The table at the center of this rectangular room is completely contained within a rune-inscribed circle set into the floor. A peaceful wood with trampled undergrowth is visible through the tear, though the tapestry clearly hangs against a solid wall.

Yup, about the results one would expect.

With a sigh, Jayori will call for the others to vacate the room, as the fires prove too much for them to safely contain by themselves.

"Close the doors, try to keep it from spreading further." He says. "We can do no more ourselves."

He will drag the unconscious arsonist out of the room as well, and bind him up. Confiscating the keys to confirm they indeed belong to the Master of Spells.

"Yâble was correct." He confirms. "These do appear to be Aram Zey's."

Can we determine the nature of what killed Aram Zay, or how long he's been dead? etc?

Definitely take the time to close the portal!

Knowing resources are running thin, Jayori will once more use his wand to heal some of the more grievous wounds.

Hm... rough calculations that means Penda, Kailun, and Yable!

    CLW Penda: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
    CLW Kailun: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
    CLW Yable: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

I know there's some more nicks and scratches still, just wanted to get the larger numbers back down

    Silver Crusade

You can roll a Heal check on Aram Zey. Any divination magics (including Detect Magic) might also give some more information. It's pretty clear that your feathered friends here wouldn't have been able to bring down the Master of Spells, though.

Penda nods to Jayori and Tyranius. "Thank you. Those beast power cut deeper than a blade."

She walks over to the body. "This will have wide effects. Someone will have to take his place after all this is over. It is unlikely anyone so... him will be found."

"We should get the portal closed if we can.

Tyranius moves over and peers at Aram Zey's body. With a somber look her grabs a small carpet from nearby and drapes it over the man's body.

Though Zey has many wounds, from a variety of weapons, none are obvious killing blows. If Stormy (or someone else) opts to investigate magically, you discern the lingering aura of what must have been a powerful necromantic spell of some sort.

You pass word of Zey's fate on to another Pathfinder, who promises to alert senior field agents, and make haste to the chamber where the Sky Key is kept.

This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles. Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder. Heatless torches blaze with remarkably consistent light in sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock against the eastern wall ticks each passing second as its hands move erratically.

A ghostly image of a Pathfinder appears in the center of the room, where his likeness eerily begins to slide through the display case. His voice echoes as he speaks to an unseen party. “Oh no, they’ve stolen the Sky Key. It also appears they disrupted the auxiliary stabilizer, too.”

He pauses before continuing. “Do you feel that? I feel kind of sick all of a sudden. I hope they didn’t try to disassemble it—or worse, bring it too close to the tapestry. Wasn’t that why Zey kept them so far—”

The figure’s words go unfinished as he begins to scream and dissolve, fading from view in a matter of seconds. Almost immediately, four identical copies of him, seemingly made of glowing coils of flesh, appear on the far side of the room.

    Knowledge (Religion) identifies these.

At the beginning of your turn, please roll a Fortitude save (DC in spoilers below), as time seems to speed up and slow down erratically, disorienting you. Those who pass are immune for the duration of the encounter. Those who fail are sickened for 1d4 rounds (please roll for yourself), and may save again once that period is over.

"I've heard of these things before..." Kailun manages to say before clutching his stomach.

Kailun uses his arcane bond to get another summon monster I and does a 5 foot step to the back of the group (squeezing with Penda). Not sure why the wizard keeps leading the way into each encounter...
