Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Good: Reinforce Armaments is an Arcanist spell. Bad: Given our apparent lack of mythic powers at the moment, Sakuro can't cast it. Decent: Sakuro DOES know Mending and could quick-study that. Given enough time, she could fix the sword. Best I can do, I'm afraid - I don't think Sakuro has anything else worth using against these guys. >.<

Nala the Wanderer |

Given your size, you can probably do something similar to Nala and work to keep them off of their feet. That will allow us to take minimal damage. As a downside, that will leave us rockslingers with a harder time.

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko roars at the statue when his fist does little damage, and his eyes begin to look wild again, as he swings his katana with both hands, trying to cleave the thing in half.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

![]() |

Nia's whip snakes out to bind the second statue, and it takes a step -
...it teeters...
...and just when it looks to have recovered, falls.
It takes a jab at Auric, who has edged over close to it.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
The other staggers to its feet, with cracks literally everywhere!
Damage to Reiko's sword: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5) = 12
...and the katana snaps!
Auric lays into it once again with the broken greatsword:
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (1, 1) + 8 = 10
...and it collapses into a pile of broken rubble!

Nala the Wanderer |

Slam: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 4 = 32 v. prone.
Slam Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Sling: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 4 = 17 v. Prone
Sling Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Slam Confirm?: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 4 = 21 v. Prone
Crit Slam Total Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 7 = 14
As Nia puts the other one on the ground, the elemental turns its attention to it, and delivers a vicious hammer-blow to the stone creature's head, even as Nala sends a rock flying towards the thing, before the others can crowd around it. -4 to hit on sling if they get there first

Nala the Wanderer |

I felt my option was shoot at it while it's covered in allies, or shoot at it while it's on the ground; so moot. :P

Antonio Nedraid |

Antonio saw an opportunity and lashed out at the thing as it tried to stand up.
Rapier attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 for a possible 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 piercing damage.

Nala the Wanderer |

AoO Slam: 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
As the thing rises, the earth elemental hammers at its head once more.

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala's earth elemental crumbles to stone, and the stone vanishes, causing Nala to frown; its magic is gone, but there is little she can do for that. She waits, silently, for there to be a gap in the creature's defenses, or her ally's contributions, before sending one more rock hurtling into the brink.
Sling Attack: 1d205 - 4 ⇒ (172) - 4 = 168
damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro, too, continued to wait. There just, well, wasn't much she could do when pounding heavy statues was involved. Not unless she got even more creative and started changing out spells again, anyway, but she wanted to save her energy for something necessary. A wise mage knew when to stop casting.
...
Whiiiiiich didn't stop her from wanting to, of course, but she had a little good sense.

Nala the Wanderer |

I've kinda been wondering why Sakuro didn't just make a break for the upwelling. :p that'd have possibly solved several problems, while possibly creating several more.
Also, ugh... That was 15 on the dice before I botched at adding her mods.
1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 4 = 5 No longer a hit.

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko swings his broken blade at the remaining statue.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala simply stays quiet and watches the other statues. This had all been a rather strange experience.

Nia'Nikta |

Nia'Nikta panted slightly as she wrapped up her whip and put it on her hip again. "Alright, everyone with broken weapons bring them here. I will mend them while you drink from the source." She said with a soft pant. Her heart rate had gone up in that fight. Ending the power in her words conserving her remaining daily uses of that power.
"Reiko, I can start with yours."

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala moves around her spear to face out into the wilds, the counterweight glowing softly, as if a miniature moon, in the sunlight. There would be plenty watching the interior, for now.
"While you repair them, do you mind explaining what exactly brought you to this isle and why you are following that path?"

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro just watched Baldek, an interesting expression on her face - she looked like she was in study mode, and clearly watching to see what effects drinking the water might have on him.

![]() |

Your mythic rank is back.

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko looks down at his katana, the last remnant of his past, and his home, and sighs. He takes it to Nia.
I thanks you in advance for your help. This is a... family blade.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro blinked slightly. "...Leeeeet's get him away from that stuff." she said, looking distinctly worried about what could excite any dwarf so much.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Twitch, twitch.
No! It had made a dwarf weird!
...But they were probably supposed to be here.
But someone could have put a trap of some kind here...
...But Aya didn't know what it was. It was unknown magic!
"Gah, fine! The barn's not here to burn down this time anyway!"
And with that, Sakuro drank from it.

Nala the Wanderer |

"Is your friend going to be okay?" Nala asked, but didn't bother to point out which friend she meant.

Nia'Nikta |

Nia would look up at Nala and smiles lightly.
"There is a town not far from here that some of these people are from. That being said it has been under siege by many calamities. Spirits, Ogres, cultists and even spawn from that which is from the void. These hero's here came here at the.... behest of a friend we had all made. She sacrificed her life to give us the power to kill the spawn. When she died...we felt compelled to come here and drink from the Spring of Hero's on the Isle of Life. We each have out own motivations but I believe most of us are here to gain the power needed to protect those we care about, or even just the innocent. Something is....happening and we need to be prepared for it."
Nia'Nickta would keep concentrating on mending since the spell took so long to cast. As Aya spoke up. "I am not surprised it is magical. If you can give me a bit I can look at it. If its the Spring of Hero's then it makes sense to be unknown magics."

Reiko Arashi |

As Nia repairs his blade, Reiko speaks, more than he has since the whole Titan magic debacle started.
I'm not surprised it isn't known. Most of the things I... remember now... about Titan magic aren't known or explained by today's studies. Most of it is... ancient, some doesn't even work the way it is intended anymore, leaving... people... to twist it to their own ends. If Alyra bade us drink, then I shall trust her. Perhaps I shall find some kind of... reparations for my past.
He anxiously runs his finger along the spell scars on his forearm as he recollects his past, and speaks of forgiveness. Once his blade is finished, he gives it one test swing, which elegantly becomes one swift arc into its scabbard on his hip. Then, he makes his way to the pool, and takes a long drink of it. When finished, he stands, and looks at the rest of the group.
I can feel her presence here... And her power. We can carry on our, and her, mission with this. Let us defend this town, and these people with the gift of Alyra's strength, and honor her memory and sacrifice by doing so.

Antonio Nedraid |

Antonio checked his sword again, astonished he didn't break it attacking the statue. He sheathed it, then bent down to the spring, cupped his hands and drank deeply of the water.
He looked up in astonishment, a glimmer of light behind his eyes.
"My god, the power! I feel it returning!"

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Heh heh heh... ahahahahaha... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
No, no, hold it together!
Off to the side, Sakuro could be seen clutching her head, clearly trying hard to stop herself from laughing maniacally. It was entirely possible that she had juuuuuust a few (dozen) major issues where magical power was concerned, but she was trying very hard to hold all of it together and not go wild. It wasn't easy, but she finally managed to take a few deep breaths and slump down slightly.
"Okay... okay... I'm good." she said, clenching her fist. "Got all the knowledge... in my head now..." And was going to have to read, like, every spellbook ever. She was pretty sure she could memorize all the spells now.

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala would keep a quiet vigil over her allies as they did their things. She'd wait for Nia to finish mending the weapons before following along.
She interrupted her vigil on occasion to look Sakuroward. Something was deeply wrong with her. And with Baldek... And Reiko. But then... something was terribly wrong with her as well. She finally spoke up after some thought, speaking to Reiko. "You speak of redemption. What sort do you see in your future."

Nia'Nikta |

Nia would stand after complete with all the weapons and looks at Nala. "I believe you should drink also. I am no Hero in my mind but, I will be what is needed until such a time as I am not needed again." She would carefully walk to the source and drinks from it. Feeling the bit of healing and the wave of power seeping into her again.
'Alyra, I will remember you always my friend.' Nia makes sure to face away from the others as she lets her few tears fall. Swiping them away she would straighten and turns to Nala waiting for her to drink.

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala tilts her head, and then shrugs. Walk like the natives and all that.
She takes a drink as well. Instantly innate understandings spring to mind, tying her to the land itself. Everything becomes a little sharper for a moment, and then it's gone, though the power to call upon it seems to rest within the pit of her chest.
Currently: Feat: Mythic Paragon, Hierophant: Inspired Spell, Universal: Spellcasting. Spells: Cure Light Wounds and Endure Elements and Entangle. A little subject to change due to this being kneejerkish.

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko stands ready at the edge of the group, with his arms at his sides. While he feels a bit accomplished that he fulfilled Alyra's last request, it's still a sad moment. After a while of contemplation, he sighs and looks toward the beach.
Has anyone thought about how we are to get off the island? I don't believe the barge would make it. I'll be sad to leave this place... Alyra's presence is... comforting.

Reiko Arashi |

Sorry Nala! I just noticed you directed a post at me!
After Reiko's question to the group, he walks over Nala, and leans against a tree as he ponders for a second, then answers her.
I'm not sure. Honestly, I don't even remember much of what got me here. Just... bits and pieces. But, they are terrible bits and pieces. The evil magic you see here, I was somehow caught up in it in my homeland, The Misty Isles. Sacrifices, ancient Summoning Spells... just... Fragments. Whatever it was resulted in my memories being erased and me being banished her. I am positive I have a sister, but other than that... My life began when I awoke on a dock, in this land, watching a ship sail away. I hope that... whatever I did, I can find some sort of repentance here, opposing the same evils I was once a part of. Perhaps it's fate, destiny, I don't know.
He sighs, and gestures to the scars on his body.
All this, I believe it's evidence that whatever I was involved in is dark. At they're useful, though. There's a tremendous amount of spell energy in them. I only recently discovered I can create new ones, as a form of expendable spells, much like scrolls. Terrible, I know, but I need it in order to help these people.
He stands straight, and looks at the stream.
awhat brought you here, to this place of destiny? I don't think it's coincidence that we ran into you. You too, are more than you seem. It's Alyra's will, I like to think.

Antonio Nedraid |

Antonio climbed a tree and shaded his eyes to look around at the horizon.
"How ARE we going to get off the island? Heroic as we are, I don't think swimming is an option."
He slid back down to the ground and brushed off his leggings.
"I guess we can make a raft or maybe make a dugout canoe. May take a while though."

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
"Mag-"
-ic was not the answer to everything, right? ...Okay, maybe it was, especially in her case, but bottom-level spells weren't actually that good for long-distance transportation. She'd be more useful if she helped build something instead. Or if they could, like, send a message to the port area, asking someone to come get them...
