Signing up. I'm hoping to play a brawler. I have a brawler 3 at the moment, but am creating some at levels 4, 7, 10, and 13. I don't have any of those electronic character sheet generators and am not sure if any can handle the new classes anyway. How do you want us to attach characters?

I could just post a character here though, using some minimal board formatting. My PC is present 15 point buy, but are we looking for 20 here?


Yeah, 20 point buy is the baseline.I would appreciate players making an alias for their character and putting their character sheet in there.

Formatting is not so important as long as it is readable and complete.

I'm taking Williamoak's brawler 13 out for a spin after messing with it for a bit to make it how I want. Will post it here with alias when finished.

I'll set up a Slayer...or any other class if preferred...I also like the Shaman quite a lot.


You can play both if you want I planned to do levels 4,7,10 and 13.

We have 5 people interested now once I get character sheets from everybody we can start.

Annoying issue: Brawlers don't gain Weapon Specialization at 4th-level because they don't gain a feat at that level. They gain a regular and bonus feat at next level.

You're starting with 4th levels, right?


Yes that was the plan but as it looks right now I will start whenever I have 4 charcters of the same level.

If thats 4th level..good, if its 13th also good. There are 2 other players from the recruitment thread comming in as well.

I'd prefer jumping into the higher levels myself asap. I already have two playtests going in the 3-5 range. I'd prefer to spread myself into a bigger one.

Ok...well, I'm pretty much built to 4th...but preparing 7th, 10th, and 13th all at once. A little more to do for 4th, but I'll set up the alias.

I never quite understood how most of the double-weapons might work in the real world...but I want to see one work in fantasy...thus, he's a slayer that wields a dire flail.

Want me to bump him up to 13th?

You can but keep your 4th level sheet, we almost have a full group at 4th.

Favorite martial maneuvers: Catch Off-Guard, Scorpion Style, Step Up, Throw Anything, and of course Weapon Specialization

Martial Maneuvers (Ex): At 1st level, a brawler can spend a move action to gain the benefit of a combat feat she doesn’t possess for 1 minute. The combat feat must be one that affects or improves her defenses (such as Dodge or Toughness), melee attacks (such as Blind-Fight or Power
Attack), or performing or resisting combat maneuvers (such as Agile Maneuvers or Improved Trip). The brawler must otherwise meet all the feat’s prerequisites. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to half her brawler level (minimum 1).

If this ability is triggered before the duration expires, the brawler loses the previous combat feat and gains a new one in its place.

If a combat feat has a daily use limitation (such as Stunning Fist), any uses of that combat feat while using this ability count toward that feat’s daily limit.


Would be good to have a caster for the 4th level group.

Are there any good healers in the playtest other than the wrathpriest? (I'm just not fond of that class.)

@Brawler the shaman with a life or battle (or hell, both even) spirit is a better healer and warpriest than the warpreist :P

Their spell list was changed to the druid's. Are battle shamans still such good healers?


They still have the heal spells.


They still get cure spells at the same rate as clerics would so probably palatable as healers,with maximize on all cure spells.

A wand of CLW would do the trick also I guess just thinking a caster would be usefull as everyone is melee right now.

I think we will start tomorrow I'm still preparing some maps.We still need a 4th guy.Somebody might jump in but if not we could either let one player have two characters or start with a three man party.


Also they still techniquely use the cleric list. they didn't even update the shaman page to say they use druid spells yet. I think they are respecing the class to make it work with druid spells first.


So are you guys ready to start?Do you prefer a 3 man party or does one player want 2 characters?

Some things about the characters:

We are using PFS method for hitpoint generation so...

Jake the Brawler has 36 hp 10+18+8

Delsir has 36 but I don't see his favoured class bonus anywhere so he could have 40 as well.

Van Olaf :your point buy is off.Looks like you used 25 points.Also you used Barbarian Hitdice, Bloodragers use d10s.

Do you two want to double up with your characters? I can build you something if you are unsure about some of the classes.

Also as we dont really have any sort of skill types or anything I think we should just run some encounters, and see how the builds are doing.

I could run two PCs, but I doubt I could build anything but a brawler. Sad that we're low on skills. I suppose an NPC could supply some of those.

We could do combat only too, I don't mind.

We don't have a "heavy" arcane caster, so assuming we get our slayer (skills type) we could use one. I presume a battle shaman can fill the tank role, sort of.
