Caitlyn Weissman |

Caitlyn ached all over, her body one giant bruise, she dearly wished to lay down and sleep right here. Of course that was out of the question, wearily she nodded and started plodding towards the Sla-Mori, barely aware of her surroundings.

The golden radiance of Paladine washes over Caitlyn's body, closing cuts and erasing abrasions. It hurt less to walk now and she stooped fractionally less. "Thank you" she said 43/84 hp :)

Samnell |

Should I wait to see what else might take place or should I channel again?
We can just skip ahead. Nothing's going to bother you the rest of the way.
Gilthanas led the companions through the night. It took most of the promised hour, but they arrived at a sheer cliff. The elflord produced a small, glowing gem and passed it over the rock for some time before it pulsed. He recited a long poem about peace and understanding in archaic elven, and the cliff came to life. Lines of light spread from the gem in the form of an archway, which then filled with leaves and drew back. Humid, musty air washed out from the tunnel beyond.
"We are here. It should be safe to camp just inside."

Jakun Stormhoof |

Jakun will lay down and get some rest agreeing to take the final watch where he can ready spells before they head deeper into this complex.

Caitlyn Weissman |

Caitlyn offers to take the first watch saying, "I'm so stiff I'd never sleep anyway." She gingerly unpacks her coffee pot from her pack and cleans out the grounds. With a mortar and pestle she grinds up some dark beans and soon has a tiny fire going over an alcohol burner. Soon you unmistakable phut-phut-phut of the coffee peculating, Caitlyn offered to keep some for whoever was taking the second watch.
Brew in hand Caitlyn kept an attentive watch, alert for any danger.

He's exploring the whole of the campsight, and the a bit further afield, just to keep aware of any dangers.

Thistletorp found that the tunnel split in three about a hundred winding feet from the companions' campsite. An uneventful, if somewhat chilly, night passed.
Ok, morning it is. At the fork you can go straight, north, or south.

Caitlyn Weissman |

So I guess we all recover 6hp from resting :)
Still hurting from yesterdays battle, Caitlyn nods, "Yes, but we must not tarry over long. We need to find this Pax Tharkas and defeat the highlord who has taken it, before it's too late." Her voice was full of quiet determination, it had to be done.
Later when the group discuss tactics, Caitlin asks Gilthanas, "Thistletorp says the path ahead forks, we can carry on straight or go north or south. Which is the best way?"

Samnell |

Perhaps we should rest in here and gather our strength as we examine and explore the tomb of the First Speaker of he Sun, Kith-Kanan. she suggests.
"It has been long since any elf walked these halls. Much may have changed with the Cataclysm," Gilthanas touched the rough stone. "My ancestor should sleep to the north. We can gain Pax Tharkas from there, without passing the tombs of the guard."

Caitlyn Weissman |

Earlier
Caitlyn marveled as the holy energies answering Mariel's prayer washed away her wounds. With a reverent voice she murmurs, "This truly is a marvel, it changes everything."
After resting
Caitlyn nods, "Lets try to the north as Lord Gilthanas suggests."
When everyone is ready she heads out, half expecting Thistletorp to scamper ahead. She cautiously scans the ground ahead looking for signs of trouble...

Sorry I meant to reply before now.

Jakun Stormhoof |

Jakun sticks to the middle of the group. This time he keeps an eye on the human Eben, Minotaur cannot abide cowards and Jakun's patience with this one has already become thin.

Mariel Uth Kaldar |

The half-elf will try to remain towards the front of the group. If this place is blessed by the Gods of Light, as befitting the Tomb of an Elven Prince and Speaker of the Sun, the medallion of Paladine might be of aide here.

Samnell |

The companions set out through the rough tunnels of the Sla-Mori, coming in short order to a gigantic hall, long fallen into decay. Tall columns rose to the ceiling on either side, but a quarter of them lay shattered on the floor. A huge granite throne stood on a dais near where they entered, flanked by statues thrice the height of a man, each holding a huge broadsword.
Dwarfing them, the decayed remains of an elf sat the throne. It sat like a living being might, an unmoving skeleton draped in a once-regal cloak. A long-handled hammer lay across its lap, sticking out well to the sides of the throne.
"Great Father," Gilthanas said, bowing his head in reverence. A pale blue light kindled in the skeleton's eye sockets.
"It's an abomination!" Eben shouted.

Jakun Stormhoof |

Jakun turns to Gilanthas, "Elf lord. That hammer is magical. You should seize it. I am not one to disturb the dead but I think your ancestors would wish us to rid your lands of evil and we can use all of the help we can get..."

Mariel Uth Kaldar |

The cleric will utter prayers to Paladine thanking him for the role that Kith Kanan played in history and for the soul of the first Speaker of the Sunset and for aide for the elven people

Caitlyn Weissman |

Feeling a little out of her depth, Caitlyn merely watches Gilthanas's reaction, although her eye is drawn repeatedly to the skeletal king.

Gilthanas looked thoughtfully at the skeleton, ignoring Eben's outburst.
"He holds Wyrmslayer, the Blade Reforged. Our fathers held it in Silvanesti before the Kinslaying and broke with our homeland. When the races built Pax Tharkas, the shards were remade by the hands of elf, dwarf, and man. No mortal hand has touched it in thousands of years." He took slow steps toward his ancestor, and raised his hand to touch the hammer.
The skeleton shifted, drawing the weapon back and holding it upright. The elflord bowed his head in shame and withdrew.
"I will not rob my ancestors," he said. "What Kith-Kanan does not give, I will not take."

It's Caitlyn's kind of hammer. :)

Mariel Uth Kaldar |

The Speakers children were halfelves, treated better in the early days of QuaLanesti. E'li, be with me she says as she approaches the body of the Speaker, kneeling Great Speaker, does the return of the gods bringing hope make this possible? Do your bless our endeavors to save the elven lands?

Caitlyn Weissman |

Curious about the hammer Caitlyn takes a closer look and marvels at the detailed metal work. Earnestly she asks Gilthanas in elvish, "You say this is Wrymslayer the reforged blade. Why did they turn it into a hammer?"

Samnell |

Kith-Kanan showed no sign of hearing Mariel's words. He simply sat, unmoving.

"My people would have made a blade," Gilthanas said. "The dwarves would have made a hammer. Your people gave the reach of a lance to it. Together they made an arm for all free people."
When Caitlyn drew near to get a better look at the hammer, the long-dead elfking reversed his grip on it and extended the haft toward her.

Caitlyn Weissman |

Caitlyn's face is a picture, her mouth forming a perfect O of surprise. In elvish she replies, "For me?! I... I am g-greatly honored." Reverently she takes the pommel and says, "I shall strive to do this weapon justice. It was forged to fight dragons, was it not? Well then that's what it and I shall do!"

Jakun Stormhoof |

Jakun lowers his head in reverance, "Perhaps thus is a sign that the disparate races can align to combat evil and restore the balance..."

"It was," Gilthanas said. "My Great Father will sleep well knowing you have it."

Caitlyn Weissman |

Caitlyn bowed once more to Kith Kanan and turned to speak to Gilthanas. "Well that was most unexpected. I believe Kith Kanan intends for us to put this to good use, I only hope I live up to that. Anyway which way would you suggest we try next?"
