Good news...
Clearly not a morning person, Diego is still slow to stir. He's used to late nights and even later mornings, where he can sip his coffee and survey the typical bustle of Port of Peril. Plenty of people wake up early to discover tattoos, but no one rises with the sun to go get one. So his work is late and often leisurely. This miserable situation of being jostled awake at ungodly hours is rather unsettling.
The blockade that bars them access to the higher decks is more curious to the bard than frustrating, as it takes him a moment to realize what's really going on. For a few seconds, he seems to think that maybe they're all supposed to stay down here for the morning--most of the sailors have gathered at the top of the stairs, our small band hasn't gone anywhere. Maybe he can unfurl his hammock and sit back for a few more minutes before the day starts.
As soon as his friends start throwing fists, however, the morning fog begins to clear a bit.
He acts last in the initiative order, but I'll get this out there as not to hold things up.
Diego may be slow to join the fray, having taken his sweet time to recognize the tension. But with a smirk and a raspy morning voice he begins to chant a familiar songs, locking eyes with the yellowed Jape, who stands beside the portly Fipps--Diego's eyes fiery within those tattooed rings, revealing the sincerity of his threats.
A poor fat man came strolling by
And we say so, and we know so
A poor fat man with dogs beside
Oh poor fat man.
Says I, fat man, your dog will die
And we say so, and we know so
Says I, 'e's dead 'less he leaves your side
Oh poor fat man.
He'll be dead as a nail in the lamp room door
And we say so, and we know so
And he won't come worrying us no more
Oh poor fat man.
Hoist him up the mast, to hang beside
And we say so, and we know so
Then drop him down, beneath the tide
Oh poor fat man.
We'll sing him down with a long, long roll
And we say so, and we know so
Where the sharks'll have his body and Besmara have his soul
Oh poor fat man.

Alessandra |

Hm - I prefer "deck them all, take their stuff," but each to their own; and we're getting a little ahead of ourselves: we haven't won this yet, not by a long shot...

Lodestone |

Alessandra spins forward, ducking beneath Japes' i'll timed blow but exposing herself to strikes from Lonegan and Fipps who swing at her as she twirls past, their blows landing clean, striking Alessandra in the arm, and the jaw respectively (3+4=7 NL damage) but not stopping the half-orc's progress. She lands behind Fipps and, planting her feet firmly against the motion of the ship, launches a fist firmly into the pirate's kidneys. He grunts in pain and sways for a moment before Shaeda's follow-up blow drops him to the deck, unconscious.
Waiting on Bellara,
then the Pirates,
then Diego (already posted),
then Doc.
Japes AAO on Alessandra: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Lonegan AAO on Alessandra: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Fipps AAO on Alessandra: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Shaeda Stormborn |

With Alessandra going before Shaeda, she'd have done one less point of damage, so Fipps would still have been at 1. Thus Shaeda genuinely got the knockout blow (you go girl!). Now, next round Alessandra being aware that Shaeda's Freebooter's Bane is an option, she might wait, or ready, or whatever. I anticipate something like that becoming our regular battle rhythm once we get more used to one another

Bellara Aramassio |

With Fipps down, Bellara smirks as she turns her attention to the pirate to her right. She takes the time to smooth down her jacket where Fipps poked her as she stares the man coldly in the eye. "Jape, is it? I would hope that you think twice about your actions, lest you find yourself unexpectedly sleeping next to your friend here." The words are delivered softly enough, though her posture says otherwise as she hikes up her sleeves and balls her fists.
Intimidate/Demoralize: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Bellara stands with her fists raised in front of her at the ready, just waiting to see if her words sink into the thick-headed lad that decided to accost them today.
In the next moment, she lets her fist fly, aiming for Jape's chin.
Unarmed: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Sorry it took a while today, guys. Terribly busy getting ready for the Big Road Trip (with a car sick feline too). EDIT: I just read that demoralizing an opponent is a standard action, so consider her punch roll for the next round if that's okay.

Lodestone |

Japes looks down at the recumbent body of Fipps and pales visibly. This does not stop him, however, from launching his fists at Bellara, striking her in the chin. (2 NL). Meanwhile Lonnegan steps forward into the space vacated by Alessandra (d6) and tries to hit Rogar but his strike goes wide, missing the dwarf by inches.
The last pirate, Aretta snarls and aims a punch at Alessandra. The strike lands with a sickening crunch as her nose breaks and she falls to the floor unconscious (4 more NL damage from a crit). Aretta grins in satisfaction and spins to confront Shaeda. "You're next pipsqueak!"

Aretta rocks back as both Shaeda and Bellara's blows slam into her guts. In return she grimaces but manages a swing at Shaeda which somehow connects (4 NL). When it gets to Shaeda, if Aretta is still up, then she'll take a swing at Aretta. If that drops Aretta, then she'll take a move action to switch her Freebooter's Bane over to Lonnegan. If Aretta is not still up when it comes to Shaeda, then Shaeda will switch the Freebooter's Bane over to Lonnegan, take a 5 foot step to F5 and swing away. In either event, Shaeda will be attacking with Freebooter's Bane up, so her attacks are the same.
Shaeda looks to her adversaries and her allies, smiles and says, "just a friendly disagreement between shipmates right?".
Shaeda then commences to attack either Aretta or Lonnegan as described above.

Diego Vallenci |

With focused determination, Diego is intent on dissolving the will of the yellowed swab. His single-mindedness completely misses the assault that Alessandra endures. Damn it! He grits his teeth, cursing himself for failing to see the big picture.
But as Lonnegan closes the gap to continue the assault, Diego skirts around the outside of the scuffle. He's carefully working his way behind the stairs, over to where he can see the young half-orc's limp body.
He's mindful of the fight, but also trying to carefully watch the stairs to ensure that no one descends to quickly snatch her form. As he circles around, he continues the shanty he had heard so many times in the portside taverns. His voice rises to cover the distance, singing the faux lament of the poor fat man and his ill-fated dogs--how the fat man himself lies flat on the boards like a carpet and one of his hounds has taken flight.
Bardic Performance - Inspire Courage in allies. +1 to hit, +1 damage, +1 vs charm or fear

Rogar shouts at Lonnegan, but the man merely smiles, seeming to almost be encouraged by your words. Bellara snaps back at Aretta and attempts to strike her, missing. Suddenly, from the top of the stairs, the sound of Plugg's voice cuts through the crowd. "What the f*~#'s going on here?" he says as the crowd of sailors parts to let him through, the cowering form of Japes just behind. "Bloody Japes here's sayin' ye've been 'avin a fight, that you " (he indicates all of you)" tried t' jump 'I'm and some others. What the f&*#'s happening. You lot fightin?"
Almost immediately both Lonnegan and Aretta stand straight, their attitude seeming to show that they're innocent of anything. Aretta puts her hand companionably around Bellara's shoulder, and gives Japes an evil stare. "No Sir!" she says, "all that 'append was that I was thinking' that this one 'ere (she indicates Bellara) wasa nice looking boy, an' I asked 'er fer a kiss. That one (she indicates Alessandra) "got all jealous (ye see they're kissin' friends if ye know what i mean) an started t' come down the stairs. Bellara's eyes widen as she catches Shaeda's look. If the halfling thinks that I'm the one to talk ourselves out of this situation, she is sadly mistaken. Ah well, but one does what one is capable of.
Letting a smirk settle upon her lips, the Taldan girl casually reaches up to grab Aretta's arm draped around her. With the lacy frill at her sleeve falling over her hand, it hides her intent as she turns her hand inward and closes it around Aretta's flesh. Bell takes the opportunity to squeeze tightly, digging her nails in the woman's exposed forearm, silently reminding Aretta of the solid blows that she and Shaeda delivered quite recently. A semblance of truth would be the woman’s wiser course of action here, or there will be consequences.
She turns to stare coldly at Aretta, though her words are aimed at Plugg. "Sir, I believe that this woman's eyesight must still be plagued by sleep if she dreamed up such a scenario. Certainly none of what transpired involved kissing, jealousy, or anything of the sort. Your new crew members,” she pauses, her other hand indicating herself and her four other fellow captives, ”were merely stowing their hammocks away and getting ready for the day’s shift up top. Now, I’m certain that with this lady here being more than awake now, she will realize what she said and inform you of everyone’s intent to merely go about their duties which are of utmost importance here. Don't you agree?” She jostles Aretta's arm for emphasis.
"I mean, who has time for other things when there is so much work to be done on this ship. Am I right?" Another jostle.
Bellara flicks her gaze meaningfully at Shaeda as if to say that she has to do her part too.

Diego Vallenci |

Diego's voice trails off as Plugg's takes over. He was ready to speak up in their defense, but instead finds himself quite impressed by the imposing nature Bellara assumes. Besides, Diego isn't likely the man's favorite swab... so keeping his mouth shut for once might be the better choice.
Instead he approaches Lonnegan, carefully watching the oily man and brushing past him to drop beside the fallen Alessandra. He's not about to heal her while Plugg is watching... a trick he'd rather keep under wraps for the moment. But wants to make sure she isn't in need of immediate intervention, as such a concern would certainly constitute a higher priority than keeping his secrets.

Now get up on deck all've ya t' be given yer jobs fer the day. And you, Sandra," he says turning to the woman, "Go fetch Longfarthing. These two need patching' up. Go on all've ya!"

Soon after you are joined by Alessandra and Fipps, both of whom sport black eyes, but are at least on their feet after the ship's alchemist, Peppery Longfarthing's ministrations. Alessandra is aware that she absolutely has to get Plugg to think of her as co-operative, and so overlook her. She can't sneak around if he thinks she's a troublemaker - he'll always be on the lookout for her.
Looking as submissive as possible, she promises that the bilges will be cleaner than they've ever been and that she does want to be a pirate and that she hopes she can learn from him, etc etc. Basically an attempt to be thought of as a 'good girl'...
Bluff check: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 3 + 1 = 24
Hope that works, think it's my highest roll so far!
Aware that the bilges are filthy, she unwinds her pink scarf from around her neck and hands it to Diego before they all go their separate ways "You remember how this goes, right?"
Down in the bilges, alone for the first time in days, she takes off her crimson leather jerkin and rolls up her sleeves. Her grey arms make her orc ancestry impossible to hide; she can just about get away with it when it's just her face on display, since her hair is dark enough that anyone's skin would look pale by comparison.

It's hard going alone, but Alessandra puts her back into it and fulfils her promise to Plugg: the bilges are swabbed, washed out, re-swabbed. Again, her natural resilience shows out - even after a fight, she still has the stamina for the task.

Bellara smirks at Aretta's comment half a beat before she makes an elegant salute at Plugg once he gives his orders, her long fingers grazing her temple. "Aye Sir, main sail it is!" she says with gusto before ambling off toward the main mast. After barely scraping by on explaining the fight from this morning, she aims to work well to not draw any further attention to herself.
The thick ropes at the mast's base serve as good handholds and footholds for Bellara to start her climb. Thankfully fortified by that thin stew last night, she climbs steadily, avoiding looking too closely at the gaudy designs on the clock she encounters. The Taldan girl does, however, make note of the time. She aims to go exploring once she finds the proper opportunity to do so.
After her previous attempts with other members of the crew, Bell is delighted to be working alone. She even hums to herself as she works, idly raking her hair back when the wind tries to whip it into knots. Thankful that the work of furling and unfurling the main sail by herself didn't tire her out, she decides to do a bit of reconnaissance. Feeling daring, Bellara slips away to explore an area of the ship.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Depending on Rogar's answer re: influence vs. exploring the store, Bell will check out either the Quatermaster's Store or the Captain's Cabin, A5. Question: as a rigger, why do the checks change at times from Acrobatics to Strength?

Alessandra |

Did we talk to one another beforehand to share plans?
A girl gets bored. Alessandra certainly started with the intention of doing a decent job and not drawing unwelcome attention to herself, but as the sheer scale of the task makes itself clear, her enthusiasm wanes. And besides, it's a bit of a let-down after the excitement of the morning, even if it did leave her with a broken nose (since healed). "My head is bloody, but unbowed..." she mutters to herself. Duck next time. Actually, next time, don't go whirling into the middle! Can't protect anyone if you're out cold on the floor.
The fact that she's alone gives her some time to think things through, to try and get her head straight again after the last couple of days. But introspection's not her greatest talent either.
Finally... "Right, that's enough. 'S supposed to be some water here anyway. Doubt they'll even notice the difference." Putting her jacket back on - and covering her bare arms - Alessandra ponders her next move. An entire ship to explore! Where to start? Prob'ly best to stay away from the main deck - Plugg's expecting her to be down here. What about the lower decks? She grins (allowing herself a full display of her teeth, since she's alone) as she realises that Plugg and Scourge's cabin is next to the galley - easy to sidle in on the way to getting a quick drink ... it's thirsty work, down in the bilges!
Sneak into room A7 - single Perception check, no chance of discovery
Perception: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 + 3 + 1 = 20

The crew is rushed up to the main deck before Diego has the opportunity to heal Alessandra discreetly. Luckily Ms. Longfarthing is being retrieved. So Diego pats the young half-orc on the shoulder lightly before rising. "You did well. Perhaps I can heal more this evening. he whispers, as if she can hear him.
---------------------------
Diego feigns flattery when Plugg remembers his name. "Aw... the rest of the crew thought you didn't care." He quips with a grin, but trails off quickly remembering that he ought to lay low a bit longer still.
Aware that the bilges are filthy, she unwinds her pink scarf from around her neck and hands it to Diego before they all go their separate ways "You remember how this goes, right?"
The tattooed man clicks his tongue, folding the scarf into something he can keep easily while he works. "Particular about this I'm gathering." he says with a nod. "If they kill me for it, I expect you to avenge my death." He turns to head off to his own job, but stops about two steps away to amend that last statement. "And when people tell the tale, I'd appreciate it if you make it sound like a killed some of them myself."

Swab Check (Con): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Influence Check (Diplomacy with Cog): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Right on. Take me to the high-rollers table before this wave crashes.
"You seem a man that appreciates good stories of awful men. Diego voices to the man in the blue bandanna as they mop. "Which every tale on the high seas is, right? It's a harsh reality to live, but it's a damn exciting story to tell. Do you know of any yourself? I'm always looking for more to add to my arsenal, and the darker ones get the best mileage."

No. It's only 1 daytime action.... Store or influence. In your position as cooks assistant you can try to influence Fishguts unless otherwise stated (like today).
Ah, so the Quartermaster cannot be influenced then? I guess nobody works with Grok, and being officer he cannot be influenced with nighttime action...
In any case, Rogar visits the store, trying to get his alchemy gear back

Ah, so the Quartermaster cannot be influenced then? I guess nobody works with Grok, and being officer he cannot be influenced with nighttime action...
Depending on the jobs you are given and what Grok does at night, there will be opportunities to influence her.
...as a rigger, why do the checks change at times from Acrobatics to Strength?
The checks you make depend on the specific job you are allocated each day.
Shaeda:
You spend the day running messages throughout the ship, constantly on the move and dodging the busy crew members as they go about their tasks. Although you seem to manage to get in everyone's way, and are aching with tiredness by the and of the day, you and Rosie do manage to sneak a few moments of sport, competing to run the length of the ship and cracking jokes with each other. You seem to get on very well, seemingly having had some similar experiences as halflings throughout your lives. At your question Rosie answers: "Well f~!& me! The some've the f~*#ing fish-f$*!in braggarts aboard this bloody poor excuse fer a ship aren't so f%~$ing bad. All ya got t' do is keep yer head down an' try t' keep out've the way of those bloody a#@@$&+s Scourge and Plugg. The group've ya handled herself OK below ship in that f**+ing fist fight. Everyone gets that treatment at some point - Scourge puts 'em up to it although he seems t' not like you lot one f@~*ing bit! If I were you I'd tell that fancy-looking lad Diego t' watch his f**&ing mouth though if he doesn't want t' end up facing the lash pretty f&!#ing soon! If ye want respect from the crew ye gotta stand up fer yourselves and make sure you don't tattle like that stinking bloody rat Japes. You just wait'n see the shit he's got himself in to!" (Rosie now 'helpful', You failed the task and are fatigued.)
Alessandra:
The vile work cleaning out and pumping water out of the hot, stinking bilges leaves you sweaty and stinking of fetid water. Despite your promise to work hard, you find the loneliness and the stinking heat get to you and the water seems higher by the end of the day than when you started. You do manage to slip out of the bilges at one point and head to Scourge and Plugg's door, but find it locked with what looks like a pretty good lock. You can select another area if you like, but many of the more 'interesting' areas are likely to be locked too.You can use this action to quickly check which areas are accessible and which are locked instead of actually searching an area if you want. (You failed the task but are not fatigued)
Rogar:
You gather up a harpoon and nets and retreat to the front of the ship in an attempt to catch sea turtles for the evening meal. Your aim, however, is poor and, by day's end, you've only caught one small sea turtle, barely enough for the captain alone - certainly not enough for the other officers and crew. Sighing, you make your way to the quartermaster's store to find out about your equipment. There you find "Cut-Throat Grok, a reedy half-orc with a huge scar across her neck. She's wearing dark leather clothes and, unlike most of the common sailors, carries weapons at all times - throwing axes at her belt. As you enter the room, a cramped crowded space containing numerous barrels, boxes and chests Grok looks up Eh, I was wondering' when one of yous'd come down, new crew always do. Ye want somethin' that we took of ya when ye came aboard I'm thinkin? Well ye can buy whatever ye want - 'cept we took yer coins too didn't we. Ha - looks like yer going t' have t' find a way t' get some gold then doesn't it? I'll be here most've th' time so ye can come back when ye' got somethin' t' pay with. Tell yer what. Yer Fishgut's helper aint ya? Well he and I go back a long way - tonight if yer do all the cooking, and make it bloody good too, then ye can have somethin' from the store fer free - I feel like getting rat-arsed tonight and Fishgut's is the only bugger who can keep up." (You failed the task, but can make an DC 14 Int or Proffession (cook) check to get one piece of equipment and a DC 10 Con check to avoid becoming fatigued after your long day's work if you agree to Grok's deal.)
Bellara:
The day's work of raising and lowering the mainsail by yourself passes easily enough, despite having to do the work all by yourself. You even have time to slip off and visit another area of the ship Let me know where you're going. (You succeeded at the task and are not fatigued).
Diego:
You spend the day on the backbreaking task of mopping the decks and scrubbing them down with sandstone blocks called holystones. As you work you chat away with Cog, exchanging stories of past exploits. He certainly seems to relish tales of dark humour and violence, and by the end of the ship seems to have warmed to you considerably. (Cog now 'friendly', you succeeded at the task and are not fatigued)
ALL
At the end of the day the day the ship's bell chimes and the crew assemble once again on the deck to receive their food and rum ration, and the crew find stools and spaces on the deck to relax, talk and carouse, once again far into the night.... You can all decide what you're going to do with the rum (see Campaign Info tab if you've forgotten) and take nighttime actions (also in the Campaign Info tab). Remember to adjust your will save as appropriate and to note if you're fatigued for the next day unless you go to sleep early.

Shaeda Stormborn |

On the road with the family, so real quick, Shaeda being fatigued will take the opportunity to make apologies and hit the rack early tonight. She'll drink the grog ration normally. She'll relay to folks that Rosie is a good sort and her warning to Diego.

Bellara Aramassio |

I had it in the OOC bit in my last post. If Rogar was checking the store, then Bell was going to check the Captain's Quarters. :)

I had it in the OOC bit in my last post. If Rogar was checking the store, then Bell was going to check the Captain's Quarters. :)
The captain spends almost all his time in his quarters and interlopers are likely to be treated.... harshly. Being caught in there alone,... well let's just say it would not be nice at all!. Also see my post to Alessandra (above). Are you sure you want to try the captains quarters?

Alessandra |

The tattooed man clicks his tongue, folding the scarf into something he can keep easily while he works. "Particular about this I'm gathering." he says with a nod.
Alessandra looks at Diego, unsure of how much to tell him. "It was my mother's," she eventually says, with a flat stare.
"If they kill me for it, I expect you to avenge my death. And when people tell the tale, I'd appreciate it if you make it sound like a killed some of them myself."
The tall, pale girl's lips twitch in what might be the beginning of an idea of a smile. You'll do. Maybe. "That depends on whether you bled on it in the process, doesn't it? And I always try and pin my kills on someone else - only amateurs brag." The dry tone of her voice makes it hard to know if she's joking.
----------------------------------
Hot, sweating, and now frustrated, Alessandra swears luridly at the locked door. She decides to risk going on deck and check which areas are locked - and trapped.
Perception for traps: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 20
My understanding was the same as Bell's - we get 1 free skill check without risk of discovery. If there are areas that DOESN'T apply to, don't be shy in letting us know!
------------------------------------
The bruises and hard work from earlier today have left Alessandra feeling tetchy. Her mood is not improved by the way that her friends are ignoring her and going to bed early. She was going to dump the grog and go have a look round ship, but if no one else can be bothered, why should she? Fine. Be like that. She drinks the grog. And another. Maybe she'll have another, in a bit. Hey, it keeps away scurvy, right? 'S practically good for you, then.
Will save penalty: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Will save vs addiction: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 3 = 7
Just realised that the rules say that you can use Sleight of Hand as a Performance - would you allow that?
Sleight of Hand Performance check: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 1 + 3 + 3 = 22
If one of you can manage a DC10 Dex check to Aid Another, that's +2 to the total
As the grog hits her system, the half-orc girl rouses herself out of her sulk, stands up and addresses those of her companions who haven't gone off to bed and left her alone, the lazy ************. "Alright, I'm bored - which of you wants to learn to juggle?"
I'll narrate the rest in a bit- I'm posting in between proof-reading a dissertation (not mine!) that's due in later today... More later. Possibly MUCH later.

Hot, sweating, and now frustrated, Alessandra swears luridly at the locked door. She decides to risk going on deck and check which areas are locked - and trapped.
Perception to look find out which doors are locked (you can check all of them for free without a roll 'cause I'm nice). Another perception for each door you search for traps (so more than one'd take you past the 1 free check). As for the doors, you quickly find out that the following doors are currently locked (assuming you go with that option):
* All the doors to the Captain's cabin.
* The door to Scourge and Plugg's cabin.
* The Gunpowder store.
* The Armoury.
* Peppery's lab.
Just realised that the rules say that you can use Sleight of Hand as a Performance - would you allow that?
I have no problem with that.

Fair enough! I've spent the whole day doing a timeline and budget for my thesis... boring!

Taking Grogs deal
Profession(Cook): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Busy now, will update later...

(you can check all of them for free without a roll 'cause I'm nice). Another perception for each door you search for traps (so more than one'd take you past the 1 free check).
Thanks, DM! You are nice. Girl could take advantage - good thing I'm nice too ;) I'll just do the one free check this time. Getting knocked out earlier has made Alessandra cautious; it won't last.
Alessandra never intended to find herself on the main deck; it just sort of happened (story of her life, she admits to herself, wryly). One moment she was swearing at the locked door to Plugg's cabin, and the next she was going from one door to the next to see which of them were locked. She knows she shouldn't be here; she will check one door to see how interesting it is and then she'll run for it.
The alchemist's laboratory is singing a siren song that only she can hear: secret knowledge, illicit drugs, danger, excitement - how can a girl resist a seduction like that?
Perception on entrance to Longfarthing's lab, checking for traps: 1d20 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 24
Job done, she flees back to the safety - and monotony - of the bilge pump.
--------------------
Bellara - if Alessandra sees you on deck and you tell her you're going to check out the captain's cabin, she will (i) resist the urge to clonk the young Taldan over the back of the head; and (ii) inform her that it's locked: "Best try elsewhere, I reckon; I ain't going up against Harrigan to rescue you from a keel-hauling! Girl's gotta know her limits. You should know yours, too - you're not the sneaky type. 'S one of the things I like about you." It's noticeable how much her speech patterns are coming to mimic those about her - either camouflage or a reversion to her gutter state. It's not clear which.
Aware that sweating, annoyed and nervous is not a good look (not that her best is much, either), the girl reluctantly breaks the conversation and hurries away.
--------------------
Diego - have shamelessly stolen (Rogue, OK?) your idea of breaking the posts up into intervals ("---"). Works nicely.
--------------------
Will do an update with details of her evening performance later - lots of shorter posts is easier than 1 long one right now. Hope it's not too muddled. Posting between proofreading chapters keeps me sane.
