MWAH-HA-HAAA

Sorry about the delay; I completely borked my knee and doing anything is a challenge. I'll keep up with the postings this weekend if you guys post; otherwise, we'll roll along Monday.

Tilnar, safe travels, and hope you had a great vacation! Don't worry about Ensis; I'm sure Rags and DSX will take good care of him...

Ugh, borked knee no fun. :(

Get better quick!

Tilnar, safe travels, have fun!

And don't worry about Ensis, he's in good hands. :)

<Rubs hands together with Jim Carrey/The Mask smile> ;)

Treppa, in looking to possibly move Ensis this round, what is the difficulty if any of moving around/through the fountain? Is it difficult terrain? (takes more movement) or can move normal (Walking on the edge of the fountain like a kid) if make dex check? etc?

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Ensis was headed for the contact, on the west side of the map...

... now we see the dangers inherent in vacation.

It'd be a double move to climb/jump to the edge, then normal movement to... the next edge? So one square of normal movement through the water, which is not deep. Climbing up is no worse than movement through a crowd square. and wading/dropping down is normal movement, so it's more efficient than shoving through the crowd. Standing on the fountain gives height advantage to attack. (I see what you're thinking)

Tilnar may still be around today. :P

I am, indeed..

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I think Rags is disappointed. :)

Dang,
So Dee didn't get to move before she got dropped?
That does stink.
Fortunately, Ben has a potion for just such an emergency. :)

UNfortunately, I think that Means Dee is down, AND still in splash dmg range of Da Bomb. :(

I shall rethink. After lunch. ;P

Oh?, I think the splash dmg is only 5? (1 Min +4 Int)

I get a +1 dmg from point blank, but I do not think it applies to the splash dmg. (I wish!) :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Woops, thought the mutagen bumped your Int, but I see it does not. Sorry! Yes, you're at 5.

Yes, Dee is in splash range, along with a dozen or two other people in the crowd. I figure 2-4 people per 5' square, so average 3 for splash damage purposes.

Oops! yeah, my short hand for the mutagen probably confused you. Sorry.

Dex/Wis Mutagen means it bumps up Dex, at the cost of Wis.

Yeah that's the problem with Splash Dmg. :/
Great for taking OUT crowds, not so great for saving them. :P

Sigh, only thing I can brainstorm in THIS situation is drawing a dagger (As move action, +0 BAB) and THROWING it at a perp. Much better chance of hitting than if I used Melee att.

Hrm,... OK, so NO 5' step, HOWEVER, IIRC Drawing a weapon CAN be done as PART of a move action, yes?

So, since (correct me if I am wrong) firing/throwing a dagger is a Ranged attack, does that provoke AoO? Even with Point Blank & Precise shot? (PS only says no penalty for firing INTO melee)

So my best bet would be To pull to my dagger as part of a move, and throw it after moving away from the guy at J18?

Of course, it if weren't for Dee, Ben'd probably just toss the bomb anyway. He's not much on the safety of others. (Just those he likes) ;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

If your BAB is not +1 yet, you cannot draw as part of a move. Nor can you take a 5' in the crowd to get distance from the BG without using a move. :/ Sorry.

Well,... fiddlesticks.
-_-

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I know, right? Low-level problems.

Lady Monk/2, AC16/16/11, Hp 15/15, F+4,R+5,W+5, Init.+2, Perc +7, SM +7

That's why Dee doesn't use weapons... Oh hang on....

/me goes back to bleeding

Fortunately, You know a guy who likes potions! :)

If only someone could get him to focus long enough to stop trying to incinerate Thugs and bystanders alike and administer one to his injured friend,... ;P

Oh you KNOW that as soon as (IF) Val and Bert get Dee ONE square away from those thugs, he's bombing them back into the stone age!

<_< >_> O_o

Darned crazy Alchemists. Bringing bombs to a crowded swordfight!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Life is totally kicking my a$$. Trying to get my head above water this weekend to return Monday.

Oh goodie!

I thought maybe it was just me! :/

It's all good Treppa, see you Monday! :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Thanks for putting up with my truancy. Working on a post now.

I get the distinct impression that this is not a scene we are supposed to 'win' (like the initial goblin attack in RotRL) so much as 'survive'.

And I'm OK with that. Really.

But DANG it if these Dottari aren't beggin' for a bombin'!!!! :/

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Technically, your little group has not met the dottari yet. You've had run-ins with the Chelaxian Civil Guard. Ensis, on the other hand, is holding off two of the actual dottari and one of the Chelish Guard.

OK, I have a question. Rules Question(s) I suppose.

So I have Sleight of hand.
IF I made a 'successful' SoH roll, (vs the Dottari perception I guess?) could I then toss or roll a bomb without the person next to me seeing me do it? I ask because then I could, Theoretically, toss a bomb without drawing an AoO. :)

Also, If I toss a bomb at an empty square, the persons around that square still take the splash dmg. (Not as good as a direct hit, but still)

BEcause as I said, they are BEGGING to be bombed!

:D

Lady Monk/2, AC16/16/11, Hp 15/15, F+4,R+5,W+5, Init.+2, Perc +7, SM +7

Yay, the group are bonding over Dee's body... hang on that doesn't sound right. ¬_¬

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Rags: SoH does not look useful for attacks. It is also a standard action unless you take -20 to use it as a move.

You still are not facing dottari.

There are no open squares yet. The crowd is still exiting. Each 'open' square has 1-4 people in it.

Nobody is attacking Valexia. The Guard moved away.

The trees are park trees, trimmed so people can walk beneath them. They give no cover, but also offer no hindrance beyond the crowd beneath them.

So you are moving east, away from Ensis and the contact? Can you give me a target square for your movement? Val and Bertom can move at 30' (normal speed).

Tilnar, are you around and about to take Ensis' move?

<sigh> I know. (Puts away bombing supplies)

But those chumps are still asking for it. :)

(Sorry, 'Dottari', 'Chelish Guard' they're all BAD GUYS to me!) ;P

Female Human Bard (Celebrity) 1

My target square is K22. As for Ensis, unfortunately, Valexia doesn't know where he is going and doesn't want to drag an unconscious Deanna through the fountain into relative danger.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

I am back now. I'll catch up and post.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

New meds. x_x  zzzzzz...

They tell me I should adapt in 2-5 days. Hang in there. I am not dead, but dreaming.

Sleep?!? What is this mythical thing you have discovered?!?

;P

Checking in.

That is all.

:/

Hey,
Everyone alright? :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Sort of. Darned doctor said I had to get 8 hours of sleep each night. And since I get home from work between 10 and 11 and have to leave for work around 8-9 a.m., it has killed my posting time, which I essentially stole from sleep.

On the other hand, my various health readings are improving, so that's something. Maybe I'm not in imminent danger of dropping dead anymore.

OK, THAT would be a good thing.
At least in my book!
:)

You keep the health going in the right direction, and we'll catch up on PbP later! ;)

(Darn those doctors and their concern for our well-being!)
;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

There's some concern, I'll grant you.

GP: "OH MY GOD! WHAT IS GOING ON?!?! SIT RIGHT THERE AND DO NOT MOVE UNTIL A SPECIALIST CAN SEE YOU LEST YOU DIE! DIEEEEEE!."

Specialist's Office: "Yes, the doctor is taking new patients. We have intake appointments available on November 12 at 7:22 a.m. and February 3, 2017, at 1:33 p.m. Will one of those times work for you?"

Patient: -_-

LOL!

Erm, I mean,...

0_0

Really? Wow. Just,...

Yeah. :/

My home computer crapped out on me the other day, and since can't post at work due to lousy category blocking, it's putting a real hamper on my ability to post for the time being, though it looks like PS4 may still allow me to get some posts in.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Still about. Just holdin' on.

Welcome back Treppa!
:)

Hope your doing well.

(I hope at least your SANITY is doing better than mine! But that's another story,...) ;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Happy Easter to those who are observant. I hope the rest of you aren't stuck with a couple of feet of snow like we are. Finding eggs can be tough.

I've made some changes (had to drop my classes) so hope to keep up as previously planned from here on out. My apologies (again) for the delay.

Tilnar, I took Ensis' round 4 attack against the wounded dottari since there was only one, then went ahead with his withdraw as the first action of round 5. I can change it if that's not what you intended, but it all worked out well.

Skills:
(Acro +6; Bluff +6; Climb +0; Diplo +7; Disg +2; EscArt +5; Intim +6; Ride +1; SenMot +3; Stealth +7; Swim +0)
Male Human (Chelish) Swashbuckler 2

Should be fine. Ensis wouldn't really want to retreat, but would do so to protect his friends.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

It's difficult not to have the guard yell "Cardinal's Guards! To me!"

MWAH-HA-HAAA

And correct use of "whence"! It's balm to my shredded soul.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Sorry about not posting this morning, but the site was down until I had to dash off to work. It wasn't my fault!

Boring conversation anyway.

Now, let's build that reactor!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Per chat discussion by the majority of the group around Dee, they will wait for Ensis to join the group before proceeding (unless you have some strenuous objection, Rags?). I have Described that in the gameplay. With the crowds parting before Valexia, you will make it out of the park in 1 round without incident.

Feel free to RP conversation or describe moving out of the park, which you can do freely by proceeding east. I'll update tomorrow with park exiting info unless you decide to wade back in and take on more foes!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Yes, I forgot to check Thug 1 and Thug 2's reflex saves in-game. I checked in chat. One got a 3 and failed, taking 6, so the riposte was sufficient to drop him. The other saved and took 3, but the 11 damage was enough to drop him as well. No change to narrative.

Witnessed by Meows. :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Ready to move along, or still want to RP in the alley?

I say move along, BEFORE more people to 'play with' come along!

:)

Annnnd, I'm tired, (Physically AND mentally) Having a hard time being the quippy-peppy-person-on-uppers. ;)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Sorry to hear that, Rags. Hope you can get some rest over the weekend.

I'll do a long expository post moving us along to the bookstore. You won't have to post again until Monday. You could always RP Ben as crashing from the alchemical potions, too.

*hugs*

Thanks, But unfortunately the weekend is just another 2 workdays to me. ;P

Fortunately, I had a LOT of fun over our Easter break, so the glow from that hasn't completely faded yet. :)

EDIT- Which is why I'm so tired, it was a straight week of stage combat.
Fun, but a lot of exercise every day. ;P

So, interesting thing to note that I came across while reading the Alchemist threads.

The Alchemist infusions are just spells/day, so many per level. No biggie.

Turns out that 'Rules as Written' regarding the Mutagen is that the alchemist can only prepare one at a time. (If he makes a second the first becomes inert, etc) However, there is technically no 'per day' limit on how many mutagens he can make and use. As long as he uses his first one, and then spends another hour to make another one, he can continue to make and use more mutagens.

At first I thought this might be an accidental OP bit or a mistake, but then I realized, WHEN (normally) does ANYone get an extra 'hour off' in the middle of an adventuring day to brew another Mutagen? :/

Maybe during the lunch rest? If he uses his first one in the AM? :)
