Use this thread for out of character discussions and off topic conversations. This way, we can keep the Gameplay tab in character, and reading like a story.
Also, please give me the following information.
Player Name

I will make a basic action for you if you are silent more than 24 hours during combat or an important skill challenge.
If you make a BotMe! Spoiler in your profile, that will tell me what to do. Otherwise, I will attempt to choose an action which fits with your posting history so far.

Alrighty! A couple days early but I'm all ready to get this show on the road. I'm aiming to start us off on Thursday night. (That way our players have a few days to check in.)
Player Name
Character Name
SFS #
Faction
Day Job Roll
Top two preferred spaceship roles (in order)
(Normally this is where you would slot boons. But, only slotless boons are allowed in this scenario! You do still get to apply credit towards one faction.)
Also, please go to the slides and copy your character's photo onto Slide 2! (Bonus points if you can make it circular.) Also, copy your photo onto Slide 3 in the marching order you would prefer to be in.

![]() |

I pasted in two versions, depending on whether you want "Cora" in mouse form to have a face or to be actually centered in a circle. You can keep whichever one you prefer.

Peet |

I swore I posted here before... but I must have hit preview and not submit.
I haven't actually made up a 702 character yet and though I would see what the party needed before making one. I can throw one together pretty quick.
So currently my info is:
Player Name: Pete Smith
Character Name: TBD
SFS # 68401 - 702
Faction: TBD
Day Job Roll: TBD
Top two preferred spaceship roles (in order): TBD
Standard Advancement

First Gunner's quarters: Ash
Second Gunner's quarters: Cora

OK, Peet's 702 character is complete.

In the combat order, do we have to be every other square? And did anybody actually want to be in front, or are we all avoiding it? It doesn't seem quite fair to leave the spot for whoever is the last to edit.

![]() |

I assume we should set ourselves up as most groups I've seen do, which is two abreast and three deep.
I definitely don't want to put Arratoi up front though...he's a writer, not a fighter. =) And he's squishy.

Hedd |

Ash is ready to be first.
It looks like my AC is a 2 higher in each area with the same HP, so up to you, I won't deny you leading, especially if you're melee.

![]() |

If we go two by two you can both be in front, no need to fight over the privilege. ;)
I'd be fine with either middle or back as well, so I put myself in that general area.

![]() |

Oh I see! I didn't notice the 6 points of normal damage. I have another follow up question though.
The NPC rolled a 14, correct? Is my understanding of the rules incorrect? I thought a natural 20 (or sometimes a 19) is required to score a crit? Not sure if I'm misunderstanding something.
Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah, I missed the initial damage too, because I didn't think that would be a critical hit.
I suspect you saw the result of 20 and thought that was the natural roll instead of the total roll. I have done that before. If that's the case then Ash should have only taken the initial 6 damage, and has 1 SP and all his HP still left.

Now if only I were a vesk, I could take advantage of those opportunities with my big tough claws...
Well, at least ysoki get to store stuff in our cheeks, so there's that. ;)

I know its not really relevant for this adventure, but I highly recommend investing in a Ring of Fangs at 3rd level, lets you threaten with a bite even if your hands are full.

Hedd |

Hedd, I'm curious, why the diety change? (Confession: I'm not very familiar with Mystics.)
Didn't change actually, but minor deities were not technically SFS legal when we started (which I didn't realize until it was pointed out in the following thread). They've since become legal per an official campaign errata: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2urhh?Help-My-elf-cant-worship-Calistria#16
Also, shouldn't that Magic Missile have been 2d4, not 3? Either way it works, just checking.
Magic Missile has two options in Starfinder, standard action and full action, a standard action magic missile is 2d4+2 and a full action magic missile is 3d4+3.
You can cast this spell as a full action. If you do, you fire three missiles instead of two.

And yes, Quests are designed to give you a night's sleep in between each Part. You'll find that your health will always be full at the beginning of each Part.
As for gear, you get your loot from the bodies, which carries on through the quest. Of course, it all goes away, like normal Society play, at the end of the session.
And your money and experience doesn't get awarded until you get your Chronicle sheet, like normal Society play.

![]() |

Argon-42 will take a laser pistol.
Guys: even if you don't want the guns, if you have something that uses batteries you should use their batteries first. Always try to use up the consumable materials an SFS adventure throws your way.

The mk 1 duonode computer means we get to add +1 to two rolls in each round of ship combat, is that right?

The mk 1 duonode computer means we get to add +1 to two rolls in each round of ship combat, is that right?
That's correct. Also note the DCs on those sheets are not correct, the DCs for starship combat have been errata'd:
