I am buying two-fisted so I can actually fight as a samurai should with their daisho properly. I will have no penalties now for fighting with my daisho. So no more rapid attacks, just plain double swings. Next advancement I will be taking ki powers, because those sound awesome.
Elegad Espris
I haven't looked into those, but that sounds pretty cool. :)
I've got the concept of a Free-Handed Fighter who can take a beating with Elegad, though I'll need to have a look at what weapons are available. A Falchion sounds cool, or something that can be wielded in one hand.
Are there rules to fight with a two-handed weapon one handed, but with penalties?
Fujiwara Kimiko
@Mike: Yea they are form the book you recommended, if you don't wish me to use those that's fine. I can use some other form of magic instead. To be fair though ki is not as good as some other magic styles as I can only cast beneficial effects on myself and the offensive attacks are restrictive unless I take another gift on top of it. The upside is they can't backfire.
@Elegad: Not that I know off but you would probably take a hefty penalty for doing that in savage worlds.
Elegad Espris
Just roll again. :)
@Kimiko - Ha, we keep typing at the same time, with my post going through after yours, so I've edited mine to correspond and react to your IC actions.
As for the weapon, I thought as much but it would be fine because I'd only use it for flavour anyway. As for weapons and armour, I'll just go with what I'm told, as I collect weapons and equipment from enemies we face.
I'm not sure what kind of magic items/weapons/armour we'd get from future enemies though, unless they're remaining more or less the same, only being converted to work better with the Savage World's game type.
Elegad Espris
Finally home! Now I can post and try to prevent you all from taking the Hippogriff to the Citadel. :p
Reasons incoming via IC. :)
Elegad Espris
Same as me. It's like this for most weekends forme though as it's the only time I can see my girlfriend.
I love the campaign though and hope this will run until the end. :D
Elegad Espris
I know things are going slower but I really enjoy this campaign so I'm hoping we'll get to the end of this one day. :D
Mike - I like your GM'ing style so congrats on that and thanks for running this!
Kimiko - I like the relationship El and you seem to have going on, even though the boy can be seen as rude and disgusting to an honourable character like yours.
Mirian - On holiday I know, but you roleplayed something and although against it, El eventually caved in and listened to reason, but was honest to Cressada, even though he felt his honesty would deprive him of his dream.
Vlaka - I got nothing, but welcome aboard. :)
Elegad Espris
Just changed my skills.
So I didn't have one skill point floating around doing nothing, I've dropped his Streetwise down from a d8 to a d6, then spent those 2 points to raise my climbing to a d4, then d6, so his climb, notice and streetwise are all the same...which kinda shows his lifestyle in a way.
I was considering dropping Fighting, but I've already used that a lot so it didn't make sense to drop. :)
Elegad Espris
Also, we have gold? I didn't think we had found anything but the cameo. IF so, how much did we get please guys? I'd like to write it down, though I have no knowledge of what gear we can buy etc, as I doubt ring of featherfall/jumping or +1 Keen Weapons exist in the Savageworlds...world. :p
mikeawmids
Magic/Masterwork items are less common that they are in Pathfinder, but they are around, although you will normally have to find them or recover them from fallen enemies, rather than simply purchase them at your local magic emporium. Your starting gold is usually 500 minus whatever you spent to equip your character during character creation. You did get 500 gold from Lamm's lair, I don't recall how that loot was distributed.
Elegad Espris
Okay, thanks. :)
Will you be posting pictures of the special weapons we find?
It'll be interesting to see how damage reduction enemies and enemies with immunity to certain things works with Savage Worlds.
Elegad Espris
I hope you guys enjoy this as much as me. Having a swearing kid who wants to become an honourable Sable Marine is pretty interesting to me.
He swears like a trooper.
Elegad Espris
Thanks for the Bennie!
Now it's question time:
1. What's the penalty for attacking creatures while on the ground?
2. If I raise (score 8 or above) on a spirit roll, can I act normally?
3. How do I stand up without provoking an AoO?
4. Can I do all of the above in one round?
Thanks. :p
mikeawmids
1: -2 penalty on your attack roll.
2: Yes. A success means you are unshaken but cannot act. A raise means you are unshaken and can act normally. You can spend a benny at any time to automatically unshake and act as normal.
3: No AoO for standing up (which takes 2" of your 6" movement), as long as you don't try to move away from your opponent.
4: Yes.
Elegad Espris
This image of Kimiko! :p
Man, I'm itching for the next round so I can act. I love this! :p
Elegad Espris
MAN! That was lethal!
Old position to current position:
In the original map you submitted with the pigs and all, El was on the ground one space to the left of the image, and I've attacked using my imagination, assuming Kimiko is still in the same spot (could be wrong as she rode around a bit), with Malder also there, and Verik and Baldrago just below the lower doors of B2, with the Korvosan Guard (probably Verik) closest, wondering what's going on...and now suffering a mighty blow from a strangely dressed and starved kid!
Elegad Espris
Is this all rough terrain then? As in.....the floors are so soaked in blood, there's a -2 to all actions? :p
With Vats and gore, it'd be fairly easy to imagine how slippery it is. I really thought I had him then! In one massively hard hit. Wishful thinking eh? :D
Elegad Espris
With only two of us currently playing, the rounds seem to fly by!
I like the speed of this, and also I posted in the recruitment section to try and get an extra player or two, as I know you expressed an interest in that. :)
Elegad Espris
Ah okay, then for movement past my base speed because they weren't where I assumed? :p
Map penalties I'm unfamiliar with in case you didn't alreay guess, but yea, -4 normally, dropped to -2 on all rolls is a pretty hefty blow, so I'm not surprised El missed. I think he should just do himself a favour and raise on every attack though.
I'll respond IC to Verik on my round. I doubt it'll be positive though, because Kimiko hasn't discovered it yet, but El's disgusted with the fact they've been killing people and feeding them to others within the city. Verik should consider himself lucky El's attacking to knock him out and not kill, but then I guess that might change depending on how things go.
There's two of us, three of them and two are on the profanity slinging street kid currently.
Not sure where we are on the maps mind! :)
Elegad Espris
Haha, any update on the maps yet? :p
Also, would a successful agility roll possibly get me away from Verik and Baldrago without provoking an AoO? I have a plan! ;)
Elegad Espris
Noooooo, all of that damage wasted!
That poor cow lol. On the plus side I have 2 Bennies back. :-D
Elegad Espris
Can I punch once and clear my face in one round btw? I'm asking under the assumption that two punches are too actions. :-)
Elegad Espris
Bah, bad timing!
I was typing that massive post before your response and now it seems out of context lol.
Yea, El really doesn't like this guy and doesn't believe a word he says.
Patrik Ström
Huzzah! Hope you had a restful break! :D
That I did :)
I've read through what I missed. Any ideas on how to bring Mirian into the thread? I was thinking to retcon my last two posts and that she did succumb to the lure of drinking the Lamm-situation away from her thoughts, and never made it to the citadel that morning. Instead she arrives to the news that Elegad and Kimiko already left.
Elegad Espris
We're not seasoned yet are we?
Anyway, I'll grab improved Nerves of Steel. I think it allows me to take 2 wounds before actually going into my proper wounds, effectively giving me damage reduction. :)
