AoO: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Surprised by the fact that the giant was suddenly running at him, Tatsuo wildly swings out with his dagger in reflex, but it little damage. Slightly embarrassed, he attempts to correct his mistake by making a number of arcane gestures, muttering under his breath as he does so. The storm tattoos on his arm glow and swirl as a sudden crack of electricity bursts from his finger tips at the giant and one of its lizard pets. Tatsuo then takes a step back.
Cast Burning Hands converted to electricity damage, then 5ft step backwards.
Cast defensively DC 17: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
DC 20 Reflex save for half damage. Should hit both the giant and the right-most lizard but none of my allies
Electricity damage: 5d4 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 3, 2) + 6 = 19
Oster Catus
Oster keeps hammering on the same spot on the back of the giant's leg, like a punching bag.
Sneak attack I believe, if the giant is running and doesn't have dexterity to add to their AC. Also, that giant isn't getting very far thanks to Hampered from Oster's previous attack!
AOO with sap: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 2 = 28
Non-Lethal Damage with Brutal Beating (Ex): 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) = 6
Enforcer feat to make a demoralise test as a free action
Intimidate, demoralise as free action: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Demoralise Enemy with Memorable trait, so shaken for 1 round plus 1.5 rounds for every 5 Oster beat the DC by.
Intimidate skill unlock, 5 ranks: If you exceed the DC to demoralize a target by at least 10, it is frightened for 1 round and shaken thereafter.* A Will save (DC = 10 + your number of ranks in Intimidate) (15) negates the frightened condition, but the target is still shaken, even if it has the stalwart ability.
Slow Reactions (Ex) Benefit: Opponents damaged by the rogue’s sneak attack can’t make attacks of opportunity for 1 round.
Brutal Beating (Ex) At 3rd level, whenever a thug deals sneak attack damage, she can choose to forgo 1d6 points of sneak attack damage to make the target sickened for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 her rogue level (2). This ability does not stack with itself—only the most recent duration applies.
Bewildered: The target becomes bewildered, taking a –2 penalty to AC. The target takes an additional –2 penalty to AC against all attacks made by the rogue.
Memnosyne
Memnosyne lashes out with a dagger at the lizard that attacked her.

Calvon

Face to face combat is not really something Calvon does a lot of nor does he like it so he's breathing pretty heavy due to being very nervous.
Calvon casts daze. Figuring that these creatures likely have a reach, Calvon casts defensively.
Cast Defensively DC 15: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
YESS!!
This spell clouds the mind of a humanoid creature with 4 or fewer Hit Dice so that it takes no actions. Humanoids of 5 or more HD are not affected. A dazed subject is not stunned, so attackers get no special advantage against it. After a creature has been dazed by this spell, it is immune to the effects of this spell for 1 minute.
Dazed Condition: The creature is unable to act normally. A dazed creature can take no actions, but has no penalty to AC.
If the creature fails the DC 15 Will save, Calvon is going to take a move action to move 30 feet away from it but trying not to get close to any other creature in the area.
Tatsuo Arashi
Not sure who got the nat 20 on my reflex save, but there should have been 2 saves (one from the giant and one from the rightmost lizard) since burning hands is a 15ft cone
Oster Catus
Roughly how wounded is the giantess now? She should have a whole bunch of nonlethal damage to start with.
Oster Catus
Oster races after the giantess, aiming to bring her down!
Scout's charge, sneak attack

Enforcer feat to make a demoralise test as a free action
Intimidate, demoralise as free action: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

Slow Reactions (Ex) Benefit: Opponents damaged by the rogue’s sneak attack can’t make attacks of opportunity for 1 round.
Debilitating Injury (Ex) Disoriented: The target takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls. In addition, the target takes an additional –2 penalty on all attack rolls it makes against the rogue.

The others seem to making progress on the giant. Memnosyne stabs for the lizard again.

The enemies act after Oster and before the rest of us get to go again, do they not?
Calvon

Calvon breathes a huge sigh of relief that the lizard in front of him is dead. He turns and fires a force missile at the remaining lizard.

With her dagger, Memnosyne finishes off the remaining lizard
Loot: Battleaxe
The six treasure chests are filled with rotting meat. In one, amonst the rotting meet are tourmalines worth 2000gp
On the back of the throne there is a metal plate which reads:
'A gift for my Mistress Sorshen from her humble servant Ayandamahla, dedicated this celebrated day, the 25th anniversary of her ascension to rulership in Eurythnia. Present-Runelord Sorshen, Ayandamahla and her daughters Ashamintallu and Erixadallax, Lord &. Lady of the Burning Bright, the Sisters of Charming &. Delectation, and the Baron of Calamities, along with all slaves, servants, and supplicants in this, the Lady's Light. May she reign unchallenged forever."
Memnosyne
Memnosyne groans at the treasure chests full of meat. "Nice work team. I must admit, I've never seen a giant run scared. Anyone hurt?"
cast detect magic on the jewel and the axe just in case
Calvon
|
Calvon frowns, reading the plate over and over.
"So, this throne was a gift to Sorshen from one of her servants. It's not magically trapped, or Mem would have detected magic, so how did the giant come to believe that it is Sorshen? This particular area makes no sense to me."
Memnosyne
"Hmm. The incubus said Ashimantallu rules here and thinks she's Sorshen. She's listed on this inscription. But I'm not sure if this is her," she says pointing to the giant. "There may be something here which makes people, and I use the word generously, think they are Sorshen. I suppose we should take her head to be on the safe side." She groans. "I can't believe I've had to utter that sentence."
Tatsuo Arashi
"Was there anything we wished to ask of the giantess first? If there is no magical aura around her, then that would indicate the charm effect is gone and perhaps we would be able to find her true identity or what it is that charmed her in the first place. Though it does seem a bit cruel to wake her up for questioning only to kill her anyway should we determine hers is the head the demon demands."
Though if we just want to behead her, I'm fine with that too.
Calvon
|
Calvon smacks his forehead.
"I forgot about what the Incubus said!! However, according to the inscription, Ashamintallu was present when this throne was presented to Sorshen by her mother. That would have to be around 10,000 years ago. I doubt this giantess is that old."
Suddenly his eyes get wide.
"However, that also means that Ashamintuallu is over 10,000 years old. What creature lives that long? How powerful must she be after 10,000 years? How long has she been posing as Sorshen?'
Do I know anything about Ayandamahla, Ashamintallu or Erixadallax?
Knowledge: History: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Oster Catus
Oster grins.
"I know where to hit to make them howl."
He looks at the giantess.
"If she isn't keen on going for us when she wakes up, I have no real objection to letting her walk. Of course, if she's still keen, then" - He makes a cutting motion across his neck with his hand.
Tatsuo Arashi
Since the giant is probably still enchanted, retcon what Tatsuo said. Unless someone has some way to dispel that, I lean towards just beheading her. And then I guess we can just carry around the heads of people to all give to the demon, hoping one of them is the correct one.
Oster Catus
Oster shrugs.
"Right so, on we go."
What are our options currently?
Memnosyne
"We might as well check out the rest of whatever is down here," Memnosyne says. "The river goes off further to the west. Why don't we pole over there and see if there's any other landings?"
so suggesting we move to L7 if no one objects
Daniel Penfold 357
Moving on to L6
The ceiling peaks nearly forty feet overhead in this enormous underground lake. Phosphorescent lichen and fungus cling to the stalactites above, reflected by the waters below to make the aslls of the cave dance with a pearlescent shimmer. You can all hear a strange, low whispering sound.
Tatsuo Arashi
"Not sure. Perhaps we have reached the enchanted waters spoken of before? Not that I wish to sound like a broken record on the matter. I simply do not wish to be eaten alive because of some enchantment, and would rather we find land again quickly."
Calvon
|
"Okay, I think we should stop before we go any further!"
