I think the undetectable castings were for any searching we were going to do in the city for Loran before heading out. However, since Elise seemed excited to have something to do, I say we go shopping and head out. Still, I wouldn't mind one casting since I am the face and if we do come across anything good I'd prefer not stick out like a sore thumb.

I have some scrolls of mount and Piety can cast it, but at 25 gold per 2 hours, or 1 spell slot per 12 hours, I'd prefer just buy the horses for myself. Happy to cast for someone else if they need it.

Forsythe pulls out the mwk survival kit, begins fidgeting with things and takes a few readings.

You head out into the wilderness, two hours south from Farholde, you pass the farms and steads, another hour, and you've firmly reached the wilderness of the Caer Bryr. Rechecking measurements, you keep on going. The trackless wilderness around you is beautiful. Birds of Paradise hide among the trees towering above you. In places you have to lead the horses. No trails lead here, but you do find a rough grotto, a mossy floor over trodden branches that seems strong enough, and head off in the direction of the horn.

Edwin, Neji, and Forsythe hear something up ahead around a low rise of foliage, about 50 ft away. No one is prepared when suddenly with a roar, a tyranosaurus rex comes crashing through the brush, a shower of roots, plants, and dirt. letting out a deafening roar, sending birds and animals in the area fleeing. Your horses all lose their bowels.

those that bought combat trained mounts, your mounts are unsettled, I need a DC 10 ride check to calm them. Those with riding mounts I need a DC 20 ride check to calm them. ( i'd roll, but i don't know what everyone bought ) make this check as reaction. failure means your horse bucks and might throw you, and will retreat/flee on initiative 10. with you on it if you can't calm it.

Edwin you controlled your mount, if you want to ride check to fast dismount, its 20. adjusting your roll to ride, rather than acrobatics, and its a 19, so it takes you a move action to dismount, in the square of your choice. you still have a standard action left. your mount is controlled, for now. i don't know if you bought a combat mount, or a riding mount.

after the T Rex's action, on 10 the horses bolt. those of you still on your horse can try and control it on your action. Dismounting while the horse is moving at speed can be done with acrobatics to lessen the damage (2d6) or a ride check , both as part of/move actions. the horses can't "run" here, but they're trying their best to double move away from that thing, and stampeeding / flocking a little.

one of the horses runs into a patch of some mucky quicksandy goo, and begins sinking immediately.

forsythe gets trampled by one of the horses, taking 1d6 ⇒ 2 damage.

May I have one retcon while I was away in that I have four life links up? I would typically place them with prayers at the start of each morning. If I may, then they are on Ash, Leo, Edwin and Neji. If they are then they heal 5HP each on my turn and I take those 5s.
