FYI, I'll be traveling this week.
(Taking kids to Space Camp, then coming BACK to do work that I can't get out of, Then going BACK to Space Camp,..[We just had our 20th anniversary, this is closest were getting to a second honeymoon!]) ;P

Short version (too late!) I'll be traveling a lot this week, but I will have access to Internet in between driving and other insanity. So I should be able to mostly keep up!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

So should we postpone F&FH start from the 11th to later so you have time to make a character? Or are you bowing out on that one? Up to you, just need to know.

I will probably be laid up the first 2 weeks of August. The docs didn't say that, but patient experience is along the lines of "you can barely get out of bed", so not sure how much posting I'll be getting in.

Oi, that sounds,... fun. ;P

Good luck with that! :)

Um,... Yeah, I HATE to ask it, But I honestly don't know how I'm going to be able to get a PC made this weekend,... Considering I still have to pack, and I'll be traveling Fri, Back Sunday (working late) dealing with,... (Insert stupid stuff here that will get me fired if I say what I'm REALLY thinking) Then traveling BACK spending what's left of the week with my wife,...

As I said, I'll have access to internet, and likely time to post a coupel of times a day, but I don't know when I'll get a PC made.

Ugh, that sounds unpleasant, Treppa.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Yeah, I'm not excited about it.

On the plus side, there are a lot of patient blogs that are approximately 3,285.9 times more informative about the recovery process than anything the surgeon told me. I have time to prepare for the aftermath.

2016 can just be over as far as I'm concerned.

THIS, so this,... ;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Apropos of nothing, you can pour a healing potion down an unconscious person's throat without danger of choking them.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Miss ammunition recovery: 50% chance. Roll it yourself, d100. 1-50 is recoverable, 51-100% is destroyed or lost.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Rags is currently flooded and offline until his cable gets replaced and his house damage fixed.

Hi!

Cable/internet magically reappeared today. Yay!

After 2 days of cleaning out flooded garage my back hurts. Boo!

Will catch up soon as I can.
Just dont expect my usual novel length posts for a few more days. :)

Female Helmet Cat

I'm glad you're doing okay, Rags! Well, probably relatively speaking... And that internet has been restored to you is good too!

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I'm just happy you're not flooded out of house and home. The news from your area has looked really grim! Stay safe.

Yep, I keep telling myself it could be MUCH worse, just down the block there are folks with all of their furniture sitting on the curb. :(

Unfortunately, while we have had a nice dry day or two, we have more rain coming,.. and there are still flooded areas from the first time, and roads still closed,...

Several of the local public schools got water, so 1 day going back to school the kids get a week break! ;)
One school was so bad I'm told it would be better to just bulldoze it than try to repair it. :P (Not one that my kids go to, but still!)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Administrative question:

Does everyone have Roll20 accounts? Would you prefer using that for the battle maps so you can move your own tokens?

Lady Monk/2, AC16/16/11, Hp 15/15, F+4,R+5,W+5, Init.+2, Perc +7, SM +7

I've a roll20 account, I'm happy to do it that way. We just have to remember to keep a bit of a log in our posts (IE. Moved to X7)

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Roll 20 isn't the nicest on mobile devices, which it what I use most of the time -- but if the majority wants to go with it, I'll make due.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

I don't like Roll20 much, but thought it might be easier on people to move their own tokens, etc. Of course, re-making and posting maps each turn is kind of a PITA as well, so Google Docs is not the most fun GMing solution. I didn't even think about mobile devices, but that makes sense.

Roll20 only allows map labels on hex maps, so there's no good reference like "move to X7." You move where you move and there's no record of your last position, whereas with my maps, we can go back a few turns and see where everyone was if need be.

So far, that's 2 dislikes and 1 OK with it. Unless everyone else is overwhelmingly for it, I'll stick with Google Docs. But if you are seriously in favor of Roll20 for good reasons, speak up!

I do NOT have a rolld20 account, and to be honest, I'm not really looking to add yet ANOTHER account to my already crowded book(s) of account profile information. (I'm up to 3 little books with account info in them) ;P

HOWever, I'm always up for learning new things, and if it helps, and the rest want to, I won't argue against it either. :)

I can see why it would help the GM, ;) and can see how it might solve problems (NO! I said X7 not X8! Not in AoO range!) ;P

Meh, now I'm sounding more wishy-washy than usual! I'll roll with the majority, :D

I'm pretty well good either way, I have a roll20 account, no problem going that way for me. It seemed to me it would be easier on you instead of having to move everyone yourself and post new maps all the time, but I don't have a burning need to move my own token, really whatever makes your life as GM easier.

Yeah, what the Mousekewitz said!

;)

Right now, in my life? Easy is king! :) (I wish!) ;P

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Google drive sharing is easy peasy, except when you don't make notes of other people's moves between map updates... ;)

In response to your ? in game,

Yes, the flood is over. (Until the next time it downpours, ground still soggy here, and some of the outlying areas haven't drained at all yet) :(

But cleanup seems never ending, even for my thankfully minimal damage to property.

Add to that work which just keeps,... argh, Not now. I'll get into that later. :)
And I'm trying to teach an advanced acting class I haven't taught before (so I'm having to write lessons each week) to a bunch of 11-14 yr old ADOS's
(Attention Deficit Ooh Shiny!) ;P

And yeah, I'm just feeling overwhelmed and underpaid.
Neither of which is unusual, but they don't usually tag-team me. As much. ;P

I'll catch up! Eventually,... :)

As a head's up -- I'll be out of town in a place where I'm not expecting to have any internet access from Friday, Sept 2 until Saturday the 10 (and will likely be unpacking and the like, such that Monday the 12th is probably the safest estimate of when I'll be able to catch up and post).

I'll still be here to play this week, but given the chaos of packing, I wanted to make sure I posted a warning of my absence while I can (though I will try to post a reminder before I go..)

While I'm gone, please feel free to bot Ensis as needed. Mostly that means stabbing things, while also looking dashing and cracking wise. If sorely pressed, you can always use Monkey Island swordfighting insults.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

You guys do kind of have a Monkey Island vibe going in this one, don't you? :)

Hey, if it works! ;)

I actually should have picked up that game while it was on sale on GOG.
Heard good things about it. Maybe next time. :)

I saw that there's updated versions for consoles -- debated grabbing it.

I only played the first one, but it was quite spiffy. LucasArts was doing an excellent job of making good, but silly, games at the time. Wasted a fair number of hours playing Afterlife back then too (which was, effectively, SimHeaven/SimHell).

yeah it was a major sale on the game too. But I just don't have spare cash, and I have so many games that I'll likely never play,... I just couldn't talk myself into it.

Silly me. :/

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Lucas Arts also made some great games in its STAR WARS(TM): Jedi Knight series. They used to be quite a good game studio!

So, right. I work today, take the dog to the sitter tonight, then tomorrow's The Day. Not sure how long until I'm up and about. I don't want to get us started in another battle, so gonna leave you in this rat's nest for a while. Feel free to RP, do a door check, etc.

I expect Tilnar will be gone before I'm back - the 2nd, right? We can move on with combat and exploration stuff. I won't run anything with major character decision stuff until you return to run Ensis.

Yikes. :(

Cool! Have fun Treppa!

Well, TRY to at least? :)

OKOK,... At least enjoy the anesthetic? ;P

Best wishes for speedy recovery, (This the other surgery thing you were posting about earlier, yes?) :/

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Yeah, this is the jawbreaker/6-12 weeks liquid diet thingy.

Oi vay, not my recommended diet plan, but that'll do it!

Yeah, extra good luck with that! :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Sooooper excited. Yeah.

Thanks for the good wishes. :)

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Seconding the good wishes and the well-getting-soon bits. :)

Heheh,...

She said "Soup" ;P

get better faster Treppa! :)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Anybody want to take Ensis' turn for him?

I roll so horribly for PCs that it worries me to try to bot someone.

I'll do it. That way, if he gets killed, he can blame me.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

:D

Sorry about delays this week; I am housesitting with just my work laptop and anytime we need a map changed, I have to do it when I make a trip back home (every other day or so).

N worries,
Sorry about my own lack of posts. Just,... busy.
So,... busy,.... :P

Ben, on the other hand, would SERIOUSLY like to place a bomb in one of the wall openings. And then close it up with a crate or something.

You need the delayed bomb discovery for that. ;)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

So I went home to update the map and pbps, and this happened.

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

Ugh. Windows 10 is terrible.

SO glad I kept ignoring/fighting the 'free upgrades' win 8.1 was trying to force on me. :P

Good luck with that Treppa.

Although, in previous experience, I have had a re-booting/updating Windows PC literally seem to be locked up for over a day, then came home from work the next day and it had completed and seemed fine. :/

Lastwall Heroes - Current Date: Toilday, 31 Desnus, 4711 AR | Shadowrun - Current Date: Saturday, March 13, 2060

I've been fighting to keep Win7, personally -- even been looking for a new (old) laptop that runs it, in fact.

That said, spent like 2 hours fixing something on my parents' Win10 machine that should have taken like 15 minutes. It was unfun.

Hopefully it's resolved itself, Treppa?

I don't know yet. Had to have my roommate power it off at midnight when it hadn't changed from when I left. Plan to stop in today to put up drapes and see what shape the PC is in.

Fingers crossed.

<crosses fingers for Treppa>

Remember, even PC's are not immune to flattery. Or threats.

When I tire of over-excessive Microsoft malarky, I pet my computer gently and lovingly whisper,... "TOASTER!"

If that doesn't work, I get the hammer.

If THAT doesn't work,... I get the BIGGER hammer,... :D

Either the computer gets fixed, or I have fun.
Either way, I win! ;P

Home now.

Restoring your previous version of Windows.

Let's hope it means Windows 7.

<Crosses fingers for Treppa. Again.> ;)

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Eh, they nerfed friendly fire from 3.5 to Pathfinder, so you don't have to worry about hitting allies in melee.

MWAH-HA-HAAA

Sorry about the delay. I've spent the last 17 hours working on backups, recovery, deinstalls, disk reorganization, diagnostics, registry repair, driver upgrades, safe mode, repeated reboots, and event log analysis. Oh, and virus scans. Yay, Windows 10.

Maybe now Skyrim will run for longer than 5 minutes before the entire freaking system locks up and has to be hard POR'd.

Anyhoo, it seems to be up and stable now, and I'm completely shot. I'm going to bed and will post in the morning so I don't do something stupid like TPK you with a single lemure.

Nighty-night.
