So the bodega are you going in gun's blazing? According to what Carl saw there may only be few folks (2-5) there. Or are you taking a more subtle approach? Perhaps ambushing a lone Slasher Mind-controlling them to find Slasher Central and .....?

Setting: According to Carl, unless he does not want to tell, the bodega is in the middle of a long block on INSERT POLITICAL LEADER HERE avenue between INSERT REVOLUTIONARY HERE street and INSERT REVOLUTIONARY HERE street.

The street names are, like the weather, up to you.

The block is made up of a long line of 5-8 story buildings facing each other across the two-lane avenue. A narrow alley bisects the block a building south of the bodega. As far as Carl could tell most of the buildings on the block are occupied.

Sweet. This a big place? If not, I'll just be visible. Close quarters and negotiations rarely go well for invisible aces-up-sleeves. Mind you, the Slashers....maybe kinda sorta might remember me. Doubtful, I never was a massive thorn in their side, but I wasn't really on their side much...sort of...occasionally....ever. heh. I'll just stay invisible and hope for the best. :)

It is not that big

Having been made aware of the smallness of the drug den, Imagine turns off her invis, and walks behind Carl and Rigor.

Just verifying,

Imagine you are walking into the Slashers place of business wearing a clearly active Z-belt and with your clearly visible Armor power active?

Carl Where are the nullifier cuffs and V'sori survival belts? Are you wearing one?

The inside of the drug-mart is as inviting as the outside promised. Dirty standing shelves crowd a single isle leading towards the counter at the back. A second isle bisects this one in the middle of the shop.

Damaged advertisements and occasional 'pin-ups' cover the walls. The floor is sticky, the smell is a mix of rot and chemistry.

The room is a rectangle about 6" X 18".

The door to the outside (call the outside east for convenience) is in the middle of one of the long sides. The east wall is waist to ceiling windows covered over with old posters.

The north and South walls are lined with shelves. These shelves like the ones in the establishment are largely empty save for some random mix of junk and the remains of the shop's stock.

The west wall has a some refrigerated cabinets, the register counter, and a closed fire door.

There is a young woman at the counter. She has a nasty cut down one cheek. It is not bleeding but it is fresh.

There are two obvious Slashers in the room. One behind the counter with the girl, the other by the fire door. The two men are a study in contrasts. The one near the door is bald, clean, and so still you wonder if he is dead. The other near the girl has lank dirty hair a filthy brown jacket and is twitching. Were it not for the vibrosword over his shoulder you would have begged him as a customer. The man near the door is also armed with the Slashers favorite vibro-toys. Two knives in his case supplemented by two grenades hooked into his immaculate combat webbing. One of the explosives is clearly of V'sori make.

--------------------------------
You enter
--------------------------------

The store goes silent same for the rattle of the twiching man's hand on the counter.

{Do they recognize Carl or Imagine? I don't know, I think I will leave that decision up to Carl. Carl do any of these friendly folks recognize you or Imagine?}

Carl and Imagine see a large man (seemingly almost as wide as tall) enter the store right behind them. He's wearing a soft fedora pulled low, sunglasses, a scarf wrapped around most of his face and a trenchcoat. He doesn't carry any visible weapons but does have a battered motorcycle helmet tucked under one massive arm.

Except for his size and odd manner of dress he appears to be normal except for the bits of flesh you can see that are not hidden by the scarf or what you can see of his hands. His skin and palms are stone like, dull grey and cracked. If anything, they probably remind you of how gargoyles were portrayed in the 4D movies that were all the rage before the invasion.

In a low gravely voice he says, "a mutual friend sent me to give you a hand. Whatcha want with these punks?" he adds pointing to the two men with his helmet.

And a great big smile on my face! When ganger boys see a babelicious girl they immediately think about doing unwholesome things with her, with or without her consent, preferably without. When they see that she's dressed like a skank (which I _am_), they think that yet even more.
But if she's dressed like a skank _and_ has some serious hardware on her person, they know, on a conscious level, that she's here more for business than pleasure...but they'll still think about the pleasure side of that.
Wearing the armor simply answers the "can we rape her?" initial question, so that discourse can continue.

to Carl and Rigor: Let's just start with 'Hello, I liked those drugs. These are my friends and they want to tell you how awesome you are,' and go from there. I want to get past the first five minutes without getting stabbed...or having to force someone to stab themselves. Both are bad for business.

As the 4D gargoyle gravels out a greeting, he sees the statuesque girl in skin-tight white spandex turn her head halfway in his direction. She's definitely not staring at him, but he knows that his message was heard.

Words. Light, sweet, feminine words form in his head, though her mouth remains ever un-moving.

to Carl, Rigor, and the tall, dark, and blobular gentleman: Well hello there! Aren't you the cutest little big thing I've seen all day! My name's Imagine and the totally normal-looking guy to my front is Carl, and the female body-builder is Rigor. What may we call you?
A mutual friend, eh? Has this mutual friend possibly graduated from a formal medical school? Has a lot of skin problems so he's covered in metal? We're good buds, he and I. Shared a laugh. Shared a smile.

We're new to the neighborhood, just moved out of a shared multi-plex. The rent was low and the food was free, but the dorm-managers were real aliens about curfew, and big nazis about security.

We're gonna talk to these good, hard-working boys about possible employment opportunities to fund our take-over of this city and eventual genocide of the V'Sori race. You in?

And when I say 'talk' to 'them' about 'employment', I mean, I'll let them tell me everything they know about where to find their boss and suppliers, and I'll not have them rip out their own tongues.

So it's a win-win! Go team! ;)

How exactly Imagine is able to make a telepathic emoticon is not yet fully understood.

With a loud crash, the motorcycle helmet drops from the big man's hand as he's stunned to hear a female voice talking to him from inside of his head. Jud claps both hands to his head and thinks as hard as he can at the female voice, essentially screaming inside his own mind KILL ONE AND THE OTHERS WILL TALK. FASTER THAT WAY. MAKE THEM FEAR US AND THEY WILL RESPECT US.

Moving carefully trying not to alarm the punks with the blades, Jud grabs his helmet off the floor with one hand while he stuffs his battered fedora into his coat pocket with the other. Then using both hands, he jams the helmet down over his misshapen head and finally slips his right hand into his coat pocket, sliding his fingers through the holes of his brass knuckles as he's done so many times before. Besides that he does not move, waiting to see how things play out the next few minutes.

As the interplay between her 'leader' & this new meat plays out, the statuesque half breed closes her eyes, shaking her head fractionally in a combination of bemusement & the kind of incredulity you only get when you witness Imagine doing things that by all rights should get her killed...

"Why you want to go into business running a crappy grocery store like this place, bud?" Jud asks Carl in honest confusion. "Look at this place...they ain't got almost any foods. Whoever they gets their supplies from sucks." Jud shakes his head at the foolish idea for a money making business his new comrades have. HEY BRAIN GIRL...WOULDNT IT BE EASIER TO JUST STEAL MONEY THAN RUN A GROCERY STORE?, Jud mentally shouts at Imagine (not yet grasping the concept of telepathic volume control).

Imagine hangs her head, trying desperately to keep her cracking smile from turning into a full blown guffaw. The whole situation is just hilarious, but...she doesn't think she could explain the joke properly, so she just goes the 'salvage and explain' route.

to all the party: No, no, no, You great big, big great...Blob. It's a drug house. A house that sells drugs. They sell drugs, from this place. They don't sell any food. They sell drugs, to people, who come here, looking for drugs.
They are part of a gang. Drugs are one part of their business, but not all, or even most.
Yes, killing them would be _faster_, but I'm trying to do this so that most of the gang actually wants to join, rather than goes along just to remain un-killed.
Also, headless corpses that are ripped open as if exposed to an industrial shredder tend to draw the attention of the V'Sori...

...

...which is bad. :)

Jud reaches up to scratch his grey skin covered head but forgets he's wearing a helmet so all he accomplishes his hitting himself in the head. HEY GIRL VOICE...I'LL BUY THAT BUT STILL VOTE FOR KILLING ONE, suddenly Jud's volume drops as he begins to get the hang of this telepathy idea, but we can try it your way. Slower though.

The man at the fire door blinks.

The woman behind the counter does not move.

The twitching man walks around to the front of the counter.

As of this moment everyone is assumed to be on hold. If you wish to interrupt someone or take violent action please include an Agility roll with your post.

The twitching man speaks to Carl, his voice stuttering like his body twitches.
"You come in here..."
"You come in here, to our place of business, and you call us punks! You try to muscle in...On our turf...In our city"
"You come in here thinking we would be afraid because you brought some muscle. Well druggie, you can take your pus-pile (indicating Judd) your Sex-on-a stick (Imagine), and the rest of your toy harem and crawl back into whatever comic book you came out of. We are not interested."
"We are the g+$~+@ned Slashers! The f---ing V'sori are afraid of us! You are nothing! So you get the hell out of my sight or I'll chop off your g!+!%*..d legs."

{I am assuming the following positioning. Carl and Rigor in front then Imagine with Judd and Snake Charmer to her left and right. More ot less in the middle of the store where the two isles cross. Carl/Rigor are no more than 2-3" from the counter with the rest of you an inch or 2 further back. The door is +-6" behind Imagine and the Fire door (and baldy) about 4" ahead and about the same to the right of Rigor/Carl Please correct me if this is not how you see things.}

Imagine, he does not appear to recognize you but you are pretty sure that the twitching man used to be part of your crew. His name was Harold but everyone called him "Itchy" due to his horrible skin issues. You could swear this was him except Itchy didn't stutter and he was maybe 5'2". This guy clears 6'3" easy.

bennies 4/4 wounds 3/3 fatigue 2/2

There's no reason anyone would have paid any attention to the 5' Persian woman that slipped in behind Judd. She was not much bigger than one of his arms, after all. Maybe it is odd that she is wearing a hijab with a western style business suit, with a knee length skirt and heels, but in this room, it is no more odd than her cat eye glasses.

She seems to be trying to choose between one of the two cans of soup on the shelves, but no sane civilian could miss the rising threat of violence in the room. Nervously, she tugs at the scarf that covers her head, and clears her throat.

"You-know-who sent me," she mutters under her breath, when she is near to Imagine.

She strolls down the aisle to the side of the store. Looking for a spot to use my eyes from that keeps our people out of the cone, and as many of theirs as possible in it.

Well then. So much for that idea...

As 'Twitchy' begins his schpeil & 'miss middle East' slithers up to Imagine, the muscle freak steps into 'Twitchy's' personal space. "Now why you gotta be like that?"
"Calling me part of his,"
nodding to Carl, "harem? Really?"

To all the party: 'Sex on a stick?' Seriously? Who says that anymore? What does that even mean?

@Roxana: Sweet, feminine words, the kind that might, in another reality, would tell you to 'Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, it off off off' form in your head, though the lips of the bodacious chick in the white spandex and quarter-torso jean-shrug never move: Honey, you picked a hell of a time to make with the meet'n'greet. Normally I'd make some witty intro and then you'd forget to tell me your name, and then I'd make fun of you and we'd laugh about it, but we're gonna have to but that bonding moment on the back burner. Imagine's got to go to work right now.

Imagine takes a little step forward.

to everyone in the room:'Scuse me. Pardon me. Oh hi there, everyone! My name is Imagine, aaaaaand, I'm back!

Her eyes focus on the twitchy man.

still to everyone:What's wrong, Harold? Not happy to see me? That hurts me. It hurts my feelings. Oh come on now! We had a lot of good times together! Remember, back in the day, there was another guy also named Harold, but he was Asian, so we all called him 'Harold-chan' to tell you apart? Remember that one day he thought he got shorted on his cut, so he pulled a knife on me. It was kind of the same size of that thing you got there. Anyway, he pulls this thing and yells 'Imma cut your t1ts off!' and then he runs at me!

And he got about two steps in and then he just stops and drops to his knees. And he turns that knife around in his grip and the blade starts moving toward him, like he's trying to gut himself, but real slow? And then he starts screaming 'No no no! I got kids! I'm a family man! I'm sorry Imagine, I didn't mean it! I'm so, so sorry! OH GOD NO!' and then his own hands, holding his own knife, stab him in the gut, and then drag that thing left, and then up, until he's ripped his own heart out? He was alive the whole time, right until the end. Remember that? I bet he did his ancestors proud!

So, why don't you take your hands away from your fraking blade before I get TWO stories about Harolds that I MADE DISEMBOWEL THEMSELVES!!!

I just broke out of V'Sori-fraking-jail, and I'm here to talk _business_. You remember making money, Harold? So everyone just take a chill-pill and let's talk about kickingass and making money.

She turns her gaze towards Baldy. Unless we need a quick demonstration? How 'bout it, Big Guy? Will you let me make you rip your own heart out so everyone else knows that I'm serious? Or do you wanna un-cross your arms and maybe NOT experience something that your best buds have nightmares about for the rest of their lives? =)

Thanks for the clearing up of the things. As far as the Aoo... well that is what the Agility roll is for. Aoo's don't really exist in SW except when one tries to leave melee. Resolution happens once I get everyone's actions and agility rolls so I know what happens when and to whom.

As the situation dissolves, Roxana pulls the scarf off of her head, revealing her writhing, scaly green hair. Snakes, rather. She glares at the gangsters, clenching her teeth and for the blink of an eye, her moderately pretty face turns unspeakably hideous.

Trying out that eye attack, catching who I can without getting our people. Vigor checks at -2. I imagine Judd may be keeping one of them out of harm's way.

With Rigor comes the resolution.

Not sure if you are waiting on an agility roll from me, or an action declaration...
Agility: 1d6 ⇒ 5, wild die: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Her size & mass interfering with the speed of her own response to the inevitable violence, still, Rigor slams a fist into 'twitchy's' jaw.

fighting: 1d12 ⇒ 6, wild die: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Hi Rigor - you also need to roll for damage

After a successful close combat or ranged hit, the attacker rolls damage. Ranged weapons do fixed damage as listed in the Gear section. Most pistols, for example, cause 2d6 damage.
Hand weapons cause damage equal to the attacker’s Strength die plus a second die, which depends on the weapon. A barbarian with a d12 Strength and a long sword (d8 damage) rolls d12+d8 damage. Even though Strength is used to determine melee damage, this isn’t a Trait roll. Wild Cards don’t add a Wild Die to the roll and they can’t spend Bennies if they’re unhappy with the results.
All damage rolls can Ace.
► Unarmed Combat Damage: An unarmed combatant rolls only his Strength die.
► Bonus Damage: Well-placed attacks are more likely to hit vital areas, and so do more damage. If your hero gets a raise on his attack roll (regardless of how many raises), he adds +1d6 to the final total. This roll may also Ace!

Order of resolution. Judd, Imagine & Twitchy (simultaneous), Rigor, Carl & Baldy & the Woman behind the counter (simultaneous), Roxanna.

Resolution One.

Judd
With a guttural yell Judd simply smashes through the light shelves standing between him and the counter. The young woman's shotgun barely clears the counter before Judd's knuckleduster smashes into her chest and sends her {knockback, raise: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3. Extra Knockback damage due to wall: 1d6 ⇒ 1 through the interior wall behind her. This reveals both a second Room and at least one very startled Slasher within it.
{Total damage 18. Woman through the wall is no longer taking an interest in the proceedings}

Imagine & Twitchy
{Baldy's resistance roll vs.9: 1d4 ⇒ 1} Sigh no grenades for you.
{Twitchy's attempt to cut off your leg, called shot limb, MAP for readying weapon, vs Parry of 4: 1d10 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 - 2 = 5, Slice: 1d12 + 2 + 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + (2) + 2 = 18ace: 1d12 ⇒ 4 for a total of 22AP2. Toughness 6 reduced to 5 by AP means 4 wounds incoming (9,13,17,21). The Z-belt takes one wound with it as the field collapses which leaves 3 wounds for you to deal with.

Baldy's mind shatters like a stale fortune cookie and you have the pleasure of seeing him kneel before you. And then your world disintegrates in pain and blood.

Imagine, do not respond until AFTER Roxanne has posted her revised action!

Rigour
{Attack on Twitchy, Gang up w/ Imagine, Carl, and Judd total 9 vs. parry 7. You didn't call the shot specifically so giving you the benefit of the doubt here and considering it a normal attack for a hit with no raise. Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 9 vs. Toughness 8, Twitchy is shaken.}

The left to his jaw and the solid right to his belly rocks the Slasher back on his heels. But it feels more like hitting a sandbag than anything human.

Carl
{Carl I am allowing you to switch targets to Twitchy. Let me know if that is what you desire. {Shot is a hit and a raise for 17 vs toughness 8 for 2 wounds (12,16)}

Two thunderclaps one on top of the other and Twitchy's sword rattles to the dirty floor, his hand finally still beside it.

Roxanne
{your choice, Stone Baldy or do nothing. There are no targets you can hit w/o friendly fire. I suppose you could try through the hole Judd made but Judd would be risking stoning. Your call.

As Twitchy comes down with a two-handed strike straight for Imagen's Brachial artery, (That was what would've been cut if the blow landed. Main arteries are kind my thing. Just ask Jud. ;)) a wisp of hair gets caught in Imagine's eye. As she brings up her hand to flick it away, Twichy's swing goes wide. Imagine doesn't get to relish whatever look was on his face as Carl's hogleg make's its presence known.

Imagine goes immediately, delving into Baldy's mind.

to all in sight:Awww, poor Harold has been to the gym. That's so sad. He must've spent hours and hours in pain and sweat and self-deprivement only to have all of that taken away by one man with a steady hand and a gun.
Oh well.
Now, Baldy, we're going to get to be _very_ close friends as you tell me all of your deepest, darkest secrets, as well as misery unnameable to calling me all those hurtful things.
But first we're going to start with a very easy question: What's the layout of this building and do you have any friends around?

The Mind Reading command is to Baldy, but it's a rider on the general frequency so everyone knows what question is being asked. As soon as he answers, she relays the answer to the rest of the party.

What card are you acting as? You have a joker remember. I will assume Queen of hearts as it does not matter in this case but please remember in the future.

Carl attempts (again) to ghost --- spirit and wild: 1d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 4

Then he moves past Baldy, through the door, looking to see who is there.

Imagine, I'm gonna check out what's beyond the door, now that you've got Ball-less -- I mean Baldy on his knees.

Judd surprised to see yet another room and another Slasher pulls one of his grenades from his jacket, pulls the pin and throws it into the other room.

Oh, that's a good idea... ;)

Spend a Benny to reroll throw roll

Throw: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Wild: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3

Seriously?...spend 2nd Benny

Throw: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Wild: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Total of 6
