Sidius Consano |
No, I only speak Terran and Auran - not Aquan, sadly.
Talvek Drassed |
With one foe defeated, Talvek shifts his attention to one of the smaller creatures, the reefclaw currently menacing Lubella.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
GM Aarvid |
Lubella slashes at the last skum to good effect.
1d20 ⇒ 17
Sidius attempts to lull the orange reefclaw to sleep, but the fishy thing is oddly not tired.
Both elementals miss the pesky orange fish-crab.
Talvek drops the closer reefclaw and Arcos swims to hit the remaining skum with Lubella. The reefclaw starts a strange spinning....
Orange Reefclaw on elem claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 for claw,grab: 1d4 ⇒ 1
The last injured skum fights madly against his two opponents...

Lubella Heathertoes |
Note that the skum got a critical threat on the bite.
Lubella winced as the remaining skum bit her arm; she maintained her composure and slashed again. Why did the creature persist in attacking her when it could retreat and save itself?
Swim, Heroism: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
Mithril Scimitar, Battle Dance, Heroism, slashing weapon underwater: 1d20 + 10 + 4 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 4 + 2 - 2 = 27

Sidius Consano |
Its opponent down, the elemental swims over to engage the remaining reefclaw.
Elemental (Orange): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7
Elemental (Blue): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8
Wow, ok then.
Sidius cackles to extend the hex distorting the reefclaw's defenses, then swims into a better position.
Talvek Drassed |
These creatures were certainly persistent! Between their weapons and their magic, the Silver Ravens were steadily thinning their numbers, but they could still be a threat. Mindful of sitting for too long in one place, Talvek kicks off at a diagonal to come up behind Lubella and attack the remaining skum.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
GM Aarvid |
You are able to finish off the last two creatures, the reefclaw swirling in a death throes as it collapses. Fortunately it does not hit anyone.
The elementals dissolve and the water is left still with the trickles of blood swirling around you.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
*** End Combat * **
Lubella Heathertoes |
Lubella looked around the area of the underwater dock, looking for clues to the original water level.
Perception, Heroism: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17
I’m on my phone, so I can’t move my token.
GM Aarvid |
Lubella swims around and looks at the dock.
She sees both barrels are filled with water at the
moment, but each still contains an bottle holding air.
Not much else is seen around the docks. The one skum swam off to the west. Another opening is visible to the east.
Talvek Drassed |
Talvek swims in the other direction from Lubella, likewise looking around for anything of note.
Perception, heroism, HA: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
GM Aarvid |
While Lubella does not find much more of interest, Talvek and his keen hearing amplified by the water detects noises of gurgled communication at a distance to the west where the last fish man swam.
Talvek Drassed |
Swimming back to the others, Talvek points west and signals the likely presence of more hostiles that way.
Sidius Consano |
Sidius nods, "Might be best to rush them while our magic is still strong."
Lubella Heathertoes |
Lubella agreed with Sidius and swam west. Anticipating trouble, she healed herself and Talvek first, and then encamped her agility.
CLW (Lubella): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
CLW (Talvek, 2 charges): 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (5, 7) + 10 = 22
Casting Cat’s Grace on herself.
GM Aarvid |
Lubella heals up and joins the men to the western tunnel
Slight update to the map...or rather the skum and noises were to the southern tunnel.
Phosphorescent lichen grows on the walls of this tunnel,
though portions have been scraped away so that someone
can carve messages into the stone walls. The tunnel leads to
a larger cave and creatures approach.
One appears to be the skum that swam away...and the other...well, more of a priestly fishman, if such a thing exists. :)

Sidius Consano |
Sidius fixes his will and hurls a slumber hex at the 'priest'.
Will DC 18 or sleep for 5 rounds
GM Aarvid |
will: 1d20 ⇒ 13
The fishy priest looks back at Sidius and fights off the urge to sleep...
I moved him forward, and slightly modified map so you'd have line of sight. But I think you still need to be within 30' to use hexes, right? See if positioning works.
Sidius Consano |
I do, sorry. I assumed Lubella and I were both up there, given that we could see them?
GM Aarvid |
Ok, I moved everyone forward to get within 30' and LOS with Lubella in front per her post. Will not proceed until at least hear from her to confirm.
Lubella Heathertoes |
Swim, Heroism: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
Lubella swam forward until she saw the apparent priest. She tried to hail the Skum, ”Perhaps we can come to some sort of agreement. We don’t have to fight each other.”
Diplomacy, Heroism: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 2 = 21
GM Aarvid |
Lubella starts to speak to the creature, at least the caster-leader, which registers as understanding her words, but not heeding them in the least.
Intruders will be sacrificed!
Some incanting and now there are img: 1d4 ⇒ 1 several of him.
The other skum advances and sets up a guarded position (readied)

Lubella shook her head at the fishman’s subborn belligerence and swam forward.
Double move to swim 10 ft.
Note that she is at full HP; I can’t edit her profile. I can’t move her token either.
GM Aarvid |
Lubella paddles herself forward, towards the awaiting fishman and his trident.
Map updated.
Sidius Consano |
Sidius quickly begins to cast a spell to summon assistance.
Talvek Drassed |
"Uh, no, thank you." Talvek politely declines the offer to be sacrificed as he swims forward to support Lubella.
Double move.
GM Aarvid |
We can get you...for a round or two (party can choose or I post tomorrow)
Sidius begins summons while Talvek swims up to help Lubella.
GM Aarvid |
Arcos paddles himself closer to the fishmen.
The closer one swims up and swings at Lubella with trident claw and fang.

Summon: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Sidius points behind the priest, causing a trio of Dolphins to attack and harry him.
Dolphin (Red) - Flanking, Smiting: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14 for 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5

Dolphin (Yellow) - Smiting: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 for 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
As the dolphins attack, Sidius fixes his will, hurling another hex, putting mental pressure on the priest to slow his reactions and worsen his defenses, then cackles.
Evil Eye Hex, -2AC for 9 (8+1) rounds -- Will DC 18 reduces to 2 (1+1)
GM Aarvid |
The three dolphins appear, and immediately attack the caster.
The first misses badly, not even hitting an image.
The next manages to pop an image
The third also does not hit the shifting fishman.

Talvek Drassed |
"First sacrifice us, then eat us - truly you have no manners." Talvek continues to run his mouth, hoping it will distract their foes even a little as he strikes at the skum in front of him.
Attack, heroism: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23 Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Lubella Heathertoes |
Swim, Heroism: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24

GM Aarvid |
Talvek stabs true and punctures the skum.
Lubella paddles closer and then water dances for a quick slash of her own, leaving the creature more bloody but not down.
Arcos considers using magic missiles, but suspects they will be blocked by the caster's defenses. He opts to swim closer (double move).
The bleeding skum retaliates against its foes.

Heartened by the appearance of dolphin allies, Lubella continued her attack.

Talvek Drassed |
"The mighty who now? I never heard of this Ungol-pagh, so they can't be that great."
Easily deflecting the skum's feeble attack, Talvek continues to harry the creature while keeping a wary eye on the caster. For all his bravado, he was getting concerned about the situation - they couldn't fight for much longer before running out of air.
Attack, heroism, studied target: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28 Damage: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8
Move action to study target.
Sidius Consano |
The dolphins press their attack, trying to take advantage of the hex's effect on hits defenses.
Did he cast defensively? Wouldn't there be a batch of AoOs against the displacement?
They're all flanking now, based on Talvek and Lubella, I believe?
Dolphin (Red) - Flanking, Smiting: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15 for: 1d4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5

Sidius focusses his will and throws another hex at the creature, weakening its resistances, and then cackles to extend both.
Evil eye, -2 to saves for 8+1 rounds (Will DC 18 reduces to 1+1)
Cackle extends the previous evil eye (-2 AC) from 1 round remaining to 2.
GM Aarvid |
@Sidius, he does cast defensively (per his tactics/stats)... and indeed my roll is AWOL.
Also, since Lubella dropped hers, Talvek can switch targets/actions since the dolphin blocks him atm.
