I won't be available tomorrow though. on a trip

Sorry, im a little more used to the slower PbPs. We might not have time to playest now D:

im grand lodge

im almost ready. just gonna change around the equipment and spells.

edit: now im ready

dont forget my warpreist

paladins are still better defensively with saves and offensively with smite and bo.ded weapon, clerics are better spellcasters, and inguisitors are not only less MAD, but they also have more versitile buffing and more skills.

So can you make a cayden cailean warpreist while i finish up my finals?

I havent either. Can you come up with a cayden cailean warpreist while i finish up my finals?

id like to play with a warpreist

I see no issues with the shift to Druid Spell list. The bonus spells based on Spirit and the extra spells to the list on Page 37 more than fix any issues of selection.

Do please fix any Spirit blessing that use non-primary caster stats for bonuses. Avoid MAD at all costs.

Looking nice though.

I agree. by the looks of the extra spells it doesn't seem like my play style will change from the previous shaman thankfully :)

I do think the devs should say that this is pretty much a druid/oracle hybrid now.

Overall I like the revisions, especially sacred weapon damage. I could see my players having fun with it.

I don't like that the warpriest gets his level as his BAB for his sacred weapon, however. It seems like the devs are creating a "Paladin for any alignment" class, and that doesn't sit right with me. They already get 6th level spells, why give them full BAB as well? I'm probably biased, as 3/4 of my characters are paladins, but that's beside the point. It just looks like the warpriest will become the new Paladin since they can be CG or CN or LN or some other some other easier alignment.

Whats a paladin?

but seriously I wouldn't worry, paladins still have smite evil over the warpreist, and they are less MAD.

Now this is the WARpreist I wanted to see. Cant wait to play this class.

id like to try an arcanist in a high level campaign

Shamans didn't actually lose cleric spells, they are just considering a druid list. And my char was hiding my familiar away.

Shaman is pretty balanced and I would like to keep it mostly the way it is, especially the spell list. The druid list doesn't exactly fit my fighting style but if they make a custom list that works then i would be all right with it.

Bloodrager is pretty much balanced against the regular barbarian except for a few bloodlines. It also reminded me of the rage prophet PrC and i would love it if paizo did an oracle/barbarian hybrid like that.

Well actually im sick so no :T

Who has a caps lock and has had his University snowed in. THIS GUY!!!

Looks like Jake knows how to reach cleric. Nice job.

Ah, i see...

heres a crazy thought, what if jake plays all five chars while im at work? that way we can keep the playtest going.

I thought bludgeoning weapons would work. Was I mistaken?

I see im still rolling like a god.

(sorry for double post)

I playtested a Shaman with a cleric list. It played like a cleric but more spirit-y. I loved it :D

Im thinking ill take the bill gates route an explore opportunities outside of univeristy xD (translation: id rather drop out than flunk out, although thats somewhat debatable at this point)

im back

I don't think ill pass :T

Olaf goes to I-12 and attacks the statue in front of him

attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10

So its about time for my exam. Maybe sleet could npc bot my chars?

i meant where are the nearest enemies?

anything near my chars?

I for got I have an exam. itll be finished around 10:00 but i still have time for some playing now.

According to Jasons interview on Know Direction this evening, he isn't really sold on the idea of using the druid list. He isn't sure they want to make a new list, but whatever they decide will be in the new playtest document (late this week, or early next week)

Could you provide a link so I can see what else jason talked about?

also "phew" im glad to hear that xD

im available 8 am central

Yeah mornings are free

What if the class had access to both the cleric and the druid lists, but he only started with a limited number of spells known by his familiar like the witch familiar class feature?

Yep. I allready suggested both list, se above.

Best way of balance it is nerfing BAB and armor. Possibly make it a spontaneous caster so it can’t have all spells ready to go. Also I would remove summon monster and only let it have summon natures alley.

As someone who played a battle shaman, that wouldn't sit well with me personally :T but I can see that happening.

Also I wasn't saying he would be a spontanous castor. I was thinking more along the lines of the wizard/witch/magus whom are prepared castors but don't have every single spell available to them.

Well I still had fun and got at least a little bit of useful info from the playtest. Thx for GMing :D

well with our schedules, me and jake would only be around for 2 hours. If Eldon will only be gone for a day, then maybe postponing and continuing with just Eldon and Jake would be best.

my work schedule is 12:25-2:25 on minday, wednesday, and friday and 12:45-2:45 Tues and Thurs day Central time.

Im willing to bow out and hand Shiro over to jake while you recruit someone else

id feel a little more comfortable botting jakes chars though

thats okay

just know that for the shaman i like to cast spells during my turn and position myself for AOOs. And dont be afraid to tumble away from monsters to get into position.

Im fine with npc-botting my chars. i wont let my schedule get im the way of DELICIOUS SCIENCE!!!

im going to be at work until 3, sorry guys

I for one am not looking for a "spontaneous Druid"...in fact that would more or less make me loose complete interest in the class.

I do however think that a spontaneous casting mechanic would work well for the Shaman.
It would be interesting for him to have spell slots per day based on level....but no spells known of his own.

He would gain "spell known" from the spirits bonded to him.
All the customization anyone could want would be built right into which spirits where chosen....

Want more of a new age "animal totem" feel...pick the nature spirit.
Want to focus on healing, pick the life spirit.
Want to deal with that pesky wraith that's been troubling your clan folk, ask the spirits of your ancestors for a hand.

For this to work the number of spirits a shaman could bond with each day would need to be increased, probably to around 5 by 20th level...but again that fit's the definition of what a shaman is.

I would rather do away with the fixed spirit at first level, and see an increase in how many spirits he can call to his aid on any given day increase as he gains levels.

This actually sounds really awesome. If they were reluctant to build an individual spell list before, I don't know how much this idea will go over, but it sounds very cool.

If I were to rate my personal preference of the lists being discussed in this thread it would look something like this:

spirit-dependent custom>custom>cleric>witch>druid.........unless the witch casting swapped it from WIS to INT casting, then I would move it ahead of the cleric list.

I'm with people on the witch list. As it stands it has the most appropriate spells, is one of the composite classes, and could just have some of the options added in. As it stands spells like haunting mists and mad hallucinations fit much better to a spirit caller then flame blade or good berry. After that all that would be needed is to just add some of the extra spells in that it's missing like animate dead and the protection spells which even exist in a lot of the patron options and could just be either ported over into the list proper or wrapped up in the spirits you choose.

The other thing is that using the witch list would help tie the shaman back into its 2 parent classes since as it stands right now the shaman is basically related to the witch in name only and has more in common with a cleric/oracle & druid.

Witch spell sounds good.

bloodrager is getting his own list lass

edit ninja'd XD

thewhiteone wrote:

While the Druid list does indeed have some nice Shamanistic flavor... this class is a Oracle/Witch. Not a Oracle/Druid. Not a Druid/Witch. Not a Oracle/Druid/Witch.

Its a bloody Oracle/Witch. As such, the only spell lists that should be looked at are the Cleric list, the Witch list, or a hybrid of the two. Keep the Druid out of it.

Ah I see I wondered why your attack modifier is 9 but you have a +1 sword. Still to high, 16 strenght+ 4BAB +1 =8 Damage would be +15.

ah, fixed in the profile.
