Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro was more interested in the food than the performance - until she was done eating, at any rate, at which point she began listening appreciatively to the story of story of what had gone on. There were actually a few things she'd learned by listening to the bard speak... and she applauded politely when Nia was finally done with the performance.

Nala the Wanderer |

And so it was that Nala came to a better understanding of what had occurred. "So this Alyra was tied to the ancients, and we now have arrived at her doorstep." she acknowledged. But that was the only way in which she commented. She continued to eat bits of the crab, being somewhat dour and mostly quiet when something wasn't important to her.
"Come morning, I suppose we should drink from the font again, and I will provide us with protections; the world seeing us as an ally will be beneficial in our search, and reinforcing that will certainly not harm us. For now, I will rest."

Nala the Wanderer |

Once Nala has an understanding of everything that has gone on, she opts to simply head off to sleep; they'd need energy to search the island tomorrow. Getting a drink so that the others could move freely in the morning would ease everything along. She didn't even bother with shelter, for now.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro, too, seemed rather content to snooze once dinner was done - resting was important for the magically-inclined, and it had been a pretty crazy day. And as much as she wanted to go figure out the source of this mystery, she was MORE interested in doing it when she was full of metaphysical juice.

Nia'Nikta |

"That sounds like a sound plan. With that exploring the island would be easier. But yes Alyra was tied to the Ancients. A benevolent one from what I can tell. "
Nia'Nikta would take the first watch as she settled people into sleep. She would wake Antonio for his watch before turning in herself.

Aya Yalandlara |

Aya wonders back up to the source of the stream and takes another drink. She then waits a moment to see if the 'power' returns. She then cats Detect Magic and looks around for any magic auras. If she finds ay she concentrates on each aura to try to determine what kind of magic it is.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko takes his time and 20 searching the surrounding area for a way under the shrine, or a hidden passageway to... Well anything, really.

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala's understanding of what the spring did changes how she prepares her magic for the day.
Endure Elementsx2, Cure Light Wounds x1.
Aggressive Thundercloud, Barkskinx1
Once she has taken a drink, she gathers everyone to give them her blessing:
Targets: Antonio, Aya, Nia, Reiko, Sakuro, and Herself. 2 Mythic Power Spent, two spells cast.
School abjuration; Level cleric 1, druid 1, paladin 1, ranger 1, sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range touch
Target creature touched
Duration 24 hours
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
A creature protected by endure elements suffers no harm from being in a hot or cold environment. It can exist comfortably in conditions between –50 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit without having to make Fortitude saves. The creature's equipment is likewise protected.
Endure elements doesn't provide any protection from fire or cold damage, nor does it protect against other environmental hazards such as smoke, lack of air, and so forth.
Mythic:
The target changes to one creature touched per level. Affected creatures gain cold resistance 5 and fire resistance 5. They're not slowed by snow, and ignore penalties on Perception checks and ranged weapon attacks from hail, rain, sleet, and snow. They treat wind as one category weaker.
For Nala, this is Fire and Cold resist 7, due to her trait.
Afterwards, she will join in the search.

You will find things like the badger burrow - and they watch you if you do invade, but seem to have some sense of deference, even in their own homes - but after hours of scouring the island, you discover it's actually missing any structure or underground complex of any sort - and the only significant feature appears to be the circle of pillars around the stream's source.

Reiko Arashi |

Reiko shakes his head in frustration.
What are we missing? There has got to be something here we aren't seeing...

Nala the Wanderer |

"I could attempt to speak with the fauna... I don't think they'll have much interest in what I have to say, though." Nala offers. "I think the badgers will be the most likely to be of help, as they're burrowers. If they don't help, then asking the water denizens is an option."

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Off to the side, Sakuro could be seen on her hands and knees with her head hanging down, looking rather depressed by those comments. "Studying magic... fighting monsters... tracking down legendary powers... limited to asking badgers... graaaah!" she stood up again. "I'm gonna find what's in that area if it's the last thing I do!" Nala's comments might have ignited some kind of competitive streak in Sakuro - and the girl stomped off, intending to go over the pillars and the source of the powerful magic with as much attention to detail as possible.
Taking 20 on Perception, w/Detect Magic as well, while examining the circle of Pillars.

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala watches Sakuro for a moment... then taps into the deep, thrumming power that connects her to the earth. She concentrates for a moment, and the energy flows through her.
"I will look around the island. There are more ways to do this, and I'm not opposed to exhausting them."
Nala casts Greensight before searching what she can of the island (take 10 to search as much of the island as she can in half an hour), without all of the foliage being in the way.

Nala the Wanderer |

Once Nala returns, she's thought of two more options, but looks expectantly to the others, before she gives either an attempt. "Do any of you speak any of the elemental languages?"

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Without hesitation, Sakuro handed the tiara over to Nia. "I know Auran..." the obsessed arcanist added in response to Nala's question. "Maybe we should try digging around this stone and seeing how deep it goes...?"

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala nodded. "If we spoke Terran, I would summon the earth elemental again, and retrieve what information we could in the short time we had. I do not believe an air elemental would suffice in this situation, however. The other option is to ask the wildlife for aid. I do believe that a large animal would make short work of digging this up, were they willing to aid us."
She stays out of the way for now, and watches to see what occurs.

Nala the Wanderer |

"Given what you stated, it certainly doesn't make sense. You were entrusted with power from an ancient being who told you to come here and 'drink from the source', because, presumably, the world will need you with these powers. However, this place will serve only as an anchor for as long as you have these powers, unless you somehow learn to take it with you." she says, shaking her head. She hated talking. But she hated being frustrated with a situation, more.

Nala the Wanderer |

"Nor does it seem that water that does this." Nala motions around, "will keep for long at all. All manner of things will grow in it if it is left to stand for any period of time. Perhaps boil it and see if it becomes a potion of some sort?" she offers up. "Are any of you versed in Alchemy?"

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
"Brewing stuff was never my thing." Sakuro said with a sigh. "Do you think I could keep casting, like, nonstop if I keep drinking? I could probably manage SOMETHING if I did that..." Ooooooor it would fail horribly. Also a possibility.

Nala the Wanderer |

"I think I would enjoy watching as you attempt to do so." Nala offers, leaning against a marble column. "Either way, it promises to be quite entertaining."

Nala the Wanderer |

Seeing that nothing works, Nala uses the last of her mythic power to make a cask to carry the water in, finding a downed tree or old stump, then heads for the ship after filling and sealing the receptacle.
She returns to being quiet now that she knows there isn't any sort of puzzle or anything deeper.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro poked around the entire time that Nia and Nala worked... but it seemed none of them could find any solutions to this mystery, and with a heavy sigh and slouched shoulders, she staggered her way back to the ship they'd be using. Not being able to find a good answer seemed to have made her a bit listless... though that was only likely to last until the next interesting magical thing she found.

Nia'Nikta |

Nia would look at Aya. "Let's gather what we can in flasks and such and let's head back. That's my vote anyways. I am not sure why we were supposed to be here but maybe we will learn with time."
She looked at the statue of Alyra. "Rest well Alyra." She would help haul things to the boat.

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
As she went to bed, Sakuro was muttering something about extradimensional spaces, permanent teleportation spells, and one way or another getting to the bottom of all of this.

Antonio Nedraid |

"Hm. Perhaps it is a puzzle to be solved... I wish I could comprehend it. But if we cannot work it out, we need to move along." Antonio said, laying back against his pack.

The night is peaceful - nature is so close, and yet, in harmony here, which may be strange considering how you all arrived. At any rate, as the sun climbs into the sky in the morning, everybody is remarkably rested.
After feeling broken on the previous day, it's a remarkable feeling.
There's still plenty of crab meat for breakfast, and the captain has smoked about 20 lbs of it!

Nala the Wanderer |

Nala has an entire cask of it. Whatever size cask she could reliably make from one solid piece of deadwood with Wood Shape. (Up to 15 cubic feet)
She'll also fill her waterskin with it, because it's at least the clearest water available.

Aya Yalandlara |

So, I am to understand we do not feel the mystic power in the morning until we first take a drink. Right? Aya checks her 3 vials and her waterskin, which she filed yesterday to see if the magic is still there. If so, she drinks the content on one of the vials. Does the mystic power return to her? If not, she drinks from the spring. Dose she feel the power return then? She then refills that vial from the spring. and reports her findings to the party. If Aya feels the mystic power, she goes to Sakuro, and tells her, "Sakuro, if you give me 25 gold pieces, I will make you a first level Pearl of Power."

Sakuro, Obsessed Arcanist |
Sakuro fished around in her pockets, then tossed the appropriate number of coins to Aya, looking more than slightly interested in the elf's idea. Now at 967 GP.
She did not, however, drink the water herself. She had no need to at the moment - and the ability to keep spells memorized in her head was kind of pointless if it fizzled after an hour. Might be useful on the one or two times she might want to sneak a spell into somewhere by keeping it in her mind, but beyond that, it just wasn't any good as long as it was temporary.

Aya Yalandlara |

Aya sits quietly a little away from the group and concentrates on some materials she pulled from her Spell Component Pouch for a brief period of time. She seems to be speaking very quietly as she concentrates. After a bit she get up, walks over to Sakuro and hands her a small pearl. This pearl will return to your memory any one first level you have already cast each day, It can be used but once a day. Use it wisely, my friend.
She then goes back where she was sitting, pulls out her Spell Book, and starts studying the spells she will have available to her this day.
