With the snakes now gone, the elephant comes back under control easily enough under the expert hands of Baron Rudyahm. Once the two nobles are no longer hanging on for dear life, they are able to communicate much more effectively. Baron Rudyahm congratulates you on your stunning and overwhelming victory that saved the lives of many of his porters by drawing the snakes attention to yourselves.
Meanwhile, Count Matsanda is surely and very much displeased that your first concern was not for their safety. The top of the howdah was very much unsecure and it would not have been long before the whole thing came crashing to the ground with him in it.
Favor point earned for Baron Rudyahm
It takes a bit before the hunting party is back in order, and then another couple of hours before a stream crosses paths with the trail.
"By jove, I do believe this is the place!" Baron Rudyahm exclaims as he takes a hard look around. "This is where that damned tiger ambushed us. We tracked it down that stream before we lost it. We need to go cross country from here." he declares.
At this declaration, Count Matsanda shakes his head in refusal. "With all of the regard that I have for you sir, I cannot stand any more excitement this day." he tells the Baron. The nobles move off for a quiet discussion, before the Baron returns to you alone. Count Matsanda will be taking the elephant and the rest of the hunting party on to the next lodge. The rest of us will forrge through the jungle to find the tigers nest."
I know this is a long post, so I will give yall a chance to catch up and react to things thus far before I move any further. Also, just to lend a hand here, why don't yall make some K. Nature or Survival checks for me?"

![]() |

Know: Nature: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Lorelei knows nothing about hunting and, like Muroi, is having a difficult time remembering anything about the jungle. "I trust you, Baron, not to lead me astray on my first sortie into the jungle." She smiles at the man.

GM DevilDoc |

The Baron shakes his head at Muroi's suggestion. "No, he is safe enough. There is a camp not too far up the trail he and the porters will shelter at until we return. Count Matsanda does not have much of a stomach for this type of thing. His battles rage in offices and government forums!"
With that, the Baron leads you into the jungle, following the stream for several miles. After several hours of hard hiking, the jungle opens up into a wide grassy clearing bisected by a shallow, burbling stream. In the center of the clearing lies the partially eaten carcass of a gaur. Its throat has been torn open, and the grass all around the dead bison is covered in dried, sticky blood.
Baron Rudyahm exclaims "This is it!! This has to be near the lair of the tiger." when he sees the fresh remains. "The tiger should return to finish its meal.. we will set up an ambush here."
The aging hunter instructs you on how to set up Machans- a type of portable hunter's blind- in the trees around the clearing. These are mounted 20 feet up in the lower branches of the trees, and camouflaged by branches and leaves. There are two of them, and each one can hold three individuals. Soon enough, they are set up, and the time to wait has come.
"Now.. once you are up there, you need to stay there. You don't want to meet an angry tiger in the long grass at night.. trust me!" Baron Rudyahm says with a dark chuckle. "These shelters won't give you any shelter from the beast, but it will hide you, and allow us the advantage of height!"
Ascending to the Machan is a DC 10 Climb check to use the rope ladder, or a DC 15 climb check without the ladder. The new slide is up, please place your tokens in the machan of your choosing. Baron Rudyahm is already in the one on the right.

Muroi easily fends off the mosquitoes, but the rest of the team seems to feel queasy and a little off.. like they may be coming down with something.

Eh, it happens! I hold no ill-will against GM's if a PC dies, unless it was an intentionally malicious act. Sometimes its just the way the die rolls. So far I've only had to PFS PC die (my first) and it was nearly a TPK during Defenders of Nesting Swallow.
