Mikhaere

Strength (plus guidance): 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18 So a 20 with Elena's help...
Sior
|
Taking 20 is absolutely an option. But...
As Elena steps back to plan her assault on the door, Mikhaere plants his feet into the sands and pushes on the door. With a wake of sand following them, the doors slowly open, revealing a passage into a courtyard. The archway’s ceiling contains a recessed inscription in Ancient Orisiani that has avoided the worst of millennia of erosion. Linguistics if you can/wish.
More interesting, however, is the wind gusting about the small courtyard, filling the air with fine grit (provides concealment for any object or creature more than 10 feet away in the courtyard). Corpses litter the area, little more than bone and desiccated, leathery skin. A dry well occupies the center, surrounded by the remnants of an outdoor market, though even the best tent is tattered and leans precariously. To the east, a set of low steps rise to a set of stone doors surrounded by symmetrical wall carvings of pharaohs.
Ouroboreia
|
Ouroboreia assists Guilford in the deciphering of the ancient text.
Aid another is automatic (d20+11), Ouro knows Osiriani and Ancient Osiriani by the way.
Sior
|
Being familiar with Osiriani, Guilford is able to piece together most of the meaning while Ouroboreia corrects some verbal conjugations from the Ancient Osiriani inscribed on the ceiling. It is a message welcoming travelers and offering them safety from the winds, though upon closer inspection, you note that a series of apparently accidental chips and scratches changes the meaning to offer safety from the winds of time. This seems like a coded message that the Jeweled Sages might use to signal allies who passed through.
Mikhaere
|
Mikhaere glares at the corpses littering the courtyard (corpseyard?), having seen far too many apparently dead bodies rise up in his years as a Pathfinder. Particularly when it came to Osirion. Sometimes he swore this entire gods-accursed place was more undead than normal living being.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Either way, once the bookish types are done, uh, doin' their thang, he leads the group warily inside, keeping a close eye for any sudden undead attacks. Although perhaps not close enough...
Sior
|
Hey, Mikhaere, you been lookin' behind my screen?!
The tengu's instincts prove correct once again as, no sooner does his taloned foot set itself upon the sands of the courtyard, he sees three mounds of bodies raise from the ground. From beneath emerge creatures of putrid flesh and exposed bone. A fourth pile also rises with the others, this one slightly larger than the rest. With a raspy voice, the large one points at you and bellows a roar mimicking that of the whisping sands about it.
Bear in mind the blowing sands giving concealment past 10 feet. I am being a little liberal with the visual descriptions, but it beats saying "you see shapes in the sand, roll for initiative". Speaking of...

Mikhaere
|
No Pathfinder worth their salt would look at a courtyard filled with dead bodies and assume anything but "We got zombies coming out way, ladies and gentlemen!" ;)
"Ah," Mikhaere drawls bitterly, "what a surprise. Undead in Osirion. What. A. Surprise." Spitting the out sand that he'd just swallowed, he glances up at the sun and calls down its searing radiance on the shambling rotters that had just risen up to greet them. As if a mirror had reflected light directly down on the courtyard, a brilliant, blinding flash envelops the undead.
Casting burst of radiance targeting all but #1, they are blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds, a DC 16 Reflex save reduces this to dazzled for the same length of time. Also, unless for some reason they are not evil, they take 4d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 1) = 12 damage, whether they succeed at the Reflex save or not.
Once the light has dissipated, Mikhaere closes in on the closest one.

Roland chuckles quietly at the clever Tengu as he waits patiently for the others to clear a view to the zomboid creatures.

2: 1d20 ⇒ 11
3: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Mikhaere calls down the radiant light of the sun, blinding the two smaller zombies and searing their flesh until they burst into a cloud of ash quickly dispersed by the winds. Yup, one-hit-KO. Nicely done.
Alas, it does not seem to affect the larger one at all! Knowledge (arcana) anyone?
Guilford Baldwin
|
Guilford peers into the swirling sands, attempting to pierce the secret of the creatures with his keen intellect.
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Apparently even intellects are somewhat blunted by the swirling sands...
Ouroboreia
|
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
I'd like to know about DR, special attacks, things we shouldn't use against him, immunities & resistances, if possible.
Ouroboreia ponders what she recollects of that golem, and warns her comrades about what she knows. Then she opens a magical pit under the golem's feet!
Casting create pit, 20 feet deep. Ref save DC 18 to jump to safety before the pit is fully formed.

Turning to the party, Ouroboreia shouts to the others to not use piercing weapons on it, as it will not harm the creature fully. She also makes note that these constructs are typically built with a disease in them which can be passed to other hosts through a physical attack.

After saying these things, she causes the earth to swallow the creature. It lands with a loud thud.
Ryster and Elena!
Elena Rasputin

Elena walks up and points a finger at the zombie, focusing a bit of her divine given powers through a bottle of acid it shoots out a little bit amplified

Ryster moves closer to the pit awaiting the construct's return while Elena's bolt of acid flies wide into the blowing sands. In retaliation, the zombie shambles closer and tries to slam its body into Elena's.

But Elena is able to avoid the blow.

Deciding he would leave the golem in the hole for someone else to deal with, Mikhaere makes his way around the back side of the last remaining zombie (or at least what he assumes is a zombie; the swirling sands makes it hard to tell).
He most certainly does not want any of that rotting flesh in his mouth, though, so he sticks to just raking his talon down its shoulders.

"GAAAAH!" Mikhaere coughs and splutters as the disgusting creature explodes in a burst of ash... or possibly just flaky dead skin, or something. Either way, not cool! Still, as far as people go, Mik's pretty used to dealing with dead, rotting things. That's a big part of the natural ecosystem of a swampland, after all. "Last time I freaking go near one of these things!"

Roland, the Reflex save was for ending your turn on the edge of the pit.
The golem tries to scramble up the side of the pit before resigning itself to the fact that it is unable to climb the sandy walls. Rather, it covers any vital spots to protect itself.
Party up!

Elena Rasputin

Elena will keep readying her acid splash attack for when it comes out of the pit
"How long with that pit be there? And what is our plan to deal with that creature?"
Ouroboreia

"About half a minute since the moment it was created. Damage the golem as much as you can to weaken him, and let's finish it off when it comes out."
Ouroboreia moves away from the pit in anticipation of that moment, her wand at the ready.

Mikhaere draws his sling and loads a bullet in the holster as he makes his way up the nearby stairs. Hopefully his aerial advantage would help keep him safe from whatever diseases riddled the carrion golem's cadaver.
