts a spell and before you know it, the creature is lashing out again. Once more Veryl gets the brunt of its attack - claws raking down his back.

Veryl takes 10hp of damage - over to everyone else

Congratulations from me too :)

You are currently in D12 - there is a narrow passageway to a room you haven't entered - D13

Just as the pseudodragon suggested, there is quite literally nothing of note in here.

All of these are fine by me. Are we waiting for anyone?

And OOC, can I have one of those potions please, I think my GM persona could do with one right now ;)

I'll move to the next round later today...

Majenko responds instantly to Eltanin's request. Rushing ahead, once he's ahead you all hear in your head, 'It appears to be a bedroom. A big bed, a desk and a mirror. Nobody here and nothing of interest.'

You make good progress - the amulet you carry seems to act as some sort of key. None of the creatures attack you and before long you're back at the entrance hall, open doors back to the outside world in front of you.

Nothing sinister, I just didn't want to bot you out of the city altogether

Feel free to assume you're all flanking

Both Miro and Kalig swing and miss - for such a large creature it seems difficult to hit.

Merwyn and Horatio up...

Veryl swings with a mighty blow but it only catches thin air. Breaca on the other hand, flanking, is able to deliver a solid hit that ought to have shaken the creature but it seems to have shrugged it off - although she knows it will have hurt it.

The British committed many atrocities in the name of the Empire - especially in places like Africa in the 20th century.

We are pleased that Americans speak at least a variation of English (LOL) but don't always appreciate the Americanising of British customs. e.g. when I was young, we celebrated Guy Fawkes on Bonfire Night (5th November). We hadn't even heard of Hallowe'en and trick or treating? No, it was 'penny for the Guy.' (You'll have to Google that one!)

Despite a few hiccups, you all get across safely. Now, do you head straight for the exit, or do you decide to explore?

You think you have a couple of hours to spare before the city floods with gold.

The creature shifts position and now lashes at Veryl, the claws connecting with his shoulder.

Veryl takes 9hp of damage
Everyone else is up

And Black Friday has made it's way to the UK. No context whatsoever - but many of the TV adverts have been using the concept - and for some it's a week-long event.

But hey - it's better than an American wishing me a happy 4th July. I suspect the history may be lost on them ;)

Not being American, Thanksgiving goes over my head (albeit it was the English that first celebrated it!).

But I understand the significance and hope everyone had/is having a good time.

Understood...not being American, this one goes over my head (albeit it was the English that first celebrated it!).

The dark naga reflects on your words. Reluctantly it sems, it says, "Yes, you have lived up to your side of the bargain - you may proceed."

The good news is that none of the young man's body parts appear to have been used for this creation.

And logic suggests Roran's idea is sound.

I think the cost of really expensive clothing is up to you. Just like real life - the cost can vary by 1000%

You move forward - almost literally prying Eltanin's fingers from the door-frame as you exit.

Ahead the nauseating mixture of decay and strange chemicals fills your nostrils as you enter the room. Glinting saws, pliers, long stitching needles and other surgical equipment lines the walls. On top of a sturdy wooden table in the centre of the room lies a humanoid shape - stitched together from a patchwork of dozens of different bodies. If it were standing, you'd estimate it would be seven feet tall.

The dark naga waits until you have spoken and then cocks its head to one side. "And my payment?"

I think I understand what you're all doing, so...

You exit the central chambers - knowing time is against you before the city floods with gold.

Once you reach the dark naga, it looks at you - expectantly.

Further perusal reveals nothing of what you are looking for specifically but there a couple of books specifically about diseases that are of interest.

With these as a reference guide, you gain a +2 on any checks to diagnose or treat any disease

Callie is able to piece the following information:

A flesh golem is a collection of stolen humanoid body parts, stitched together into a single composite form. Its cadaverous flesh has a sickly green or yellowish tint. A flesh golem typically stands 8 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds.

A flesh golem cannot speak, although it can emit a hoarse roar of sorts. Although most flesh golems are mindless, there are persistent rumors of unusual golems who somehow retain the memories of a previous life.

The pieces of a flesh golem must come from normal humanoid corpses that have not decayed significantly. Assembly requires a minimum of six different bodies — one for each limb, the torso (including head), and the brain. In some cases, more bodies may be necessary.

Callie therefore deduces that it is quite possible the corpse has already been used - but only if the necromancer worked immediately on it. It is more likely it is waiting to be worked upon. The age of the corpse suggests it will still be in 'good condition' if found untampered with.

You reach a room with two, free-standing bookshelves - filled with row upon row of tomes and scrolls.

Eltanin scans the contents. Most are concerned with the art of creating golems, with some on necromancy.

The ones she finds of use are a scroll of identify and a scroll of command undead.

Del - that works for me.

When you're all spent up, let me know and you can move to the next stage. If you want to RP the purchases, just post in the game thread. Posting from my phone is hampering my muse, but I shall overcome!

Iramine is - quite literally - trussed. You now have three captives.

Horatio casts his spell and although you see grease rise up from beneath the creature's feet, it appears to be able to keep its footing.

I'll give Miro a few more hours and then post the next round

The pseudogragon travels through the narrow tunnel and exits (D10). 'Just books,' you all hear in your head. 'Some sort of library.'

The director assumes you will use your theatrical flair to purchase whatever you see fit for your characters. If you can't spend it, keep it.

Kalig's effort was very sensible - and very wide of the mark (despite the size of the creature).

Nothing discernible...
