Vakarla's loot.
Potion of cure moderate wounds,
Scroll of knock,
Scroll of water breathing,
Wand of shield (20 charges) What? Why wasn't this listed in her readied spells?
Other Gear:
masterwork falchion,
masterwork light crossbow with 10 bolts,
Cloak of resistance +2,
Rope of climbing,
Bicorne hat,
Periscope,
Watertight engraved bronze scroll case (worth 75 gp),
Spell component pouch,
Spyglass
Spellbook.
All Cantrips.
1st: Burning hands, color spray, grease, mage armor, magic missile, ray of enfeeblement.
2nd False life, fog cloud, invisibility, knock, mirror image, rope trick, scorching ray.
3rd Haste, invisibility sphere, major image, stinking cloud, vampiric touch, Water breathing.
4th Fear, hallucinatory terrain, phantasmal killer, wall of fire.
5th Mirage arcana, overland flight, Wall of force.
She was actually the first real spellcaster you've taken.

Marnir Saltvig |

Losing Markizio to that would have sucked enormously. He did a lot to limit Vakarla's spellcasting.
Other than the rope of climbing I've got no desire for any of her gear.

GM_DBH |

Yup, not much in the way of loot for these guys, and they weren't much of a threat, unless you sailed into the reef blindly. Then you had Vakarla flying over invisibly to drop a Phantasmal killer on the captain, while the wreckers boarded your ship. Plus your crew would be carrying injuries from the crash.
So, if it worked, then profit! If not then crap!

Marnir Saltvig |

It could easily have gone wrong on many levels. I suspect it's a pretty tough encounter if things don't go our way.

Markizio Voralius |

Considering you made the save to disbelieve exactly, it could have gone very badly. And then Markizio made his save to not die instantly by 1. :)
Yes, that was the highlight of this encounter.
I do hope to continue playing with another PC if Markizio is ever killed but I like the flamboyant magus. :)
BTW GM, I'd like to transfer some of those spells to my own spellbook. How do you want to handle this?
Nobody wants the cloak +2?

If it's on your spell list then it's yours.

Hi all, I'm back. Thanks for any botting you may have done; the return from vacation was a bit hectic and it's been hard to get online the past couple of days. I'm heading over to Gameplay now, and will post there if appropriate. Thanks again for your patience!

Checking up on the game now and will post soon.

My normal quality of posts will resume in about a week. My Kickstarter is within its last two days. Currently at 113% so it's funded and I'm trying to get all the logistics ready. Major pain in the booty.

The only loot that Kung is interested in would be the Ring of Protection; AC never hurt no barbarian, that's for sure! (It'd be easy to talk me out of that too, though; Kung's been pretty sturdy so far.)
Looking forward to leveling Kung up tonight!
hit points: 1d12 ⇒ 8

Niobe Aptos |

Kung's kinda expected to take the brunt of our vanguard, so more AC is always good for him! Markizio can, if the situation requires, fall back and use some spells from range. Marnir's buffs don't necessarily require him to be taking hits from the enemy, I believe. But Kung has to get up close and personal.

It's that time again! I just can't stop taking vacations, so sorry. :)
I'm going to be hitting the road Thursday afternoon, not returning until Sunday evening. This is a camping trip; if I have internet access while I'm gone, it will only be through my phone. I'll give it a shot, but I don't have high hopes; posts will be very brief if they happen.
Please bot me if I'm holding anything up!

Hi all, I am back. I'm just checking into Discussion on all of my games at the moment; I will circle back around and catch up in Gameplay before the end of the day today.
Thanks for your patience!

Kungrusdak Nosvunkuk |

Kung claimed a Helm of Underwater Action here, but I never added it to his sheet. Just confirming that Kung got that before he uses it in game.
If so, he won't need to wait for Marnir's Water Breathing, and can dive in immediately.

Marnir Saltvig |

I seem to remember that going to you, Kung. In which case Jane and I can enjoy 8 hours each of water breathing.

Marnir Saltvig |

Didn’t spot that Niobe.
I only used it as it’s better than using one of my emergency potions. Also, it’s the first time I’ve used spell kenning, so it was nice to be able to pull an unexpected spell out just when it was needed!

Louisiana Jane |

Yeah, being a class that has to prep spells... is a pain... This is the first time I've had a naturally flying character.

Louisiana Jane |

Guys, Just a heads up warning. I am not going to be at my computer from October 11th through the 18th.

Louisiana Jane |

Slight Retcon of my last round. Jane will cast "Touch of the Sea" giving her a 30' swim speed. Neither of her spells grants her the ability to breathe underwater. Do we have an extra item that does it for next time?

Louisiana Jane |

Am I missing something? Are the squares 15~20 feet each?

Kungrusdak Nosvunkuk |

Sorry for the unexpected absence, and thanks for the bot. A little upheaval in my personal life here, but getting back into things. Thanks for your patience!

GM_DBH |

Ormandar, the Merman Druid.
Bracers of armor + 2
Trident + 2
An image of him and his very pretty trident - Ormandar
Ormandar’s lair lies in a small, rocky grotto north of the wreck. The grotto is filled with a large number of bones and other remains, mostly fish and marine animals, but also the carcasses of over a dozen humanoids.
Mixed in with these bones is his meager horde.
Lair loot
Masterwork longspear carved from whalebone and a swordfish jaw,
Crafted coral jewelry and ornaments worth 120 gp,
Polished decorative shells worth 75 gp,
And a disintegrating pouch containing 95 gp in strange hexagonal coins.

Marnir Saltvig |

He is a creepy looking dude!

Markizio Voralius |

I don't want to use it all the time but maybe we should keep that trident +2 as shared loot for someone to use while fighting underwater.
I have the feeling that this won't be last underwater fight we'll have.

Kungrusdak Nosvunkuk |

Kung likes the +1 keen spear he's using, so the trident isn't for him, but we should keep it, I agree.

Marnir Saltvig |

I agree, it's a good weapon for someone to carry as an underwater back-up - particularly if your primary is a slashing weapon like mine and Markizio's.
I'm happy with my coral trident, so maybe Markizio should carry it as his underwater shark-sticker.
